Besides his preposterous lies about Obama, just think of all the violent things Trump said during his campaign (not even talking about the p**** grab comments that surfaced from years earlier): he has said the f-word, encouraged violence against his opponent, encouraged foreign cyber-attacks, he has said hateful things against specific groups that immediately resulted in violent incidents, he has said to deprive certain groups of basic human rights, and he has said to "nuke" various countries. And his apologists told us time and again that he "didn't really mean it." I guess M is giving them a taste of their own meds, goddess-style. If she is persecuted as a result, then she can be the P**** Riot of the US....

Sorry, but I wouldn't compare her to that man. They are both one of the most successful business persons in the world, at the same time their IQ seems to be pretty average and especially one even lower than average. For me they are not bright exceptional people, that´s for sure. Hmm...one born with money and connections and the other one coming from a regular background and moving to NYC with very little and becoming what she is today. Similar? Not so much!

I would love for them to arrest her for expressing a "thought". She did not stand their and declare she was going to blow the white house up. If the government starts arresting people for bad thoughts that they do not carry out we are all in trouble!

Got my copy of The Immaculate Collection vinyl this morning at Main St. Jukebox in Stroudsburg, Pa.; it had two copies (it had more; apparently it started selling it late last week). Looking forward to being in awe of this masterful, incomparable, culturally enriching release.

These are two remixes of Madonna songs that were commissioned, but then ultimately rejected. The article I read had stated that Madonna felt they were too dark and not accessible. Too bad because these are by far, my two favorite mixes of these songs.
Erotica (Ralphie Rosario Private Mix)
Bedtime Story (Peter Rauhofer White Label Mix)

Were those mixes commissioned years after their release for tour purposes?

Were those mixes commissioned years after their release for tour purposes? Definitely did not specify tour purposes. Could have been for the single releases? I just remember the article stating that Madonna rejected them but then the remixers kept them in their own collection for DJ sets and stuff.

I wasn't sure, cause I didn't think Rauhofer was a known remixer as early as ~ 1994/1995 (and that video says 2003)- same for Rosario in 1992. But who knows. :)

The Ralphi Rosario mix of "Erotica" did circulate on a very limited promo CDr with both the main mix and an acapella based on that mix. That "Bedtime Story" remix is actually not by Peter Rauhofer. It's a bootleg by Thomas Penton & Vince Di Pasquale. It was made using the album version and the vinyl only Lush Percapella. Peter never actually did get to remix this song. Peter did apparently remix "Erotica" for his own sets and played it a few times but it has never ever surfaced. He also did a remix of "Addicted" from the MDNA album that was never released or leaked. Victor Calderone did remix "Bedtime Story" in 2005 to play during his Black Party set. It took nearly a decade for it to surface. Listen here. Junior Vasquez also did private remixes in 2005 of that song too. One of the versions was played during his XM radio show. The instrumental of that mix became the basis for his mix Persephone's Bees' "Nice Day".

I wasn't sure, cause I didn't think Rauhofer was a known remixer as early as ~ 1994/1995 (and that video says 2003)- same for Rosario in 1992. But who knows. :) Peter and Ralphi were both active during those years, but they didn't really come into international prominence until years later. Ralphi had been more well-known in the Chicago House scene. He had a big hit in the 80s that jump started his career called "You Used To Hold Me". He did a good amount of remixes in the early 90s but they were mostly underground. His first major remixes were for Gloria Estefan with her Spanish single "Tres Deseos" and Deee-Lite's "Call Me." He went on to remix for Gloria many, many times both alone and with Abel Aguilera. Ralphi did remix Madonna's "Love Profusion" and "Bitch, I'm Madonna." Peter was mostly releasing stuff in Austria, where he was from, that was similar in style to the underground House popular in the NY gay club scene in the late 80s into the early 90s. He released tracks under the names Danube Dance and Club 69. The latter name was used for a few of his Madonna mixes too. His U.S. breakthrough came with the release of his singles from Adults Only and then later Style. He began doing mixes of mainstream and big artists after his remixes of Depeche Mode, Cher, Madonna, etc. Peter remixed Madonna's "Nothing Really Matters", "Skin" (with Victor Calderone), "Impressive Instant", "Me Against The Music", "American Life", "Nobody Knows Me", "Nothing Fails", "Mother & Father", "Erotica", "Get Together", "Jump", "4 Minutes", "Miles Away", "Spanish Lesson" (private mix), and "Addicted."

This read is dated but it gives a good insight into why M is such a fighter and believer in human rights. 11 Freedom Fighters Who Have Inspired Me Art For Freedom! Posted on April 3, 2014, at 12:56 p.m 1- John Lennon He went from being one of the worldʼs greatest pop stars to speaking out against the Vietnam War and using every opportunity he could in interviews to spread his message of peace. And he wrote one of the greatest songs ever about peace, “Imagine,” one of my favorite songs. 2- Malala Malala risked her life to defend the right for women to be educated in the Swat Valley (where she is from) as well as Islamic countries. She continues to speak out for educating girls everywhere. 3- James Baldwin One of my greatest inspirations as an artist. A great writer, poet, and activist who insisted that all artists have the responsibility to shape and change the world. 4- Marlon Brando An actor who I really admire — the finest of his generation. He was willing to fight for the rights of American Indians and he didnʼt care if it made him unpopular in the entertainment community (which it did). He was a badass in every way, what can I say? 5- Martin Luther King Jr. He was fearless in his fight. His peaceful approach to ending segregation in the United States is beyond admirable. What he did for the civil rights movement is historical. He sacrificed his life for what he believed in. He changed the face of America. 6- Nelson Mandela He was willing to serve time in prison for 27 years, fighting to abolish apartheid in South Africa. He came out with no bitterness, forgiving his enemies. To me, he's a saint. 7- Pussy Riot Fearless young women who are the perfect illustration that you can use your art to change the world. After spending two years in jail, they continue to stand up and fight for human rights. 8- Keith Haring Keith was a great friend who was very supportive of me in the early days of my career. He used street art to bring awareness to the gay community — fighting for equal rights for all, but specifically for people who were HIV positive. 9- Frida Kahlo An artist I have always admired. She played an important role in the revolution of Mexico. She fought for the right of artists as well as the working class. She came up in a time where there were very few female artists — the odds were stacked against her, and yet her voice was heard. And now she is considered one of the greatest artists of the 21st century. 10- Ai Weiwei Ai Weiwei is a gifted Chinese artist who is willing to speak out against the censorship of artists and the oppression by the Chinese government, which doesnʼt allow freedom of artistic expression. He was abducted and held in captivity for 81 days for continuing to create art even though the government forbade him to. He cleverly used social media to speak out about his predicament and bring awareness other fellow Chinese artists. 11- Nancy Cunard She was the heiress to the Cunard fortune — but because she fought for the rights of African-Americans in the '20s and '30s, she was disowned by her family. She raised money to buy a printing press so she could print newspapers and books to keep African-American culture alive through poetry, music, literature, and art. She ended up destitute because she fought for what she believed in. She went from socialite and fashion icon to freedom fighter, an interesting journey that most people do not know about; she was extremely courageous. www.google.com/amp/s/www.buzzfeed.com/amphtml/madonna/11-freedom-fighters-who-have-inspired-me?client=safari

That Texas radio station banned her, lol. How stupid. Like what station plays her? lol. Someone said Nielsen doesn't even monitor that station anyways, so that's the real kii.
Queen remains unbothered.

I hear her songs like 6 times a day, grant their her 80's hits mainly, but she gets royalties from those spins, etc. When I heard Papa Don't Preach this morning I was thankful! lol....last thing she/we need is her banned from radio, even if it's just her oldies.

I live in a market that has 3 "oldies" station. I hear Madonna quite often.
I heard "Into The Groove" the other day.
Then there are Sirius/XM's 80s & 90s channels.

Can anyone help me with what are the songs that are available from the Rebel Heart era? I know there were like 3 demos each of certain songs and then songs that didn't make the album but am not sure what they are exactly... (For example, are Trust No Bitch and Two Steps Behind Me from this era?)
Thank you

Madonna's only ever live performance of Bedtime Story. This performance is from 1995 at the Brit Awards. This was during her Versace era. She is sporting the extensions and dress from one of the Versace ads. She looks gorgeous and flawless. Performance also features hottie dancer Luca Tomassini who was in the Girlie Show, Human Nature video, and did the tango with her in Evita.

Wonder if the IC will reappear on the Billboard 200 because of the Vinyl release?

More interested in whether it re-enters Album Sales or Catalog Albums and, of course, has a nice entry on Vinyl Albums (the only notable thing about an appearance on the multi-metric chart is that there could be commentary in the Chart Moves column). Catalog albums is moving from sales-only to a multi-metric chart, so not sure how it will fare on there.
The reissue of Bedtime Stories charted at No. 19 on Vinyl Albums, and, following Record Store Day week, Like a Virgin and Other Big Hits charted at No. 5 on Vinyl Albums. TIC is pricier than those titles, though.
I know Jan. 24 was listed as the official release date, but if my local store is any indication, outlets were selling it prior to then.

From tmz Madonna Approached to Record 'Enough is Enough' as Anti-Trump Anthem Madonna has not responded to Donald Trump calling her "disgusting" for saying she thought about blowing up the White House, but she has the option of making the next move by recording what could become the rallying cry against the prez. Sources tell TMZ legendary songwriter Bruce Roberts, who wrote "Enough is Enough" for Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer, is reaching out to Madonna to record a track he will lay over the song.
I can smell 'American Life Part II' coming soon...

(Sorry ROL stans!) --- And on another note, bad move Prez...you just gave the Queen fuel Anyway, his presidency is just karmic...no need to give him so much importance. We should try and reserve our responses for just the creative souls.
