I ran into a friend in NYC who works at Viacom and he said there is a rumor that Madonna will be releasing a protest song in May.

What's this with Shep Pettibone suing WB? He didn't earn enough royalties from "Vogue"? MADONNA Producer Sues for 'Vogue'THIS IS BOGUE-US, PAY ME NOW! EXCLUSIVE The famed producer behind Madonna's "Vogue" says he's getting the short end of the stick -- to the tune of half a million bucks -- because the record label's out for payback. Shep Pettibone, producer extraordinaire -- who's worked with Madge, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul and a ton of other artists -- says WB Music Corp owes him a ton of back royalties for the 1990 mega hit. It appears everything was fine up until 2012 ... when Shep and WB were sued for allegedly jacking "Vogue" from someone else. In his lawsuit, Shep says they both came out victorious in that case, but the label spent a ton on lawyers -- more than $700k, according to docs. The mega producer says WB's been withholding royalties since then to cover that massive legal bill. Translation: we forked out the dough to defend your song ... now you owe us. Shep ain't buyin' that theory though, and says his contract with the label doesn't give them the right to hold back his "Vogue" dollars. He believes he's been screwed out of as much as $500k, and wants a judge to force WB Music to hand over the loot.

^I recall that suit. I I just meant, in jest, that he probably earned plenty from that track.;)

Sheryl Crow: Madonna's Career Of Selling Sex Harms 'How Women Are Forever Looked At' Russ Espinoza , CONTRIBUTOR Speaking with Dan Rather in advance of the April 21 release of her latest album, "Be Myself," singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow dished her thoughts on Madonna's December speech about sexism in the music industry. (AP Photo/Mark Humphrey) In a wide-ranging discussion on her life and career on AXS TV's The Big Interview with Dan Rather" that aired Tuesday night, singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow criticized Madonna's sexually stylized track record for damaging how women are perceived in society. In December, Madonna used her platform accepting "Woman of the Year" honors at December's Billboard Women in Music 2016 celebration to deliver a searing and heartfelt 10-minute address about her experience of sexism in the music industry. "What can I say about being a woman in the music business..." she began, "If you're a girl, you have to play the game. What is that game? You are allowed to be pretty and cute and sexy--but don't act too smart. Don't have an opinion... You are allowed to be objectified by men and dressed like a slut, but don't own your sluttiness, and do not--I repeat--do not share your own sexual fantasies with the world. Be what men want you to be, but more importantly, be what women feel comfortable with you being around other men. And finally, do not age: because to age is a sin." When invited by Rather to offer an opinion on those remarks in the context of her own career, Crow--now 55 and a mother of two adopted young boys--implied that a woman's treatment from the industry is a byproduct of the image they present, then softly accused Madonna and kindred artists of tarnishing the greater female image. "I would never say that someone else's opinion is 'baloney,' but what I would say about it is, for the women that are out there now, I would always ask the question, "'Do you feel more empowered by using your body to draw attention to your art? Or do you feel more empowered by wielding a talent that moves the molecules,'" Crow said. "And to me, I choose the latter, because--I mean, I wouldn't put it all on Madonna--but there's a certain part of me that says when you start exploring sex as a woman's power and you project that into art as a business form, you change the way women are forever looked at." In his follow-up, Rather tactfully asked Crow whether she still could've "made it" without the good looks to compliment her considerable talent. "When I was coming up, what was on the radio was Madonna and Paula Abdul... and then there was Suzanne Vega and Tracy Chapman--and I was somewhere in between. And my first record [1993's "Tuesday Night Music Club",] I tried everything not to look [good]--in fact, I have an oversized jean shirt on. I was so conscious of wanting to be taken seriously. I tried to make sure I didn't look good... I think [sexualization is] the norm now. If I were coming out now, I don't know that I'd wanna do it. I just couldn't get into the idea that I'm selling everything about me that has nothing to do with my words."
And what exactly was Sheryl selling with these photos 1, 2, and 3? Cookies? Religious articles? Sheryl was on the Andy Cohen talk show last night and a caller asked her about these comments. She said her comments were taken out of context and that she has a lot of respect for Madonna. 🙄

I had forgotten that Darren Hayes (Savage Garden) had recorded a cover of "Dress You Up." It's uber-gay and fun.

Looks like they are moving ahead with the Madonna biopic "Blond Ambition." It also looks like they are covering the exact same time period that the awful tv-movie "Madonna: Innocence Lost." I hope this movie actually uses Madonna's music, unlike the tv movie that had to create original songs because they couldn't license her music...why bother at that point? With a major studio attached (Universal) and a major producer attached (Brett Ratner)...maybe this has a chance. Blonde Ambition Will Live To Tell Madonna’s Origin Story at UniversalFor those of you who never saw "Innocence Lost" here is the movie. Terumi Matthews played Madonna. All of the dialogue was so cheesy and was just lifted verbatim from interviews Madonna has given on TV and magazines. You will recognize some of the more famous quotes.

U2 Joins Michael Jackson, Madonna & 'Weird Al' Yankovic With Top 40 Hot 100 Hits in '80s, '90s, '00s & '10s 4/27/2017 by Gary Trust www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7776244/u2-joins-michael-jackson-madonna-weird-al-yankovic-top-40-hot-100-hits-four-decadesMadonna From the King of Pop to the Queen, Madonna added her 49th and most recent top 40 Hot 100 hit in 2012 with the No. 10-peaking "Give Me All Your Luvin'," featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Madonna by the decades: 19 top 40 Hot 100 hits in the '80s, 20 in the '90s, nine in the '00s and one in the '10s. As for Madonna's total of 49 top 40 Hot 100 hits, among women, Taylor Swift has one-upped her for the most, as her recent No. 2-peaking duet with Zayn, "I Don't Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker)," became her milestone 50th. Madonna is snugly sandwiched between Swift and Rihanna in third place among women with 48 top 40 Hot 100 hits, with Rihanna adding her 48th this week: She's featured on Lamar's "Loyalty." (from DAMN.), new at No. 14. (Among all acts, Swift is tied with The Beatles for the sixth-most top 40 entries in the Hot 100's 58-year history. Elvis Presley leads with 80.)

I am loving the militant Mae West realness she is serving with that look. Her hair and makeup are flawless.

She looks incredible, but she could have ditched the gloves and left the cargo net at home.

Sarah Paulson's reaction has become quite the internet moment. I do like this look a lot more than last year's, but the best look remains that blue dress.

She was voted one of the worst dressed of the MET (alongside Nicki Minaj, Céline Dion, Claire Danes and Sofia Richie) and I can see why; I love her hairstyle and makeup, but that dress is atrocious.

She should upload the original American Life video to her YouTube in HQ. Zero f**ks to be given in this administration - that's what the dress makes me think of.
