I have said this before, and I will say it again. Mariah doesn't need high budget to have an effective marketing campaign. She just needs to make sure what she is doing is going to have the most impact for what she needs it to do. Videos for example, they don't have to be the best, but they do have to help propel the song whether it be through a thoughtful story, striking imagery, etc.

Interesting she has the cover of two UK based magazines in Pride and Wonderland. I wonder if she is trying to reclaim that market. It would be a nice start for her to try and reclaim some of her audience outside of the US. Specifically, she should look into ways to tap back into the UK and Japan. I think with a good, catchy ballad or a nice uptempo, she should be able to woo a decent amount of the international crowd.

Clutch them pearls like you clutching on eternal youth. I like it anytime older women get to be playful and sexy like this. Mind you not I like the overall direction and message of it all but not too keen on this particular picture. Still do you Mimi!.

Along with unicorn lol I think if Rollercoaster was going to be used at any point it would have been the first album after the breakdown (ie Charmbracelet)... Excited to be able to see Mariah perform next month in NYC. Was it the concert series where she performed last year and missed the high notes at the end of #Beautiful ??

Leigh, that was the GMA Concert series that she squealed out the high noyes to Beautiful. This is for the Today show near times square.

That shot is all kinds of awkward. Oh Mariah... When I see that pic I think of the mom from "Mean Girls" who so desperately wants to fit in...

She looks like Kimora Lee Simmons melded with Adrienne Maloof.

I think she looks fine. There's too much going on with the jacket, gloves glass and pearls but I don't think there's anything wrong with how she looks. I think for her to look like the desperate mom from Mean Girls she'd first have to look like a mom, which she decidedly does not.
The only thing that tickles me is how they've framed the jacket to make her look like she has a tiny waist.

I disagree with you guys. I'm not the biggest fan of Slutriah, but I actually think she looks good in that pic! Her face looks great, they framed her body well- I think she looks sexy and young.
I am hoping for a slightly more covered up, mature Mariah this go-round (if the music really is as epic as I think it's gonna be), but for an indie magazine cover, I don't mind it.

I hope not, but i wouldn't be surprised at all if she chooses that picture as album or single cover. Ok ok, I doubt she will, but still I wouldn't be surprised.

Facially, I think she looks fabulous in that shot and can more than give Jennifer Lopez a run for her money as the hottest over-40 singer.

The only thing I hate is the hair. I wish she had gone a lot darker with the hair color. Kind of like the color her hair was in this shot. Attachment Deleted

She is on David Letterman on May 7th. Leads me to believe we are getting the album around May 6th in some form.

I love Almost Home, and that alternate version made me love it even more. Too bad she doesn't feel connected to the song. It's a different sound for her and a worthy addition to her catalogue.

I feel like if she had her resung vocals to fit that alternate production, it might have stood a chance as a hit. The stripped production works well.

Amazing how a little production change and all of a sudden I feel more connected to "Almost Home". I always said it was a nice song but I didnt connect with it but that alternate version fixed that! Thanks killer Levine!

I think what that version shows me is how much better Mariah sounds with stripped down production. The vocals themselves don't really mesh with the production, but she does sound so much better over that type of production. It also made me appreciate the song more. I would love to see a more stripped down process with her ballads. I would love Rick Rubin to produce a couple of ballads and even an uptempo for her.

To each its own I guess I had to stop that version midway because I was disliking it more and more. AH is the song I've liked the most from Mimi probably since WBT. Love the production, voice, vibe.
