To each its own I guess I had to stop that version midway because I was disliking it more and more. AH is the song I've liked the most from Mimi probably since WBT. Love the production, voice, vibe. I agree. I even loved the simple video. |

I love Almost Home, and that alternate version made me love it even more. Too bad she doesn't feel connected to the song. It's a different sound for her and a worthy addition to her catalogue. Has she said she doesn´t feel connected to it? |

I think it will be something simple maybe even a play off one of Marilyn's film titles. I could see her do something with Diamonds in the title for Diamond's Are a Girl's Best Friend. It's ironic that she references Something's Got to Give, Marilyn's final, torturous, uncompleted - and unreleased - film. And no, Marilyn wasn't reading Nietzsche on that set, Mariah. |

I waited 5 years so a few weeks wont kill me! I just hope they remain silent until its ready to drop. Still optimistic the music will be worth the wait as always. (minus 1 album and half of another).

Mariah Carey showed off her curves in a risqué photoshoot for UK magazine Wonderland.
The 44-year-old mother of twins shared the image on Instagram Tuesday, in which she sports Agent Provocateur lingerie and a matching silk jacket by Roberto Cavalli, as she clutches a wine glass and string of pearls.

For another, though, many fans have been getting their hopes up time after time for a year or more now, only to be disappointed. That's brutal. I think it's best for people to not count on anything until they have the album on their iPod or the CD in their hand. The article says "She's still got it" as the first line, so I doubt the article is chastising her. I have seen Mariah do far far worse than that picture. If she wants to flash her breasts or her legs, then I would say she has earned the right to do it. She suffers any direct or indirect consequences of it whether it is direct personal attacks or decline in record sales because people deem her sleazy. I don't personally care because I can disassociate what she is wearing from her music, and I never combine the two. It is obvious she has made the decision that she is going to do what she wants and not go back. I actually have to commend her because overall she has reverted to a more demure look with every now and then really going out of her way to flash some breast or legs or both. |

There has been a ton of Marilyn homages in Mariah's career. The "I Still Believe" and "DFAU" videos are direct homages. The E=MC2 cover is Marilyn-inspired, but then so are other photos of Mariah throughout the years. Her performance of "Happy birthday" to Ali was based on Marilyn serenading JFK. If you've read the book A Prayer for Owen Meany, you know there is a lot of talk of Marilyn Monroe in it. The passage about her could also be about Mariah, in my opinion (replace Joe, Arthur, and the Kennedys with Tommy, Derek, Luis, and maybe Eminem): I'm a bit surprised she hasn't covered "Candle in the Wind." That could actually be pretty emotional, because to some extent it would be like she was singing it to herself. |

I think there are some songs that she avoids covering because she knows that there would be no escaping criticism regardless of whether she did a just job to the song or not. "Candle in the Wind" is one of those songs in my opinion.
