All of this is straight f**kery. From the ridiculous album title, the even more ridiculous explanation, to the album covers that are photoshopped to HELL AND BACK. Seriously, she looks like a cartoon. I can't believe she's throwing on scraps from MOAIA and course the fact that this album is being released after such a complete disaster of an album campaign. DEMBABIES
That being said, I LOVE HER FOR IT and wouldn't have it any other way at this point.

Plus I don't know why you guys are hating on the album title as though its the worst album title ever…bunch of drama queens! lets review some of the current album titles on billboard 200 and see if truly "Me. I AM Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse" is as bad as you all think. "Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse" by Mariah Carey "Honest" by Future "The New Classic" by Iggy Azalea "Girl" by Pharrell Williams "Testimony" by August Alsina "Pop Psychology" by Neon Trees "Crash My Party" by Luke Bryan "Pure Heroine" by Lorde "Prism" by Katy Perry I think the title is creative, catchy and fun and compared to these other titles, genius! Lol uh, are those titles are perfectly fine, if uninteresting. This one is a garbled mess. I can hear her slur-screaming it into the studio mic after an 11-hour/glass day whilst spinning in her bedazzled harmonizing chair.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the covers or the title. But her titles and covers are always a little off for me so it fits with the rest of her catalogue :)
I think that drawing that she made when she was a kid would have actually made a cool cover but oh well.
I am VERY happy that the two "Memoirs" remixes are on the deluxe version as well as "The Art of Letting Go"
(like I would buy the standard version anyway!! lol)
Excited!!!!!!!

Danny would know about 11-hour/glass days so this is probably true but yet what some find strange and awful, I find soooooo endearing!!
I'm just giddy now that I have a name, date and tracklist in my grasp, NOW the fun part holding my breath in hoping the music is A++++++++ and blows me away.

This conversation has been going on since 1999 when the Rainbow title was announced and has continued with every album title since then. You'd think people just learned about Mariah Carey yesterday.. One More Try is one of my favorite songs of all time so if she f**ks it up, I will personally burn her at the stake. But...what a great thing to wake up to, this concrete news and these only-on-Pulse reactions. I don't think you have to worry. She chose well. It is right in her wheelhouse. I am curious as to who produced it. That is where I think the disappointment will lie if it doesn't live up. Some of the production on Emotions and Music Box was very reminiscent of One More Try. I'm curious if she'll take it back to that sound or do a more contemporary R&B version. If it's an R&B version with a drum machine, finger snaps, and a keyboard, I'll vomit.

I think Mariah has always wanted to keep the arrangements and keys and the overall artistic message of the songs she covers to be the same, I really don't think she would take a cover song and change it to that degree.
I for one really love George and most of his songs including that one and while I didnt like any of her other covers minus I'll Be There, so excited for this one!.

I would pay for some i-tunes banners through out the month of May to help keep it there, and definitely have them there the week of the release.

^I was just going to say, why don't they have a banner up on iTunes already? ugh! Everyone else with pre-order album has one up. Mariah's doesn't even have a small icon on the front page.

Production Credits (According to the Writing Credits) 1. “Cry.” (James "Big Jim" Wright) 2. “Faded” (Mike.Will.Made.It) 3. “Dedicated” (feat. Nas) (Hit-Boy Samples Wu-Tang Clan!) 4. “#Beautiful” (feat. Miguel) 5. “Thirsty” (Hit-Boy) 6. “Make It Look Good” (Jermaine Dupri and Bryan Michael Cox) 7. “You’re Mine (Eternal)” (Rodney Jerkins) 8. “You Don’t Know What to Do” (feat. Wale)(Jermaine Dupri and Bryan Michael Cox) 9. “Supernatural” (feat. Dem Babies)(Jermaine Dupri and Bryan Michael Cox) 10. “Meteorite” (Q-Tip!) 11. “Camouflage” (James "Big Jim" Wright) 12. “Money ($ * / …)” [feat. Fabolous](Hit-Boy) 13. “One More Try” 14. “Heavenly (No Ways Tired/Can’t Give Up Now)” 15. “Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse”
I can't decipher the last 2 because they are covers.

She will have a single out by then because she will want people to be able to sing along to it when she performs on the Today show. I am banking on Thirsty being the second single. It is the only one other than Supernatural that she keeps talking about and has been mentioned consistently with this project.

That is a good mix of producers. The titles themselves are pretty big talking points because most of them are pretty simple 1-3 word titles. Interesting that she is opening up with a "Big Jim" song. That middle of the album though with the JD/Rodney produced songs 6-9 sounds like a potential cluster that could be skip worthy if the songs aren't on point. Interesting that we don't know who produced "One More Try" yet.

This title is AWESOME. Over the top, a bit cheesy, and screams 'diva' Only Mariah could make this work, really. Plus, I love it divas make fun of their vanity.

Interesting that we don't know who produced "One More Try" yet. Middle of albums are very important for stabilizing it. Think of the middle of Butterfly... There is also a strategy of putting the weaker songs in the middle and sandwiching them between the best of the album... I hope the JD songs are so solid that they help "carey" the album until the end. I would say the last two have Mariah herself as the main producer and whoever she worked with on them as the secondary producers (as opposed to all the the other songs where she's the secondary co-producer)

The title is too much. She should've kept it at either "Me. I Am Mariah" or "The Elusive Chanteuse".
That said I am excited. Oh and standard cover > deluxe

Coco, dahling, my one and only. You know I have nothing but love for you but...let't not pretend that Mariah is the queen of enunciation. She's definitely been known to mumble here and there, especially when she is doing those whispery vocals. Just one more thing Ariana learned from Mariah, LOL. Some more thoughts: - that deluxe cover is NOT FOR ME. It gives me Charmbracelet flashbacks and...no ma'am. Speaking of Charmbracelet, I'm more than a little nervous that she did some recording in Capri. PLEASE don't let it be One More Try. If it's one of the JD/BMC songs, I don't really care. - that wacky parenthetical after Money...did Roc n Roe start playing with her keyboard or did she spill wine on it? WTF?! ^%& - I really was not expecting to wake up to this news but I'm guessing it was planned to coincide with #DEMBABIES birthday and her and Nick's anniversary, so that's cool. - that gospel song at the end of the standard is already giving me best song on the album vibes, a la I Wish You Well and FLAB. I know in my heart of hearts she will have me picking myself up off that floor with that song - I wonder if Mike Will's song will be classy like Brandy's or ratchet like Molly Cyrus's. Either way, really excited. - I've never disliked a song that had the word "Cry" in it. Faith Hill's and Monica's immediately come to mind. - LAMB MODE ACTIVATED. "Lately, they have been calling me the elusive chanteuse." Who, who has been calling you that? Mariah has made a side career out of being persecuted by outside forces and "they" s of the world, dahling. This is totally expected. For the record though, she could be talking about childhood. She has been on record as saying she was called "Mirage" as a child because she never attended classes, which would make her elusive. An extra year of delays and she recycles tracks for the deluxe? Jesus, Mariah. Don't like it, don't buy it. It's really that simple. There's always the standard. It could be worse: she could be tacking Triumphant and Almost Home on there as well. I've always wanted to hear those remixes so I'm glad she is putting them on there. Nope. This looks like Miami Tech, like some kinda trade school. Amen. I was singing this song in the shower and trying to imagine where Mariah will take it vocally. I think I have a good idea. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if she threw a choir on this, though there is a good chance she will remain faithful to the original. She can even do her trademark (as of late) holler during the part "OH! So I don't wanna have to..." This song is pretty much tailor-made for Mariah. It's about damn time she picked a cover of a White classic that actually has soul.

The one thing I can give Mariah credit for is being smart about the songs she chooses to cover. They always fall with in her wheelhouse. She is astute enough to know which songs she can and can't get away with which is why we aren't getting "Careless Whisper" or "Faith" as a cover.

14. “Heavenly (No Ways Tired/Can’t Give Up Now)” I'm hoping for a lifting James Cleveland/ Mary Mary Mash-Up. Slaying da gawds and angels.

Strange, but all the tracks I'm looking forward to the most have the one worded titles. Being that JD/BMC had to make an appearance, I hope they at least serve up some "For The Record" realness, but better.

Good to know because I was reading an interview with her on Mariah Daily this morning and she said she recorded this album everywhere, from Capri to Puerto Rico...
