I wonder how her team is reacting to "You're Mine's" chart performance? Part of me worries that they don't have a hot song to follow it up. Either that, or it's just the calm before the storm. They really can't afford to screw up the next single.

Nah I'm confident they have something fire up their sleeves. Mariah is gonna get the chart topping success she deserves. I see them dropping a hot vid and single in the next two weeks.
She's gonna blow all y'all away so make sure you're sitting back with a glass of her favorite wine. Shes either going to.Caribbean to relax a couple days before the storm, or film music vids a la beyonce.
I have faith in Mimi. Shes a smart chick. Dont ever count her down and out.

I'm confident an uptempo record will precede the album. They should continue to push "You're Mine" at Urban AC and AC and move on soon at CHR/Pop, Urban, and Rhythmic. Call out scores have yet to even come back on "You're Mine" (meaning less than 60% of those polled at any format have even heard it). Her visibility is incredibly low right now.

The next release absolutely will not be a ballad. Not sure how much love radio will give it, but probably more than YM.
Urban radio is the one format where the single's been seeing consistent gains (albeit moderate), but once the next single hits, it will probably drop YM pretty swiftly.

There is no way this album is dropping May 6th though, maybe moved back a couple weeks or so. No i don't have inside "sources" but its just a gut feeling. I just hope by uptempo its really that and not just a speeded up ballad sound. I want a club banger.

Body wise I just dont get Mimi I can understand weight gains/losses over time but in the matter of 4 days she can go from chunky, bloated and borderline fat and then a couple of days later step out and look like she did in "Heartbreaker". Her body weight and look from AI is what i desire for her and hopefully she can keep that look for longer than a few days.

I also feel like the May 6th release date won't completely stick either unless her camp has the next single ready to drop and a promo schedule ready to be knocked out. The fact that her husband is getting more press for his whiteface controversy and that the only headlines she's being mentioned in involve the two of them having sex after they got married, him buying her a diamond bracelet for her "anniversary" and them selling their Bel Air mansion are the makings of a DOA era.

she should stick with the date, but do promo, of course. anything else would be ridiculous. and she should perhaps abandon the usual "big single to launch an album"-strategy and just release it (à la celine or whitney), then see what it does (and promote the hell out of it)

^That seemed to happen with John Legend. His album came out in September without a hit single. He performed "All Of Me" anywhere and everywhere and refused to give up on it. He's currently at #2 on the Hot 100 with that song. Nobody would have guessed that he'd have a hit this size.
Mariah should at least have a new single ready to go in mid April and promote the f*ck out of it!
