Idina Menzel is 42 and killing it with Let It Go right now. Even though it's from a kids soundtrack she is the one being credited. but that's a whole different situation. it's not like they're buying it because of her, it's all because of the song and the movie basically. but in the radio it's not a hit though Regardless this: 5 5 5 19 Let It Go, Idina Menzel 5 is still showing up on the Billboard Hot 100. It's no longer just about radio now. |

Menzel is someone who never had a prior hit- and as mentioned, without the movie, the song would not be the hit it is.
As for Madonna- "4 Minutes" was a pretty sizable hit. But it likely would have been less successful without the presence of a hot, younger collaborator.

I can't get over how flawless she sounds on that climax of You're Mine. I just got chills. That is probably why I had said I preferred YM to WBT. On YM, she makes WBT's climax sound rough in comparison.

I feel bad for saying this but am I the only one who's excited that You're Mine seems to be about purged from the CHR tonight? I think it could possibly (and hopefully) be an indicator to her team to push out a new single immediately so YAY!
That is, only if Mariah and her team actually watches the chart and see or care about how it has been doing...which is doubtful.

Too polished and manipulated. |

YM still shows on Mediabase's Top 40 chart (No. 44), so no purge as of yet. Two Northeast Pa. stations have been its biggest supporters- WBHT (28 spins in the last week) and WKRZ (15). And, funny, we were out bowling Saturday night (for the first time in, like, a year and a half- lots of Wii bowling in that time, though hehe), and YM came on (it wasn't a radio station, though, from what I could tell).
Twenty-two days until Mimi gives birth top her latest baby.

The word you're looking for is soul and WBT had it by the abundance and that is why its what it turned out to be. The reason it was epic compared to the other #1 she scored that era was all in the deep rooted pain , emotion and soul she poured out into it. |

I wonder if it would do her any good to work with Disclosure or someone like them like Mary did. Even if it was just for a remix.
The Cyril Hahn remix of Touch My Body (Unpitched) is glorious, and I'd love to hear her voice on more productions like that. I actually feel like that would be her best bet to get a nineteenth number one. Being a featured artist where she is not the focal point of the song, but her vocals are featured throughout.
