I hope her face starts looking better, its very weird the way its been looking lately. I hope it's a festive July 4th version so she can own another holiday 's anthem, I want a video too. |

I guess she's doing Letterman to promote the album release date and the Today show appearance which is 9 days away?
Maybe she'll bring a sample of her mew single!!!

I guess she's doing Letterman to promote the album release date and the Today show appearance which is 9 days away? Maybe she'll bring a sample of her mew single!!! Afraid not... The interview was short - just one segment. Standard Mariah interview really, no new news - she said that people keep asking her when a new single will out and more will be on iTunes, but she really does want this to be heard as a whole body of work, it isn't going to be a normal release. - she finally finished the album as of 6am this morning. And that was it in regards to the music!! I don't even think she said when the album was out, not that I can remember anyway. They talked about the title and she tried to show him the Time magazine thing on her phone so she could make him his own album title, but it went wrong and she lost it. |

what does she mean it's not a normal release? It's as normal as you can imagine. I don't see any difference from this then Memoirs release.
Anyway, she needs to come back and perform on Letterman once the album is out. But I think this will be her only appearance.

I'm just glad that my favorite diva has avoided the trap of jumping on current trends and featuring the hot artists of the day to get a hit. I respect her for doing the music she wants to do regardless of what may come out of it and all her features are either people she truly enjoys or classic artists of the 90's and beyond. I wouldn't want a desperate, childish first single featuring Iggy!

I think there is nothing wrong with working with what's hot now. It's keeping up with the times. Mariah did it in the 90's when she featured all the hot acts of that time such as Babyface, Boyz to Men, Xscape, Mase, Puffy, ODB, Nas, Joe, 98 Degrees etc. Now she's just stuck in her ways and that's ok but she should embrace the up and coming acts as well. The problem is the talent really is very limited out there. There are very few young artists out there that I would want to see Mariah work with on an album. I think a Mariah/Pink or Kelly Clarkson collaboration could be fun where Mariah lures Pink/Kelly Clarkson back into a nice R&B jam. A Mariah/Frank Ocean collaboration could work beautifully.

Based on Leigh's post, it doesn't sound like she's saying much about the album. The Times Square Appearance earlier this month was fantastic, but I hope her team has more promo planned.
