She's probably on steroids. Why? Is she trying to be a bodybuilder now?

I usually don't think she looks bad at all, even when people are losing their shit about how much work she's had done/how different she looks, etc. but in that Letterman interview she DOES look strange. Her face looks incredibly puffy and she looks the oldest I've ever seen her, outside of the really early AI promo.
I'm sure she'll get herself together by release date but whoever did her look for tonight's show needs to learn to bend to her ever fluctuating weight dahhhling.

OK, that post was a bit shallow, but considering how consistently great she usually looks, especially last year, it's a bit disappointing to see her not looking her best, especially around album release time.
If she is taking steroids, then I feel bad. If it means she can regain strength in her voice, I'm all for it.

We've already heard three tracks on the album, so not sure what Mimi's talkin' about when saying it will not be a typical release.
Maybe she'll perform the album's three singles on Today.

I thought the same HG...it's like she forgot she already released singles from it. I wasn't sure if she meant previews etc too in iTunes. She mentioned something about releasing the album like the old days, so I think maybe she doesn't want people to have heard snippets of every song on the album...she just wants us to listen to it fresh from beginning to end, not knowing what to expect from each song as we play it through (minus the singles of course)

Yeah, that makes sense. No matter how it plays out or if anything else leaks, I won't listen to full songs (barring another single) until the actual release.

Yeah me neither. Thought they would have a single out before it drops but as aforementioned maybe they're waiting for the CD to drop to determine a single by gauging the publics reaction. They should have enough confidence in one song for lead single

I Love the Billoard cover!!! ...I don't know why people are so worried about her look , cheeks, or whatever . She's a grown woman that had twins. Lady's would give anything to look the way she does. anyway, with the right strategy I still think she will get that number one album on the Billboard 200 on the week of May 27.

I still hate that iTunes allows people to choose what singles they want that does not count as an album sale. There should be some kind of rule that if you download 4 or more songs , that it should count as an album sale.

There isn't a single out there now, though, and apparently there won't be one out when the album drops. That isn't normal for a major release.

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear what she meant by "typical release" and I'm pretty sure she knew what she was talkin' bout when she said it, as well. Who knows? Maybe she will perform the 5 singles, including Triumphant and Almost Home!

Maye we will have previews on iTunes, then. To sample or wait... And, didn't she say she did a couple of covers? Maybe the other will be a bonus track somewhere. Or maybe it's "America the Beautiful."

It seems like there is a big difference between how Mariah wants this album to be released and how Def Jam see the release going...
And wait HG! I haven't listened to previews, snippets or leaked songs for any of Mariah's albums and I'm always grateful once I get to put the album on for the first time.
Plus the nice thing about this album is that Mariah has managed to keep a lot of information back, compared to the last couple of albums.

Indeed- the way things have been going, Mimi would've released the tracklist/album cover, etc. on May 27.

The release of the album title alone got so much publicity. It would have been good for the album to have had that much new hype the week it was released.

She definitely looked better last night than those interviews that happened a month ago. I hope the puffy face is steroids and not fat injections in her cheeks. Especially if she plans to keep acting.

Her comments about wanting us to hear this as an entire body of work leaves me with mixed emotions. On the one hand, she must be confident and happy with the entire product to make such a bold statement about it needing to be heard as a cohesive unit. On the other hand, why would having a single ready to service before the album take away from the listening to the entire album aspect? Unless she is afraid based on putting one song out there and potentially having mixed reactions to it that people wouldn't give the rest of the album a chance.

Believe it or not, outside of Mariah fan boards, she is not relevant anymore. For her to release the album without any hit single driving people's interest in her, is a big mistake. Mariah, only your fans will buy it and you don't have that much left anymore. See for yourself by the end of the month. Your album will reach top 10 the first week and drop a LOT the second week and free falls from there.
And for those hypocrites saying it does not matter if this album is a hit or not, weren't you saying You're Mine was so good yet after the song flopped big time, it isn't good anymore?
Truth is, not releasing a single prior to the album's release is an idiotic idea of Mariah. This album will flop big time.

As much as I wish for this álbum tp do good (and I REALLY wish so), you're absolutely right. For exemple in my country nobody cares anymore about her, only die-hard fans like me. It is pretty stupid the way she wants to do things. What irritates me the most is that if the álbum flops, Mariah will blame half of the world and give trillions of excuses. That really puts me off. That and the fact that she's stubborn and kinda delusional at this point.

Great! Where's Coco when you need her? Now that the album is finally about to drop, the heathens come dragging their dusty fonts in here to predict gloom and doom. So typical. It looks like I will have to be on the lookout for people in Oz who have the album. Let the stalking begin!

In one breath you tell us to start believing that Mariah isn't relevant anymore and then in the next, you call us hypocrites if we say that it doesn't matter whether the album is a hit or not. Surely us accepting that the album isn't like to shoot to no 1 with mega sales is us believing that she isn't as relevant as she once was ?!! It sounds to me like you need to accept it more than us, and when you do you might appreciate that now is the time she can afford to be more flexible and play around with how she releases an album without the pressure of making it the album of the decade.

In all sincerity, anyone not expecting this album to flop is kidding themselves and possibly delusional. I wish it was different but it is what it is. At the very least, I hope she delivers some good material for her fans, regardless if the album is a commercial hit or not.

They get to voice their HATE once since not everyone has to like Mariah, however now that she has made her opinions known and we let her, if this slick talking girl keeps coming back with that same opinion she will be dealt with, dismissed and dissected till she not bother coming back. god bless. I have my own warning system

I can see it being certified Gold by the end of the year. With a hit or not.
