My secret favorite part of the interview was when Kimmel brought up that Mariah has 19 #1s and the Beatles have 20 and Mariah was playing nice saying she's not trying to come for the Beatles, etc., when we know damn well she'd love to have that record. The whole "Well, they're a group..." was so hilarious to me. She had to get at least one shot in! Love it.

By the way, I fully expect both T-Swift and Drake to surpass both Mariah and the Beatles eventually.

It might not be a bad idea if she released new music during the Christmas season, or a non-Christmas related song. I used to think it'd be a terrible move, but it would definitely get attention.

Regarding The Beatles' record, I don't know how much Mariah really wants it. Couldn't she have easily been a feature on some really popular artists' records over the past decade or so if she wanted a hit?

Mariah could easily get another #1 with the right feature/collab or an absolute slam dunk of a solo single. I always thought if she teamed up with Drake a few years back, it would def be #1. Not sure now. But I don’t think she really cares at this point.

^ I don’t think a slam dunk solo could do it. In the last 25 years it happened one time with Cher and that was it. The US is way too ageist. Outside of believe I can’t think of any solo songs by women who were at least 50 to have been hits in the US.

The Grammys really showed out here. The fact that this remix can get a nom shows they really are aware of her music, yet the one time they recognize her music in over a decade is for something where she isn't technically nominated.
