One of my friends who is usually only into older electronic music acts and rock took his family to see a recent Mariah Carey Christmas show in Orange County (I think, that's where he lives anyway) and was RAVING about it. Said it was the most fun show he has been to. I love how intact Mariah's legacy is!

I'd be surprised if BIIM actually performed for her. She once said she didnt know if they were friends anymore and at the Lovers & F Festival they had minimal interaction despite performing together.

It isn't necessarily the group. One of them (Nate I believe) made a negative comment about her voice/work habits on Facebook mid-2010s and has also stated frustration that they'd only performed the song together once or something (but at the time they'd performed it at least 4 times). I'm sure that got back to Mariah, which is why she made the comment she did. It was definitively odd that at Lovers & Friends the group was staged separately from her. Wanya came down to then sing the bridge with her and kissed her on the cheek at the end, but she seemingly didn't have any interaction with the other two. Mariah and Wanya were always friends and seem to still be, but it's possible there's tension with the other guys.

Mariah's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" began charting again on Spotify's daily chart on Thanksgiving Day (November 23) and increased dramatically yesterday. It had 804,786 streams globally on Spotify yesterday, so just over 50% of its streams are coming from the USA. "AIWFCIY" had 4.3 million global Spotify streams and only 33% of them come from the USA.

I don’t know that I’ve ever been floored by past musical tributes to Mariah, but tonight’s was spectacular. Patti could totally record LTT, it’s so in her wheelhouse - perfect match. VOL is probably the hardest pop song to cover, and Jenn did her thing - wasn’t expecting to love it, but I did. She hit those runs and the POWER in those sustained notes… flawless! Mariah was definitely honored appropriately, I’m impressed!

I saw Coco Jones receiving some flack. I think she did a perfectly fine job. I think they all made the songs enough their own to avoid direct comparison but didn’t deviate too much that it no longer felt like a Mariah song and tribute.

She did fine. But they booked two of the best well-known vocalists alive and placed them before her, the tribute could/should have ended with Patti, or with someone bigger to join B2M. Ariana would’ve been a great vocal fit, imo.

What would it take for a full disco album from her considering her extensive remix output, Glitter, Meteorite and even Mesmerize. I would love for her to step out of the box and do something left field like this. Can you imagine the album promo?!!

I don't see that happening, but it would be great. I love that side of her (I'd also mention "You Don't Know What to Do" and "I'm That Chick").

Mariah's versions of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" are on the Holiday 100 in positions higher than they've been in years. Merry Christmas remains a classic.

Also, she might perform "All I Live For" in Montreal?!
