I don't know if that person has any inside knowledge or not, but I hope Mariah isn't going back to the well of TEOM yet again. If so it tells me she's just creatively blocked and that's why we haven't had a new album in so long.

The ballads have been Mariah's weak spot since E=MC2. Unless she changes them up, it would be wise if she only recorded a small handful and did not release them as singles. |

Yes, they have gotten a few things right, but they’re also the same insider who said Mariah and Ariana’s teams would go ALL OUT in terms of promotion to ensure the yes and remix was Mariah’s 20th #1 and…crickets.

I like a lot of E=MC^2 but some of the production is very of-the-time. That said, her writing was so on point that one could take the vocal stems and make a more timeless record with it.

I love the fun, upbeat vibe of E=MC2 that happens if you remove most of the formulaic ballads. If there is there a mix of that vibe with the vocals of TEOM then it could be a nice project. Along the same lines, I'd love to get the full "Time of Your Life" or even have her redo it for an album, so it would be cool if she added that to the project since it would fit (since the rumor mentioned was that she samples her own "hit" then "TOML" wouldn't song fit but it could be a cool concept for to revisit some of those Pepsi ringtones to use them as parts of new songs since some of them were stellar). (I say all of that not really believing the rumors anyway, particularly since as Me. I Am l!nk!nfan815... said the pre-release comparisons we get rarely make sense. Wasn't "Bye Bye" compared to "Breakdown" or something? I'll definitely wait for official news like @mrlevinefor me, but I also do love speculating and more so just putting out ideas of what I'd like to see happen.) |

I completely forgot the physicals for Music Box 30 were coming out this month! My doorbell rang and there was a package and I was like WTF is this? I got the Japanese import because it had a DVD with the Proctor show, videos, bonus content. I'm so mad, I didn't realize it was Region 2. Why don't I have a region free player yet with all the imported shit I buy?
But just listening through it, everything sounds so clean and crisp. The bonus material and the live show are great. And the full cover is beautiful, still can't believe they cropped it like that. Admittedly, I didn't pay too much attention outside of the new tracks with the digital release, but this is formatted so badly IMO. Tack the unreleased tracks and b-sides to the album, give us a full disc of all the remixes and then move all the live stuff to the third disc. A ton of wasted space IMO, but oh well. A nice collection overall though.

Those twitter accounts are bogus. They make up shit and post it and keep the tweets of whatever sticks (even a broken clock is right twice a day) and delete the tweets that turn out to be untrue (the majority).
Anyway, "I'll Be Lovin U Long Time" might just be Mariah's best summer song. I just adore it. Her 00's "All In Your Mind". 💕
I would love another bright, fully sung, frothy, upbeat track like that on the new album.
