I think she'll get in eventually, so I wouldn't take this too hard. I mean, it took this long for Cher to be inducted, which is crazy.

I don't have time to be pressed about the Rock and Roll hall of shame because I never paid attention to it prior to Mariah's nomination, and to be honest I'm still reeling and processing from seeing her show Wednesday. If you guys get a chance to go, do it. It was probably the most raw (in a good way) show of hers I've seen, and it had moments that made me unexpectedly emotional. We were up in the 400s section (middle balcony), but the energy from the lambs was rampant no matter where you sat. During "Hero" a man proposed to his now fiance in our section, which was completely unrelated to the show and made it clearer than ever the connection people feel to that song. My sister kept talking about Mariah's performance of "Looking In" after the show, and I'm pretty sure that solidified her as a certified lamb - the Mariah related insta shares between us hasn't stopped all week. FLAB seemed to have just as big of a reaction as WBT, which really feels like it is now an undeniable classic in her catalogue. The whole place was singing their asses off, and the crowd was just pure fun. Mariah sounded fantastic and really looked like she was comfortable in her element - surrounded by the unconditional and unwavering love from her lambs. The graciousness she showed the fans in the front and the banter/signing items back and forth was just as fun as watching her sing. That connection we all share with her is precious and unbreakable, and seemed to be on display all night. Just an absolute stellar night, I wont ever forget it. Cannot wait to go back and see her this summer. Reading this made my day! So happy that you and your sister went and had such a brilliant time!!!

I'm not surprised at all that she didn't get in. Haters!

It sucks she wasn't inducted but it was expected. Eventually she'll get inducted. I look forward to it.

I think the thing that makes me angriest about the Hall of Fame is the response some of the voters put out about her really harkens back to her early days and how critics really tried to diminish her as an artist. Their narratives really mimic that, and it pisses me off because I thought we were moving away from that.

I think SUD could change minds.
I guess even if there is no music released this year, surely something big is planned for MC30? It'd be hard to top the 25th anniversary, but 30 is a big milestone.

It sounds similar to the Grammy voters who refuse to vote for Lana Del Rey for her 2012 SNL performance. This is the bad kind of not acknowledging time.

I know it's not much, but I don't think I've ever heard that snippet. It's crazy how many things still come out of the woodwork. It's not like the 1990s were the dark ages lmao.

He is! Daniel scored 3 U.K. No.1 hits and a few Top Tens. I'd love for this duet to be released.

Do we think this will actually get released? I'd say it depends whether Mariah has any control over it. I found this from August 2002 saying he had written the song and planned to sing it with Mariah: www.mcarchives.com/artikel.asp?id=1174If he wrote it and she didn't help, he might own the song and can do what he wants with the song itself. I assume he'd also need to own the master (or have some influence with it) to be able to release the recorded version.

Yup! The man behind pop classics like Gotta Get Through This and If You're Not The One. Wait. Played Gotta Get through this and that was my JAM. Never really connected this was same person. That picture looked like a West Life group member That track was on heavy rotation at the gay clubs too but I was drunk!

I would love for this to see the light of day, especially if it sounds like the material on his debut (which is fire). I love Daniel!

LOL I was gonna say that when I saw she had worked with Daniel, I shouldn't be surprised because she duetted with Westlife and I wondered if it was during that same time (i.e., the Rainblow era), but it looks like it was around Charmlessbracelet era or post-Glitter, so I don't know if I REALLY want it, ya know?

I would be interested to know the number of collaborations that she worked on between Glitter and before the launch of The Emancipation of Mimi that were shelved. I know many were reluctant because of her public perception at the time.

I was adamant that we’d get a new album this year, but it’s looking highly unlikely at this point.
