Excited for the remix, but I fail to see why it warrants a Tuesday release. This means that its first week will be split up into two charting weeks…almost completely guaranteeing Mariah will not end up being credited for the remix, once again.

It's not like this remix is going to do much and the original has been falling for weeks, so I don't think a chart credit is the goal. (The original version is down at #55 on the Hot 100 after peaking weeks ago, so a chart credit would mean Mariah gets a like #50 hit at best.) |

I thought the point of the remix was to get a Grammy nomination. I’m not expecting them to push this. If they were looking for this to do anything chart wise, this remix would have existed like 3-4 months ago.

I’m not expecting the remix to do numbers either, but it has been noticeable how her team doesn’t try to get Mariah another chart entry. GTFO was close to charting but its release in the middle of the week caused it to miss. Then undeniably, Mariah was the reason Big Energy was revitalized and charted as high as it did but no effort was made to secure her a credit. I am not expecting a remarkable chart performance, I am just hoping that Mariah’s team and label makes smarter choices if we head into MC16. It’d be nice to see Mariah charting on the Hot 100, even if in the lower region. |
