I just noticed in the special that when she says “nineteen number ones” the camera angle is zoomed out (just for that line).

Nice rendition. Good on Billy for not only promoting the Christmas special (I guess that's what he was on James Corden's show for?) but performing this Mariah song as well. "Miss You Most (At Christmas Time)" really is gorgeous, isn't it? The way that bridge comes in and the modulation following it... Whew—Mariah wrote such killer songs with Walter! Too bad they haven't written more Christmas songs, especially, aside from AIWFCIY, MYM and JBOTD. I doubt there's anything Christmas-related from them in Mariah's vault. |

That Billy performance led me to re-watch this from last year:
I like the whole thing (like Mariah speaking Swedish), but from 5:11 on is when it's really next level. Mariah freaking out that Christmas can't be canceled, then re-purposing the tree, and then cracking up at the very end is all kinds of awesome.

Billy did a wonderful job. And come to think of it, I’m surprised Mariah didn’t do something with this song to pay tribute to covid victims.
I think her lack of acknowledgment of this song is either:
It is about her family or possibly the death of someone close to her.
Or, Tommy made her and Walter (t) write a big Christmas ballad and she has no connection to it at all.

This! I have always made the statement that I think Oh Holy Night is Mariah's strongest recorded vocal in her entire catalogue. Open to discussion lol Also, I would love a rendition of Miss You Most with her current vocals. It's mostly a mid-register song which I think Mariah underutilizes grossly. |

I was reading about how the BTS and Blackpink fans organize to improve the chart positions for their releases.
The Lambs could borrow from these tactics to get Mariah her 20th #1.

I love how people are now saying Mariah turned down Ariana's mic (as if they were singing live) and had her tone it down. That light, airy voice is evident on Ariana own Christmas album. If anything Mariah toned herself down so all 2 ladies had opportunities to shine.
