I love seeing her discuss her songs so casually on Twitter. She seems much freer compared to earlier in the decade. Very glad to her she loves "I've Been Thinking About You" and "To Be Around You." Such wonderful uptempos!
Hmmm, I don't know, but I think Taylor's new song would have a lot of work cut out for it to hit #1 over "All I Want for Christmas is You." Not saying it won't happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't #1.

Also, we are NOT worthy of this Twitter interaction! Like, Mariah chatting about her catalogue with fans as if she is just one of us?! Wtf?! It is basically like if she wandered into Pulse and told us her thoughts on whatever discussion we were having πππ I watched an interview with Lenny Kravitz years ago in which he was discussing his music. He was asked to name the songs of his he didn't like and he replied "I don't have any." The reporter was shocked and went "For real?" and Lenny said "Yes. I don't dislike any of my songs. Not one. I definitely have a few close to my heart, that are personal favorites, but I don't dislike any of my songs. I wrote them." I instantly wished Mariah would be like that, cause that was back in 2011 when she was still guarded, going off on tangents changing the subject, or straight up shading songs from her back catalog (especially the 90s) and was only pushing whatever was new. These days, since 2018 particularly, she's so relaxed, open and cool when discussing her music. She's even made a 180 on a lot of her early music. We love a confident, unbothered legend! π Was Lenny ever forced to make a certain kind of music or not given control of his music? That makes a big difference. Mariah's issues with certain songs tend to have to do with the experience of making them or being forced to make them, not whether or not they are good songs. Madonna is another artist who has expressed dislike for older songs. That makes sense because her image became so tied to certain songs. Lenny Kravitz never really had that issue either as his image hasn't ever really changed.

I see your point, but it's not like Mariah didn't use to diss songs from even before the corporate morgue's influence (about "Prisoner" in 2003: "It was crap on the demo, it was crap on the album and it's still crap!"). Or that self-penned pop song she trashed and hated that wasn't even put on the debut album (my hunch tells me it's that Penny Ford song "I Lose Control"). But like I said, these days she has a FAR more comfortable, softer and "go with the flow" attitude about this.

LOL I was listening to the song last night and for a moment I thought "weird how he hasn't come out of the woodwork this holiday season"! He should thank his lucky stars for that song.

WICKED COOL: After 26 years of its release, in its 104th week on the Official U.K. chart, "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey has reached the No.1 spot.
"Want" becomes her third U.K. No.1., it had previously peaked at No.2 in 1994, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Heβs not a bad guy but some fans have created this whole thing in their heads based solely off rumours that not even Mariah started. Oh well youβre only adding fuel to a fire that could forever burn and prevent the greatest writing pair since Lennon-McCartney to reunite. I guess JD is a close second.

Bless my little heart as I try to learn how this board works - but I did some research (on Wikipedia lmao), and found the list of songs in 2020 that held the No. 1 spots simultaneously in the UK and the U.S. If Mariah is No. 1 on Tuesday's Billboard's update, does that mean we can add her to this list?
The Weeknd β "Blinding Lights", 11 April, 25 April 2020 (two weeks)[97][98][99]
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande β "Rain on Me", 6 June 2020 (one week)[100][101]
DaBaby featuring Roddy Ricch β "Rockstar", 13β20 June, 4 July 2020 (three weeks)[102][103][104][105]
Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion β "WAP", 19β26 September 2020 (two weeks)[106][107][108]
Ariana Grande β "Positions", 31 October 2020 (one week)[109][110]
