I'm glad that she's not giving him the time of day. He's making statements as if he knows what she's CURRENTLY going through. Judging by her latest candids, Mariah appears to be in a good place and I hope she proves any of the doubters with her Christmas New York shows.

Throwing out there that we have "information we can't share" to validate the implications she is a drug addict and that her kids are being abused or something is so reckless and irresponsible. A irrelevant radio show with a washed up producer who is bitter about his bank roll not working/talking to him.
They don't deserve the attention, its basically dishrag magazine fodder.

It was weird how he came for her out of the blue, when he used to always be complimentary of her. I mean, he would always praise her even when she threw him shade, lol. Last week though on the BB article, and now on this interview he was unnecessarily bitchy and judgemental towards her (notice him also mocking her "emblazoned" lyric). However, as you said, knowing how he approached her for them to do something about the MC anniversary and she wasn't interested, his attitude kind of makes sense now. |

It's crazy because even if there was a shred of hope before, it's gone now. I'm glad though, now these damn "fans" can stop coming in here every few months demanding she work with Walter again. She needs to bring that VOICE to the US. However my only fear is that even in full voice due to lack of album sales they will fin something else to rag on her over here. If she is doing smaller venues or there is lack of attendance in certain cities. I guess according to walter and that other queen on that shit radio station Toyko was the result of drugs and I guess she stopped taking drugs for the rest of the shows! |

The only issue I take with Walter is speaking about her personal life. You haven't been in her life since Butterfly, so you don't know a damn thing about what is going on in her life to offer your commentary. Now, I do agree with him about the songwriting aspect going downhill in pop music, and how we get artists going to the same 5 song writers, so their songs and artistry never really develop an identity.

This tour is getting her voice in shape nicely for the new album the same way Angels Advocate tour did for MCIIY. I did read a couple articles citing her improvement in the following dates, but yeah nothing compared to the amount of bad press following the first show. It's not surprising though; of course folks would focus on the negative instead of the positive.  I think it has a lot to do with the large presence of social media today. I bet that if twitter and such were around in 2003, Charmbracelet tour would be remembered as a disaster for its initial couple of dates, where her vocals weren't up to par, even though that tour resulted in her best vocal era since 1996. Anyway, it seems Mariah sang a snippet of "Sent From Up Above" (yea, I know :'( !!!!!!!!!!!!!) on the last stop, but much like the "I Wish You Well" snippet it has yet to surface... |

That's the thing about first impressions, you only get to make one. She doesn't have anything to prove but if she would like to, I still think airing something on television would help since that would gives more visibility than a review.
Also, I'm so glad she's improved and has been consistently better than the first shows. Hopefully she slays NY and continues to get good press. Every little bit helps.

She needs to be on her A game for the first night of the NY Christmas shows. Those will get their own separate reviews, but they're going to come out after opening night. Doesn't matter what she does on the nights that follow.
