I can't believe I watched that filth. At least, now I know what Walter Alfalfa looks like. For the record, it's not the first time someone has made a random claim about Mariah having a drug problem. Some nobody who claimed to be part of her inner circle said he watched in shock as she hoovered up a whole plate of coke or something. I swear, when dem paychecks fail to be direct deposited, people start feeling all SORTS of ways. Tickets go on sale to the public for her shows today, right??

Yup, I'll be trying to snag some better seats than the upper orchestra I currently have.

I'm spending $75 dollars tops. Between hosting people and vacation/travel between now and January, I need to not be spending $250 on a concert ticket, even Mariah. I am excited for the show though because usually it seems like I am waiting 4-6 months from when I buy a ticket to when I see a show and now, it's right around the corner!

I'm inputting that as my max budget and seeing what I can come up with (even if it's just a few rows closer. I don't think these will be hard tickets to resell). The Beacon is also a small venue, there isn't a bad seat in the house (and even up in the orchestra, I am sure the entire place will be on its feet. Which is all I care about).

When I lived in Boston and Mariah came for Adventures of Mimi (which, looking back, I wish I hadn't attended Angels Advocate was WAAAAY better and cheaper), I think I paid like $140 for floor seats, which was standing general admin so I couldn't see at all really until she popped up on that second stage next to me. So, maybe it was worth the price for that section of the show but yeah, I am excited just to be there to bask in the glow. She'll have had a couple days to rest her voice by the time the Thursday show comes around. Let's see what she does with that time. NO splashes, Mariah!

Mess. My coworker was over at my desk 2 minutes before 12. I logged onto Ticketmaster at 12:01 and it is just searching and searching. I set it for best available so we'll see what happens. If not, I'll check for Sunday night but I'd rather not see her on the last night of the tour. Who knows, it could be more festive but she might be lipsynching for her life that night.

I'm not sure how these things work, but being that she's Mariah Carey, I'd think she'd probably host a show of this sort in a larger venue. I don't know, I just feel that she could easily sell out a night in an arena and accommodate more people doing so... What's the Beacon's capacity?

I found one on Thursday, it's up in the lodge, kinda wanted to be in the orchestra though but it's a smaller venue, right? So not too many BAD seats?

The Beacon's capacity is about 2,800 I think.
I guess it depends what her intentions are. If she wants to add to the NYC Christmas scene, give the locals and tourists another show like the Rockettes to see year after year in the heart of NYC, I think she's made the right choice.

Judging by the comments and photos I've seen, I don't think there are any bad seats in the Beacon. I saw Aretha at Radio City earlier this year - admittedly, I was in the orchestra but looking around, I did think to myself at the time that any of the seats in that place would have had a great view. From what I've seen, the Beacon is very similar to Radio City. I was just offered three second row seats (row BB) on Thursday 18th - shame I can't afford Ā£280 per ticket right now!

I should have bought them to resell - like kmbgs just said, I could have made a nice tidy profit judging by the prices I'm seeing!

Creating a seasonal "event" rather than just a concert. Plus, it'll gross more money and press by having a lower number of seats, being at one venue, and selling out quickly and easily. Also, maybe she's trying for a Tony.

Close to giving up. I have seen her before so I will survive if it doesn't happen, but it would be nice because I have never seen her Christmas classics live. Plus, this is the kind of endeavor I need to undertake when I am at home and not at work, dealing with people walking by my desk every 5 minutes. Ticketmaster is blocked and my phone is being slow and annoying. Plus, I had to go to lunch and lost time there.

So rather frustratingly I've pulled up tickets for Thursday (a pair, standard admission, i the BALC and LOGE) and both times when I clicked buy, there was an error and I lost the tickets. Hmm.

Same thing happened to me kmbgs. I got row E tickets that I was buying for a friend and lost them twice when I clicked buy because of 'an error'. I haven't managed to find them again since. Edit: make it a third time. I'm giving up.
