Would the mic feeds of others being terrible somehow make hers any less terrible? No. This doesn't help your case.Β The performance was poor. Sorry. No boo, I'm sorry you can't recognize true talent and that your obviously deaf. *you're

I think she got a lot of attention and focus because of the nature of the event, the negative press she received for being a no-show the night before, and that she is known for having a spectacular voice. I mean, it is bad that Lady Gaga out-did her in the singing department and I usually cannot stand Gaga.

That really wasn't good. She had some sweet moments, but I don't see how anyone can sit here and defend those (literal) squeals when she went for those high notes. Her voice is shot. Sad, but true. I don't see where anyone has defended the squeals. In fact as "blind" as some of you are claiming lambs to be, some of you are blind to what we are actually writing. NO ONE has said it was a perfect or genuinely grata performance. It's just that some of us think this isn't a cause for retirement. The belting sounded good and is better than some of the current girls could do. Why do we have to focus on the notes she missed? It's so tiresome. I'd hate to go through life with the miserable attitude some of you have; it can't be fun.

Did I miss something? Are you all deaf? If ya'll think Mariah sounds bad, then you must also think all the other singers of the world sound worse. Cause even on a bad day, Mariah sounds an infinity times better than those skanks running around on awards shows gyrating their naked asses together. Or maybe thats it. Maybe ya'll cant recognize true talent unless they are half naked gyrating their asses together. Every person who thinks that was an awful performance needs to move to Antartica. ANd take NIck Cannon with you. And all those other skanks who call themselves singers. PUh-lease. Just look back to her most recent tour footage. I imagine Antartica is the name of some underground art exhibit filled with nothing but this.

Let's here the live mic performances of the rest of them.... Right. There was that feed of Taylor Swift's off key "Shake It Off" but people weren't calling for her retirement. It's just jealous haters taking advantage. This performance really doesn't deserve what some of you are giving. It says more about you all than about Mariah. It's funny how y'all never post here until it's something negative.

It's funny how this thread is suddenly infested with criticism right after an average performance from Mariah. Meanwhile, we didn't see any comments from the same people last month when she was delivering one brilliant performance after another. It is really telling.

Right, totally baffling that a heavily publicized holiday event with a significant viewer pull that happened to feature mariah is getting more feedback than whatever performance it was that nobody happened to see earlier. That's logic for you.

You know the gerls like to come out when they smell something to troll about. Some of these gerls up in here don't even care for Mariah yet they're here doing the most. It's so transparent.

Thank you. What performances was she giving before? I must have missed them. Sorry I wasn't looking at random iPhone recordings of her Asian tour dates.

If you weren't looking it's because you aren't a fan, which still then begs the question of why you then felt a need to come in and discuss the performance last night. What is your intent here?

It's funny how y'all never post here until it's something negative. 1. Taylor and Mariah aren't comparable, though. One is absolutely on FIRE right now, while the other is past her prime, and seems to be the target for harsh criticism because of her vocal issues. 2. The press/critics love Taylor right now; there's no way the negative vitrol could reach the peak that Mariah's has lately. 3. The general public is nitorious for building huge stars and inflating their egos and then tearing them down the INSTANT that "untouchable" facade begins to crack. I think most people have moved on from Mariah, and instances like this certainly don't help her negative reputation with the general public. Sure, she sang live, BUT the tardiness and vocal issues are going to be talked about. The media crelates controversy, and Mariah herself IS responsible for some of that. Mariah is a legend because of her voice; it's expected the press/publlic would jump on a performance like this without a second thought. Anyway, I'm off to sip coco and cozy up with "Merry Christmas," tbh.

Uhhhh... you can politely sit down somewhere with that trash. I've been with this woman from the beginning, when the first album I ever bought with my allowance money was her debut back in 1990. And I proudly own every album of hers to date. I remember where I was on 9/11 when the towers fell. Do you? Because I was at Circuit City buying the damn Glitter soundtrack, lmao. So don't even attempt to question my fandom for Mariah. Sorry I'm not up her @ss when she gives a bad vocal performance. Or trolling the internet for her concert performances in Podunk, South Korea.

Well thank you. But all you have to do is go through my recent posts to see all the wonderful things I have to say about Mariah. I went through the first twenty pages because I have no life and its 95% positive. But believe me, when Mariah f**ks up, I'm calling her out on it. As for links... no thanks. I don't need links to performances that I've seen a million times already. Again, been a fan for going on 25 years, I don't need schooled on The Voice.

Coco?... The thread title changes week too week...should the next one be called insecurity? No. I don't stan for bum bitches so there will never be insecurity. I was surprised when i got a glimpse of bum bitchiness in my notifications. Sorry for the late reply i was celebrating that I got 97% on my exam and was working to respond faster to people glued to my every actions and thread titles that i totally forget even happened! Thanks fan. Speaking of bum bitches. U would think this was the GRAMMY awards with all the buzz! bunch of secret fans checking for M.C. Love it. I thought her performance was just alright. Nothing great or bad but the fact its drawing this type of attention just shows when your the Queen, you will always be the queen and the peasants will gather. Now that you had your little crumbs GTFO. swine flu looking MF'ers

That performance was pretty unfortunate, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it's being made out to be.
I was a little disappointed, though, because just a few days ago I had been telling a friend that I think Mariah has/had the greatest voice ever, and then we watched that performance last night and he looked at me like I was crazy. Ugh, Mariah.

As I've already said, the performance wasn't a disaster, rough spots, sure. Her voice is clearly not up to par with her past vocals, but she's shown improvement. (She sounded DAMN good on the Asian tour!!!) It was cold outside (remember Beyonce at the inauguration??? She fucking lip synched!) I applaud her for doing it live, especially after I thought she was talentless when she "sang" to vocal tracks a few years ago... (This was before I heard she had nodes, so I didn't know why she would do that. And I was like 10.) Many of you clearly aren't performers or you would realize how good the performance was based on the circumstances, was it GREAT, no... was it AWFUL, no... it was okay, and that's it. That's all. End of story. No retirement. No RIP MIMI. None of that. She gave an okay performance. End of discussion.
