Mimi tour, which I went to, has been my least favorite. I'd rank it ahead of the Angels Advocate tour probably (which was boring), but that's it. She kind of sounded like shit on the Rainbow tour, but at least it was fun.

I'm expecting a DVD/Blu Ray release as well. All for it plus new music is coming along as well.

I loved the Mimi tour. Did you see it live? Live the show was a lot of fun. Yes, I saw it live. She sounded much better and was a lot looser for the Charmbracelet and Elusive tours and the Christmas shows (post-2000). I suppose I haven't earned my lamb badge yet. I've only seen her Mimi tour

I love Taylor, but she should not even be brought up in this thread.
Excited to see the footage that comes from this show! She's been singing great as of lately, and I'm just excited to hear her next album as well!
Also, at first I thought Mimi was a bitch, but after watching a lot of her interviews, she's hilarious, and it's funny! Nothing but respect for her!

Did anyone catch during the Ellen interview when Mariah was like "The first time I went to Australia was during the Butterfly tour so it was a while ago...you know, like two years ago."
I DIED.

I didn't know she was on Ellen or I would have recorded it...
Is there a video of it online?

Regarding this Vegas residency, does this mean we're finally getting a live version of "Fantasy" with that GLORIOUS original chorus again? :'( Why would it mean that? I wouldn't get my hopes up. I can't at Ellen asking Mariah if she has khakis. I also can't with Mariah dissing her own songs. The audience went crazy over getting tickets!

I'm excited about the new music that'll be on the #1s CD. It'll be interesting to see who she collaborates with.
You know the funny thing- Nick has begged Mariah to sing "Someday" for years, and now after their divorce, she'll be singing it for her Vegas show. :kii: I expect she'll inject some anger into that one- kind of how she growls that "I will hunt you down" part in "Touch My Body" now.

So she is only doing the Number Ones? Great that the forgotten hits from the debut can be performed again, but no non-Number Ones? Then again outside Make It Happen and All I Want For Christmas Is You, none of them are remembered now, are they? Can't Let Go Without You Butterfly If It's Over Anytime You Need A Friend .....there's a lot of non-number ones that are definitely known. Hmm Without You I agree with for I forgot that but I don't think the rest them are actually remembered now. Maybe It's Like That, since she's been performing it for a long time.

I think you fail to understand how simple and naive you sound. What recording artist after decades do people of a different generation know about their album cuts when they perform it live? You have to understand there will be many fans coming to the show or people who were fans of music during those specific songs time. Can't Let Go, Without You , Butterfly, If It's Over and Anytime You Need A Friend aren't some obscure end of the album cuts. Many others would die to have song like that at in their repertoire. The whole notion that songs 15 years after their release or longer in some of those cases need to be at the tip of this generations tongue is never the case, people always remember the major hits but they also love the non hits that made the artists complete. besides if they don't know it when they hear those songs they wont be saying wtf is that, they will be saying wow what a great song and that would further educate the fools on music anyways. I listen to singers from many a generations ago and I don't stop at their major hits, i can remember album cuts from Diana Ross that you might think is forgotten but to lots of people isn't and are even of better quality than some of her major hits.

It depends what audience you are talking about. Her loyal fans will all remember those songs, of course. I think many adults will at least recognize them. Current teens and kids won't recognize many of her '90s songs outside of the big ones, but I doubt those people will be going to this show anyway. It's too bad Fallon does his show in NY. It would be cool if throughout the residency she were able to go on his show and do versions of different #1s. As in, every Tuesday night or whatever for 1-2 months she would go on and do something with a different #1 each time (a classroom instrument one, a skit one, a thing for fans, and so on).

Dahling, wishing for something that will never happen is not a productive way to spend one's time. Mariah has incorporated these mannerisms into her public persona for longer than I can remember. For the record, I can't relate to anyone as rich as Mariah. I'm not rich as Taylor Swift, but guess you what? I can really relate to her as a person. And most of the people ain't rich as her either but can relate to the human being she is. and who's sittin' on the top of the world right now in the music industry You must have gotten lost, Boo Boo Bear. There's a thread for that. {Spoiler}It ain't this one... Actually, Jazzy has a point about lipping in Vegas. Not sure that, after I saw all of that miraculous live singing at her Christmas show, that I could handle spending all that money on airfare just to see songs that I no longer listen to being lipped. But...idk, depending on the spectacle of it all, it could still be fun. Also, I liked the AA tour WAAAY more than Mimi but it might be because I liked the songs from MOAIA so much and she was also loose and chatty and sounded great on the AA tour.

Look like Nick filed for divorce on Dec 12.
Meaning they will be divorced by the start of her Vegas shows. Well, if she loses a lot of her money at least she'll immediately start earning a couple million per month again.

Nick made a considerable amount of money as well so I don't feel that this divorce will end up being a "money" thing. Hopefully the custody is done amicably.

We don't know the details of the prenup, but I am pretty sure it was reported that there was one. I'm also pretty sure Mariah and/or her legal team are smart enough to protect herself. Mariah had learned that lesson a few times pre-Nick. That isn't to say Nick didn't get anything, but as has been said, he made money, too.
Really, the issues are probably related to things like the house in L.A. That is a real money drain at the moment, and I assume they will have to both pay on it or whatever unless they can sell it soon. I don't know how many houses involve both of them at this point, and there is surely other stuff, too (including the kids).

Nick Cannon beat Mariah Carey to the courthouse ... we've learned he has quietly filed for divorce.
The timing is interesting. We found out Nick filed papers December 12. The date is relevant because on December 2, Mariah showed up 3 hours late to tape a segment for the NBC tree-lighting special.
At the time we posted a story ... Mariah was on the phone with her lawyers going over the terms of her property settlement. That syncs up with Nick filing papers a week later, after they hashed out a deal.
Short story ... Mariah has completely detached Nick from her new, very lucrative deal in Vegas.Read more: http://www.tmz.com#ixzz3P0jShcgG

Nick should go back to Christina Milian, an artist of his caliber, status, and pay grade.

Or when Ellen says "and now the twins are four?" and Mariah reacts by gasping "Nooo, not yet! Not til April, don't rush all of our liiiives."

I had to make this i-tunes playlist for obvious reasons... That makes me think it's going to be a double disc release. All the #1s on the first disc and then a few new songs and some other choices on the second disc. Unless they go with some radio edits of a few the tracks and try to squeeze 2 or 3 new songs on 1 disc.

I've been listening to #1s today. As much as I'm looking forward to having an updated version with new songs, I think I will always go back to the original collection. I feel so much nostalgia for the #1s album - I used to listen to it constantly when it was released on my CD Walkman, and it was one of three cassettes I took traveling with me back in the day.
I love everything about it - both the front and back artwork, how it's ordered in reverse chronological order, the standard new songs plus the UK bonus song 'Do You Know Where You're Going To'. I think many disagree, but I LOVE her vocals on I Still Believe too.
Up until the #1s album, I kind of ignored pre-Daydream Mariah. It opened up a whole world of greatness to my life!! I had also never heard the Fantasy remix until I played #1s for the first time!
