"Now Mariah, you know I love you I've loved you all my life But I wouldn't be a friend or even a fan If I didn't give you the real You've been hanging on to this dude Knowing he doing you dirty Why don't you just cut this guy loose? You know, tell him it's a wrap Because you better than that And you Mariah Carey, remember? Shit"
I'm here for more shade.

Re: the Ellen appearance, has anyone mentioned the hilarity of Mariah trying to control that housekeeping cart? She basically ran it into the wall. I also loved it when she basically ran away from that group of 4 woman. LMAO!

They should discount the #1's album and the debut for the whole year.

Just imagining what I'd say to mariah if she surprised me at the hotel like those fans it'd probably go something like
"OMG i love you mariah, i love Babydoll, I love The Roof, I love Melt Away, I love Don't Stop Funkin 4 Jamaica!!!"

Mariah will have no trouble not talking about him but I forsee a lot of fines in the future for him....
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have a prenup with a confidentiality clause ... and if she blabs out of school she gets socked for twice what he'd have to pay if he violates it.
Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... if Nick violates the confidentiality clause he has to pay her a $250,000 penalty, but if she spills the beans she has to pay him $500K.
And the prenup makes it clear ... Mariah came into the marriage with a boatload of money ... Nick, not so much.
The prenup says Mariah is worth $150 million ... she has so much, $30 million is listed as "miscellaneous." Nick came into the marriage in 2008 with a little less than $500K.
He's done well since then, making millions on his various projects, but when they married he ended up buying her engagement ring for $500,000 but took a loan out for $470K. The ring was reportedly worth $2.5 mil, but that's not what he paid.
As we reported ... they've already worked out a full property settlement agreement.

I've been listening to #1s today. As much as I'm looking forward to having an updated version with new songs, I think I will always go back to the original collection. I feel so much nostalgia for the #1s album - I used to listen to it constantly when it was released on my CD Walkman, and it was one of three cassettes I took traveling with me back in the day. I love everything about it - both the front and back artwork, how it's ordered in reverse chronological order, the standard new songs plus the UK bonus song 'Do You Know Where You're Going To'. I think many disagree, but I LOVE her vocals on I Still Believe too. Up until the #1s album, I kind of ignored pre-Daydream Mariah. It opened up a whole world of greatness to my life!! I had also never heard the Fantasy remix until I played #1s for the first time! I totally get you! I love the whole look of that album. I was only a casual fan until that album came out and it opened me up to a lot of her older songs that I was too young to remember and made me the lamb I am today. And I agree about the vocals on "I Still Believe". She was a little hoarse but she sounded so emotional. And the Morales Classic mix was everything.

This just goes to show he shouldn't get a damn penny from her period. He was pretty much nothing before he entered that marriage, and he made a bulk of his money after that marriage. He should be thanking her every single day for that.

Not that compilations sell a heckuva lot anymore, but I imagine the updated #1s album probably would be regarded as a separate release from the original #1s? I'd guess so, given the addition/removal of tracks.
jeng- where did she diss her songs on Ellen? I watched it on YT (the one that had two parts posted separate, and didn't take note of it).

I thought she was worth 510 million? Not all reporting on celebrities monetary figures is ever accurate. I can tell you though she is worth a hell lot more than $150 million and probably a bit less than $500 million. I have seen some celeb stated to be worth 500 million in one major publication and then 800 in another. I guess it all depend on what is being counted an what they are looking at sources or income or net worth.

I thought she was worth 510 million? The prenup was done back in 2008, and I'm sure she didn't list all of her assets, etc. AIWFCIY has topped 50 million in royalties alone. That just gives you an idea how much money she gets. Plus all the albums and singles she's sold world wide. Her properties, her frangances, jewlery, clothing, etc. And a lot more we don't know about. Networh is a combination of all those assets. Btw, that whole part about the ring has to be a lie.

Back to Vegas for a second. I know it the #1's theme and all and they did say she would add other songs. If I was Mariah i would make sure to include her hits "Obsessed" and more importantly her most recent hit "Beautiful" I would hate her to stop at 2008, because both of those songs were major hits at this point of her career.

Maybe $150 mil is what she earned since being married to Nick? Isn't that how marriage works, any money she earned before him is untouchable and everything after is community property? At least that's how I understand it - I've never been married, though. Nor rich. Lol

Mariah Carey About to Make “Epic” Move Back to L.A. Reid and Sony (EXCLUSIVE)
EXCLUSIVE Mariah Carey is coming back to Sony and Epic Records. Carey, I am told, is basically done at Universal Music Group and DefJam Records. Her last release, last June’s “Me.I. Am Mariah,” was a spectacular sales flop, not crossing the 250k mark. (It was actually lower.) The elusive chanteuse has never really equaled her DefJam hits “The Emancipation of Mimi” and “E=MC2.” And all of her loyalists from the DefJam days are gone, starting with former label chief L.A. Reid.
Reid left DefJam for Epic, where he had a slow and bumpy start after an unfortunate detour into “American Idol.” But now he’s on roll with mega hit Meghan Trainor, not to mention Sara Barielles, Bonnie McKee, Fifth Harmony, A Great Big World, The Fray, and Kongos. Reid is the only one in the biz who could relaunch Carey as an adult star– no more hip hop– and may be the only one wants to.
More importantly, Sony has incentive. Most of Mariah’s classic catalog of albums is still there from her Tommy Mottola days. Reid’s first move might be to do a Mariah-and-guests duets album of her hits like “Dreamlover” and “Vision of Love” a la Barbra Streisand.
One source tells me: “It’s in the works and should be done shortly.”
Another sign: a blind item on hitsdailydouble claiming a major legacy pop star just dissed his/her record execs backstage at her show. Carey held court at the Beacon Theater in December for about a week. Just sayin’…
And don’t forget: Carey is about to take over from fellow Epic star Celine Dion at Caesar’s in Las Vegas. The Butterfly singer is ready for a resurgence. The only thing she still needs: a manager. Someone she actually listens to. She’s been through several in the last couple of years.

I hope it's true! She needs a shake up and a real leader behind her projects.
Look what Maroon Five did with their music video for the song Sugar! Now granted the song is kick ass but the video is perfect and WHY oh WHY didn't Mariah think of something like this. I could imagine a video of her crashing strangers weddings. It would've been the video #Beautiful needed to go #1.

I love that Celine ushered in this new wave of musicians taking up Vegas residences who aren't well past their prime! She is gonna make bank on this deal. Good move IMO.

Celine's pretty past her prime. I would say she peaked at the Titanic song. She's been slowly going down since then. She was great in the mid 90s.

Dear LA Reid,
While I am on board with her heading to Sony again, you better not even think of putting out a duets album of her older material. How about we stay in the present and focus on squeezing out new, fresher material from her?
Thanks

Errrrrrrrrmmmm she wasn't "well past her prime" when she signed her residency deal shortly after the start of her brief "retirement" (circa 2000), which was my whole point.

I can't remember exact words, but when she was talking about singing all her hits, she said something along the lines of, "Am I really going to sing that again...?" The French maid skit was hilarious. Especially the one guy talking about how she must be good in bed, and right around that time she glanced back at him from the TV. lol

Mariah needs to do a lot more press before rehearsals start. As far as I can see, ticket sales have been sluggish at best. That Rockefeller performance did so much to hurt her career, she better hurry to fix it.
