Thanks for the recommendations! I was thinking i'd go in order chronologically of what I'm missing but if Daydream/Butterfly are considered the top 2 then I'll make sure 'Daydream' is my next one to buy. To update my listening experience so far.... "The Wind" is an amazing end to 'Emotions'. I love the jazzy feel! Also I like 'Emotions' better than 'Musicbox' with one thorough listen each, that may change. I'm making a point to learn her albums more so if I get a chance to see her in Vegas I'll be well versed! :) Oh and the singles of her older material I was familiar with are "Honey", "One Sweet Day", "Hero", "When You Believe", "Through The Rain", & "Always Be My Baby".

Don't bother staging prep photos like that unless you are prepared to deliver on day fucking 1.

Well we shall see what she does! It is crunch time now for her. I am proud of Mariah for reading people and defending herself with the nonchalance that I have come to expect from her. The level of resting bitch face she used in that interview was marvelous.

^Exactly. I feel like Mariah is at her best when she feels like she has something to prove. Can't wait for her to make Vegas her bitch.

The only thing that worries me is when she was discussing her #1s and how they don't meld seamlessly into a set list and making it flow. I hope she did her due diligence and reworked where needed to make the show flow fluidly. It is hard to tell from her statement whether she did this or not.

As she's performing the songs chronologically, there will be a good amount of alternating between ballads and uptempos. The only back-to-back balladry comes in the form of VOL-LTT and TGIFY-WBT-DFAU. And then TMB is more mid-tempo, and that leads into "Infinity," which, if she commissioned any dance mixes, she would do well to perform in dance-remix form.

Mariah's arrival in Vegas was Fierce in my opinion but, I can only imagine how many people rolled their eyes. Whatever I hope this does well for her.
BTW to the poster who wanted to know what MC cd's to get. Buy "Glitter". It's underrated. If you like a good emotional/personal ballad or cute uptempos you will like this cd.

Now that I have returned to NY and downloaded this song from ITUNES and am playing it on my speakers, I am legit in LOVE. Even though it's slow and kinda sad, it sounds perfect for summer BBQs. Soulful, contemporary and fits right in with her modern-day classics. It makes me crave more music from her immediately. I hope Epic pulls out all the stops - trickery, fuckery, sorcery, I really don't care. I want this to be a smash.

"You Don't Know What to Do" should have been the song on this GH set with this kind of push. UGH.

So many potential smashes... Instead, when she finally gets decent management and actual promo, the only single they have to promote is the mediocre "Infinity".

I wonder what the original "Loverboy" with the Firecracker sample sounds like. The music just sounds so slow in the original movie trailer, I can't picture it. Some fan did a version that will give you a clue: Here's a cool drum cover over "Infinity" Dedicated and Meteorite too IMO for real though, meteorite would've been perfect. Gosh, MIAM was such a perfect album. MIAM was filled with songs that could have been hits if radio was more open to older artists and if the timing and promo had been right: Faded, Dedicated, #Beautiful, Thirsty, and You Don't Know What To Do are all great. Then you have the beautiful, personal ballads Cry. and Camouflage as well as the great throwback jam Make It Look Good. Stellar album.

I agree.... Faded, Dedicated, YDWTD, Meteorite, Thirsty are all >>>> Infinity. I think any of those could have been huge with good promo. I don't know how Inifinty will fare... I don't really like the chorus and not sure if it's catchy enough. But I hope it does well... anything to get her back on the map! Just disappointed this is the song.

The funny part is the catchiest parts of the song for me ("Close the door/Lose the key..." and "You're leaving/You're leaving/You're out the door...") are melodies recycled from "Love Story" and "Don't Forget About Us."

I don't hear eithe rof those? please point out. 1. The melody of "Close the door/lose the key/Leave my heart on the mat for me" and "I was yours/eternally/There's an end to infinity" is the same as "Ours for all eternity/They'll be no end to our love story" 2. The melody of "You're leaving/You're leaving/You're out the door" is the same as "Don't baby/Don't baby/Don't let it go" Earlier in the thread I talked about how the first one might be intentional: pulsemusic.proboards.com/post/5196600/thread

With that being said, let's get the lyric video past 2 million views ASAP:
It's at 1.8 million views to date.

Mariah is such a witch! I hated Infinity at first listen but now I just fell in love. I still think it's not among her best but is better than 90% of whatever radio is playing
