If this is how "Emotions" sounds at the BMAs, we're in good shape! This was just posted to Youtube today; it's from one of her Australia shows. I think it's a very smart choice for her, it's doable and shows off her voice in all the best ways. I'm praying she nails it!

That when she is on her A game its much easier for her to sound like 1995 as opposed to her 1990 style. Her mid voice on her good days ad lower registry can almost match her Daydream era. She struggles more with 1990-1994 Mimi but that one was unearthly so i can't blame her.

From your posts, it sounds like Mariah sounded great on the ballads and mid-tempos but struggled with the uptempos. I wonder if breath control may have something to do with it? Songs like "Honey," "Heartbreaker," and to a lesser extent "Dreamlover" aren't that vocally demanding compared to her other songs, so I'm surprised she didn't slay them. I remember Mariah performing "Dreamlover" around 2012, and she sounded fine there.
Agreed with Coco that Mariah's mid and lower register of the past couple of years are almost on par with her Daydream era vocals. I especially noticed this on her performances of "Hero" from 2013-now.

Keep this interview with Billboard in mind:
Mariah was very candid there and admitted her voice is inconsistent. She has probably been reluctant to do much about it because she would risk losing her high notes, though it has been said she had surgery at some point.

I wake up on a Monday, check the thread of the Greatest Female of All Time, and am confronted with ugly, bitter jealousy. It's unfortunate that not all female artists are blessed with such a miraculous voice or facial beauty. Some people require extensive vocal lessons or prefer to look like the Wicked Witch of the West, but not Mariah!

hey guys, i was listening to WBT and songs that sound similar like DFAU, I stay in love etc and i really like these songs.
I want to make a pplaylist of all the WBT clones including album tracks up to youre mine, which i love too !!
Can anyone put together a definitive list for me ?
