I'm hoping Carrie drops the lead single sometime in May, and then performs it at the CMT Awards in June. Then the album can be released in September or October. That'll be way, way too soon. She won't have a lead single ready for May -- she just began work on this album less than two months ago. |

If I remember correctly, "Nobody Knows" was written with Faith Hill in mind but Carrie recorded it for Blown Away. It was a beautiful song, I'd love to hear it again.

I wasn't sure where to put this, but Carrie received some cool praise from Vince Neil in an article about the upcoming Motley Crüe country tribute album: “I was like, ‘Eh, I don’t know. Let me think about this one for a minute,’” he recalled. “The more I thought about it, the cooler it got, especially after Carrie Underwood did ‘Home Sweet Home,’ and that was so good. This is the best news I have heard all year! I have wanted a Carrie/Miranda duet for years now and it couldn't come at a better time since we all have been dying for new Carrie music and a single likely won't be out until at least August. And as 14887fan said above, this will surely smash at awards season if it is released (and maybe even if it isn't) if the song is at least halfway decent, but by the sound of it, it will be fantastic. I can also see an epic performance of it at the CMA Awards!
Maybe "Something Bad" will even be Miranda's 2nd single, which may mean we get it before the album is released in June. That would be perfect so that it wouldn't interfere too much with Carrie's lead single when that's released.
P.S. - Happy 31st birthday to Queen Underwood! She keeps on getting even more flawless with age!

Just when I thought Carrie wouldn't win awards this year, thanks Miranda! Their combined voting power will surely dominate over any other nominee in ANY category they're nominated in. This should definitely work to Carrie's advantage as well. Assuming this will be a single (about which I have ZERO doubt), it'll provide great promotion and exposure for Carrie as she's getting ready to release her lead single sometime later this year. I haven't heard it yet, obviously, and quality has a lot to do with its potential success. But I'm betting it's a tour-de-force that will dominate the Summer and set Carrie up very nicely for a Summer-Fall single release with momentum she hasn't seen since the Summer "Carnival Ride". I'm getting a little too excited, but if this were released as the second single from Miranda's album, it would set Carrie up PERFECTLY!
... It'll also be nice to have something new from Carrie out there while we wait for Album #5.

Miranda talks about the Carrie collab for her new CD. Nothing but massively kind words, which is always great to hear. "I'm hoping she'll come to the dark side and blow something up or set something on fire in the video." It will be a single. :') |
