To be fair, he was a "recording artist" long before most know, he does have a number of comedy albums. In addition, he is probably one of the most acclaimed comedians out there, at least of those who pertain to the "country" demographic. |

Perhaps this award is telling not only of Carrie's fabulous achievements this past year, but also what can happen when the award does not rely on the voting mechanism currently in the hands of country music's ruling voting group(s).. And yes, this last statement is an assumption on my part. It appears that Carrie is the first female to receive this award. |

So Carrie didn't actually talk about the album much at all during the CMT All Access interview. The only thing she talked about in relation to a new album is that she's been writing a lot lately. Audio here. |

She talked a bit about the Miranda duet and almost verbatim said the same thing as Miranda: "It's in your face/we're both giving it our all/steel guitars" - something to that affect. Nevertheless, I'm extremely excited to hear it!

Performing at the "All 4 the Hall" Event in Nashville, TN on May 6. It's a benefit concert at the Bridgestone Arena for the Country Music Hall of Fame -- lots of other big names performing. |

She's credited as 'performer' on a song titled "Fighter" over at ASCAP. It's written by Audra Mae & the Swedish production trio Play Production. That doesn't necessarily mean it's made the cut for the next album tho; Pop writers have a tendency to jump the gun whenever an artist puts a song on hold.
And there's another one titled "Lighthouse" written by Felicia Barton & Meghan Kabir. You'll just have to take my word for that one though because it's not registered at any public repertoire yet. Carrie's had both of these on hold for quite some time now.

Prior to her set they showed a clip of Cody Alan, who mentioned that during his recent interview with Carrie they talked about how she's been working on new music and hopes to have it out by the end of the year.

head up FC members Carrie blogged today - she says soon she'll have new music to play and a new tour to plan. :)
and she has a few songs she's 'stupid excited about'
also she's loves the ML duet and look for them to perform it together 'soon' ( her quotes there)
she'll be at the ACMs w/her mother & aunt and she's getting her hair done for them since she hasn't had a cut or color since Oct., something different she says
