Do you think Carrie & Miranda will perform the new duet together from Miranda's album? In Carrie's 2nd to last blog, she said something along the lines of "I hope we get to perform it together soon" with a winking smiley face. Carrie knows how much everyone at the FC loves the word "soon" so sometimes she uses it when something it actually about to happen.

While they could be planning the ultimate surprise, I don't think they'll duet tonight. But a surprise like that would be epic in so many ways!
Edit: Jamie Lynn Spears looks A LOT like Carrie tonight, a lot.

The Salute to the Troops song is titled "Keep Us Safe." It's written by Carrie, Luke Laird, Hillary Lindsey & Shane McAnally.

I think Miranda's fans are beginning to feel like I did when CMT showed the SO Small video for two hours straight back in the Carnival ride era. Enough already. I think Miranda feels that way also, but the powers that be want her to match Carrie's sales, singles, albums, tour, etc. Sony wants two cash cows instead of one. They just might get there at Carrie's expense. Robbing Peter to pay Paul

Carrie looks stunning tonight at the taping of Salute to the Troops.  I'm on my phone so I can't quote, but all the tweets are saying Carrie has a huge hit on her hands, and she got a standing ovation!!! |

The response has been overwhelmingly positive on twitter! I can't wait to hear this, and I hope this means we'll have new music sooner rather than later... The two clips sound angelic!

According to an attendee, @hunterkelly, we'll be able to purchase the song the night the special is aired. Also, I read that proceeds will go to ACM Lifting Lives Foundation.

She sounds amazing. I'm really hoping that this isn't anything that's promoted, though. Though she sounds angelic and it's a sweet song, it is possibly the most generic song she's been a part of. It isn't strong lyrically and it has almost no depth. That said, most of the country audience would eat it up based on the subject matter alone.

Her voice sounds stronger than it ever has! I disagree, I think this should be promoted. It may not be the strongest lyric ever, but it's a beautiful song with a great message! Country radio and audiences will eat this up; especially judging by the crowd's reaction. A radio release can't hurt...

Yeah, the song pretty much blows. And while she definitely sounded great, it wasn't anything we haven't heard from her vocally. I hope this is left off the album (or is just a bonus track at the end or something).
