When she broke down at the second verse of JTTW, so did I. She's spectacular.

Jesus Christ, I'm so happy she's not getting pregnant before album #5. I think we all know it's coming after Album #5, this album may have to carry us a while!

They better not pull that 4-single shit this time. Milk this album for EVERYTHING it has to offer. I pray they don't follow the "missed opportunity" trend that seems to be the underlying story of Carrie's entire career.

I didn't mind that Artista didn't go 5 singles deep with "Play On," but "Blown Away" had so many more potential smashes. And what's with the s**tty 4th single choices? (MS and SYA). Ugh.

Yea releasing mamas song over someday....was her worst mistake ever. Yeah, that was silly. But I actually would have preferred "What Can I Say," still one of my favorites from Carrie. People hate on the Play On album a lot. But it definitely has some of Carrie's best songs. I think that if different singles were released the project and obviously era as a whole would have been perceived/remembered better. I still am not hating on the release of SYA last era, especially with having that awesome CMA performance being the album closer. On the other hand I just wish they would have got DYTAM out there, it would sound perfect on the radio this time of year.

Yeah, there are a lot of missed opportunities in regards to her singles. All of her albums could/should have had more singles. I think Play On is easily the worst in general in terms of the singles that were released. "Someday..." and "Quitter" were just obvious singles, and there were some other nice tracks that were better than most of the singles released.

Los Angeles Times: Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow and Carrie Underwood will come together to salute Linda Ronstadt upon her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 10 in New York.

SYA is not shitty and nowhere near the same level of adequacy as MS is. MS is arguably one of her worst singles, but her vocal on the song is still masterclass.

Carrie is one of six finalists for Billboard's Milestone Award, which will be presented during the Billboard Music Awards in May. The winner is determined by a fan vote, and Carrie is up against Luke Bryan, Imagine Dragons, OneRepublic, Ellie Goulding and John Legend. You can vote here.

Both songs are beautifully sung; No one would argue otherwise. I just meant that in terms of standalone quality, I would put SYA pretty low, because it's generic. And there were so many other songs on BA that would have made great singles. Like I said, I enjoy SYA, I just think it was a bad single choice, and not very strong overall.

I personally feel "See You Again" is a fine song. The only thing I could poke holes through are the generic lyrics. But the vocals, production, and instrumentation are either good or great IMO. Listening to Carrie's Blown Away album, I don't see a real problem with them releasing it as a single. I originally thought it was a mistake, but hearing "SYA" on my car stereo really made me warm up to it being single worthy. Compared to other top 5 country hits from last summer, "See You Again" was one of the few breath's of fresh air.

Great news! I hope she is performing, and I can't wait to hear what she sings. I personally feel "See You Again" is a fine song. The only thing I could poke holes through are the generic lyrics. Well, "Do You Think of Me" or some other songs would have also sounded fresh but are of better quality (that's subjective, of course, but it seems like a majority opinion). I think it's also more than only 4 singles were released, and nothing truly country in its sound. If "SYA" had been 1 of 5-6 singles, people probably wouldn't mind as much.

Apparently Carrie has considered/tried singing "Hallelujah" before but decided she couldn't get through it and sound good because it makes her cry.

"See You Again" was a great single choice. Sure, there are other really strong songs on the album, but I'm actually glad they chose SYA as the final single if there were only going to be 4. It has a beautiful message and a great music video. It's easily become one of my favorite Carrie songs. I do think that there should've been a 5th single though, and I would've been content with "Do You Think About Me", "Good in Goodbye", "Cupid's Got a Shotgun", or "Wine After Whiskey".
"Mama's Song" wasn't really as bad as people made it out to be (and still do). She sounds beautiful on it, and it's a more personal song from Carrie which she doesn't do often so it was nice to see that side of her. Of course, I think "What Can I Say" would've been the smartest release for the final single. I love "Someday When I Stop Loving You" but I don't think it was meant for radio.

I think the point for some people is that a single should promote/sell an album. I understand that "Mama's Song" was personal to Carrie and that's good for her, but it did nothing to sell that album. I also appreciate that some people like the message of "SYA," but that's separate from it being a song that helps the album.

I don't remember if Carrie stated she was doing Ronstadt's version, but she sang "When Will I Be Loved" during her AI run.

While I do think, from a business perspective, that a single's purpose is to help sell the album, I also think singles should show off the different sides of an artist. I enjoy SYA and love the video, but I don't think it helped show off a side of Carrie that we haven't already seen and heard before. I would have liked for her/the label to release one of the more country-sounding singles since the BA album was full of country songs. It would also be nice for Carrie to release one of her happier mid-tempos at some point - she's had so many over the years that I think would have been perfect for radio ("Get Out of This Town," "Do You Think About Me," "This Time," "We're Young and Beautiful," and I know a lot of people wanted "Quitter" as a single).
The BA era did a great job with its singles of showing off Carrie's darker side, but I think the label may still be pigeon-holing her as the pop-country girl (notice I put pop before country). Carrie has some really strong country songs on her albums, but the label doesn't seem that interested in releasing them so we continue to hear a lot of "she's not country" comments about Carrie, because people base their opinions of her on her singles.

They want money. Country-country songs rarely make money these days. They need the pop-country songs, because those songs perform better and make more money. It doesn't matter what they say, record labels are in the business for the profits.

Absolutely, which is why as much as I would have liked for them to release "Wine After Whiskey" I understand why they didn't. But I still think songs like "Do You Think About Me" or "Cupid's Got a Shotgun" could have done very well.

But her more pop songs aren't pushed to pop, so I actually don't get the crossover appeal anyway. Only country audiences are hearing these songs, really. And I still don't know why a 5th single wasn't pushed.

Remember when "I Told You So" made it to the top 10 of the Hot 100 the week it was performed on Idol? I don't think anyone saw that coming.

Carrie blogged again at the fan club - she's excited to sit back and enjoy the ACMs, has been writing a lot this week and says things are really starting to take shape.

I will DIE if she presents Entertainer, DIE. I feel like they'll give that one to Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood, but that'd be killer if they gave her that presenter slot, lol.

I still find it very odd that neither Carrie or Taylor will be performing this year. Those are usually the two I look forward to seeing the most. I could totally see her being given the EOTY presenter slot only because she has won twice before.

She's the one who should be receiving the award, not giving it out. She'll probably present a performance or something, because I think award presenters are decided days/weeks in advance...
