Carrie opened it up with singing Different Drum :o That is my favorite Ronstadt song! I can't wait for HQ footage of all of this. Wait. It sounds like they were all taking turns on all of the songs? I may not leave my house until I can hear all of these just to make sure I don't die before I do.

Only Carrie had a solo as she started off the tribute, than the other ladies joined in as in different songs. The ladies sang back up on each song Here is small clip of Blue Bayou http://instagram.com/p/moYvQQzIEc

Yeah, her voice overpowers the rest on all of these clips. I don't know how people hear things like this and "How Great Thou Art" and then don't vote her Female Vocalist.

I don't think Carrie's voice overpowered anyone, it blended perfectly. The harmonies sounded fantastic.

Is the HOF thing being televised? I feel so out of the loop! It will air, but not until May 31. It's always aired later for some reason. :ETA: It probably airs later so they can edit it. Apparently the E Street induction took an hour alone because of all the band members. I just hope all of Carrie's big stuff makes it to air.

Carrie sings Different Drum like it was written for her, literally effortless.

Love the vocals on Different Drum. Can't wait to see other videos! I for one have no problem with Carrie and her team wanting to write solid radio hits for an album. But what I'm afraid of is that she is becoming so comfortable with mediocre song writing because it sells as well as it has in the past. Granted, these types of songs may still sell, but it's her fifth album. It's time for true artistic growth to show, and to show clearly. There's simply no better voice in country music, but it's time for the songs to match the voice. No matter how you interpret "Keep Us Safe", it isn't anywhere close to a step up. You have to remember that those radio friendly "mediocre" songs like JTTW, BHC, Last Name all won Grammys. Technically, she won Grammys for her vocal performance of those songs, not for the songwriting (JTTW and BHC did, but she wasn't a cowriter)

I actually didn't like that version of 'Drum'- perhaps the video quality if part of the issue, but I do not feel that Carrie's tone works for this song.

I seriously have to disagree.. I think Carrie's voice is perfect for A Different Drum.. I thought it was just beautiful.. the whole tribute was amazing! I would love to hear Carrie sing Blue Bayou, just her! That would be awesome.. :)

I am still looking for a "Blue Bayou" video, if anyone has come across it, that'd be much appreciated!

Tone as in the emotion of her voice, or tone meaning the timbre/sound of her voice? TBH I thought the sound of Carrie's voice was pretty similar to Ronstadt's on the song, but I can see where she didn't bring the same sexiness to the song. I definitely hear Carrie sort of dominate the harmonies on "Blue Bayou," but I'm not complaining. I love Raitt's verse on that one. Carrie must have been flipping out getting to sing with all of those legends!!

Stevie Nicks referenced Carrie's performance in answering a different question:

I love all the ladies Carrie performed with, but Carrie was the clear standout. I think that's a huge feat considering the company she was in.

Notice Bonnie's fist "yea" when Carrie has her solo(2:50). She knows what all her fans know, that girl can sing, and sing literally any kind of genre.

She was absolutely phenom on 'Bayou'. ETA: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzUVStSTLwY#t=233 "It's So Easy" and "When Will I Be Loved" Also, at 2:45, there's a Carrie s/o by Stevie Nicks in front of the audience. Love it.

Again, I'm not sure if it's the video quality, but her tone during 'Drum' is too nasal for my liking, especially for the song. On the other hand, IMO, Carrie sounds phenomenal in 'Bayou'. I absolutely love her higher register harmonies- definitely a standout in all of the group performances. Because Carrie is so tragically underrated as a harmonizer, I want performances like these to be viewed more often by the mainstream public, labels, and artists, mostly because I want to hear her voice on so many duets, especially with my favourite artists and groups.
