LTG sold another 22k this week, up from last week's 16k, for a total of 150k. Not bad considering it's gotten literally 0 promo. It was sent to radio and has a video, so it isn't true that it's had "literally 0 promo." Obviously he means radio interviews, TV performances, etc. I, personally, don't count music videos as "promo". When I think of promotion, I think of actively getting out to promote a song/album via: media tour, concert tour, radio interviews, TV interviews, etc... A video seems more like part of a single package, not so much "promo".

Videos are definitely promotion; that's why singles usually get videos while album tracks do not, and it's why videos are usually made in conjunction with a single's release (or at least during its run). Historically they've even been called "promotional clips." And I don't think it's obvious he meant all of those things since he wrote "literally 0 promo." That's a strong, clear statement.

I was pointing out that videos are a form of promotion. It's not hard to grasp.

Speaking of dead horses, "Oklahoma Wind" came up on shuffle today for me. Sigh. I will never get over what a gigantic missed opportunity it was to not include that song on Blown Away.

Speaking of 'Wind', is the acoustic demo below the only audio of the song ? https%3A//soundcloud.com/hunter1313/carrie-underwood-oklahoma-wind

neally, that is the only audio of Carrie singing it. There's also a piano demo with a male singing, but I'm not sure where to find that these days.

Umm, I'm a bit new to Carrie, and then, after I hear Little Toy Guns and SITW, I fell in love with her. Among her albums, which one do you guys recommend me to buy first?

Start with the worst, Play On. From there, it gets better no matter the order. My recommended order would be: Play OnSome HeartsCarnival RideBlown AwayBlown Away is by far her best album from an artistic and thematic standpoint, so ending with that would be ideal, I think. The middle two are interchangeable, equally as solid in their own right in my opinion.

I do think SH is a bit better than CR but both are great and then BA that ultimate Carrie album <3 Nice job, dude... Where the popular opinion is that Play On is Carrie's least consistent album, we can't overlook some of Carrie's top quality songs that were cut for that album: "Someday When I Stop Loving You" "What Can I Say" "Look At Me" "Cowboy Casanova" Also, many fans seem to love "Unapologize" and "This Time". It also seems to be the general consensus that the production was much improved for Play On after the loud Carnival Ride. As far as albums go, Some Hearts has such nostalgia attached to it for long-time fans that I feel it's almost unfair to judge. Where it definitely had high highs, I feel that the cohesive theme of growing up and experiencing life as a young adult fuses that album into a true collection - something I still feel that has not been done as well since. Personally, I still think Carnival Ride was her most consistent album as far as containing high-quality songs. The majority of that album could have been released to radio and done very well - it was very commercial yet also contained well-written songs. With Play On, they really botched the singles. The album would probably be viewed pretty differently by many of us if the singles went something like: "Cowboy Casanova", "What Can I Say", "This Time", "Someday When I Stop Loving You". And then they regrouped, gave Kara the ax and created Blown Away: Carrie's boldest album so far and shows Carrie using her established place in country music to bring new sounds and influences to the genre (to a more obvious extent than with past albums). I also do feel that it's title track felt like a "Jesus, Take The Wheel" or "Before He Cheats" type of event song. Although this album was a huge step in the right direction thematically, it still contained some songs that I thought seemed to interrupt the cohesion "Nobody Ever Told You", "One Way Ticket" and "Who Are You". I predict that with the next album Carrie is going to continue in the vain of Blown Away and "Something In The Water" and "Little Toy Guns" - pop/rock production (with country elements) and predominantly many "story" songs. It is my hope that they really look at the album as a whole and try to find something - a song, a stage in life, a topic - to build this album around. Blown Away was close, but I still think Carrie is capable of more.

Or to not include it on her Greatest Hits (as a treat for us fans who have been dying for her to put it on an album, instead of giving us those crappy work tapes). I still think "Oklahoma Wind" would have fit perfectly as the close to Blown Away (what a thematic fit) and after the album title/cover was revealed, I was surprised to find it was not included. However, I can't say that I was surprised when it wasn't included on the Greatest Hits album. I know that Carrie has, in the past, discussed doing an acoustic tour with smaller venues, so part of me wonders if she is holding on to some songs that would really shine in that setting and may release a more acoustic-leaning album to go along with it. Probably not, though. What makes me think she's keeping it in her back pocket is the fact that no other artist has recorded it, considering its quality. Where we don't know how many of Carrie's co-writes she holds on to, we do know that some of these songs have been recorded by other, less-established artists. And then maybe she just doesn't care for the song. EDIT: "Some additional new cowrites for upcoming albums: 2 for Cassadee Pope and 1 for Carrie Underwood. As always, all songwriters are listed in alphabetical order: "Wildfire" (Chris DeStefano / Jon Nite / Carrie Underwood) Chris DeStefano is popping up on a lot of Carrie's new album cowrites - their 1st album cut/single together was "Good Girl" (which they cowrote with Ashley Gorley) and he also cowrote "Something In The Water" with Brett James and Carrie and "Little Toy Guns" with Hillary Lindsey and Carrie. Jon Nite would be new to a Carrie album - we did have a previous title by this trio for the new album called "The Greatest Show On Earth." He cowrote the #1 Keith Urban/Miranda Lambert duet "We Were Us" with Nicolle Galyon and Jimmy Robbins, David Nail's #1 hit "Whatever She's Got" with Jimmy Robbins and Jake Owen's #1 hit "Beachin'" with Jaren Johnston and Jimmy Robbins." www.mjsbigblog.com/idol-headlines-for-42415.htm#comment-1985705422

It would been the PERFECT fit for the album, and should have been a contender to replace one of the filler tracks. I believe it would have made BA had Carrie not been so adamant about staying away from it after it leaked. Damn shame. Anyway, I'm stoked for new music, hopefully it's coming sooner rather than later.
