They are moving on to current and future glories. Mariah released an old and out of date song. Dont hate the other girls because they decided to release something worth listening to in 2014. Its time to exercise the art of letting go like mariah has.

Hey Janet nice to hear from you again! however your post has no relevance to mine, clearly I WASNT talking about the Beyonce's of the world who are dominating the charts, rightfully so. I was referring to acts who FLOP. Read, comprehend and then respond, thanks! If I was talking about those who release something worth listening to then i wouldnt call them flops. When the gums move faster than the ears you have intercommunication failures like this.

I just love how when someones favorite diva is flopping out of control they resort to reciting past glories and trying to compare with others when the bottom line is Mariah is flopping spectacularly now....not Janet. So you can get Janet off your tongue because Mariah is the flop diva in 2014. Weve all moved on since 2008. You should too. Its always like you old queens to get bitter angry with others when your fave flops. No one wants to hear that non-sense. Im just not stupid enough to be having a breakdown over a flopping diva....but you do you girl.

She is flopping and i already said that so your input is not even needed honey and it still dont matter that she did flop either. Check the resume boo. She is still Mariah Carey always will be flop, hit or not. Like I said above you posts have nothing to do with what I said so take your spoon and stir where its needed. The queens stay unbothered. "No one wants to hear that non-sense" as for this comment, I concur since 2003.

It looks like "Let It Go" has the best shot of the lot, based on predictions out there. But we'll see. :) Is Karen O. performing? Yes, she is. And it annoys me that the Academy couldn't put in Lana's "Young & Beautiful" in the fifth slot. :( I don't see why not, I mean its not gonna win if it wasn't originally chosen as a nominee.

Don't know. And if it keeps going like this, there may not be one able to catch "Happy" for some time.

"Happy" could be No. 1 with tomorrow's update. After that, what track will dominate next? I see John Legend All of Me as being the track to get the next big push. It's getting big updates and it's very popular on itunes (showing #2 right now).

So on Wednesday Happy will be #1 on radio...maybe due to slight discrepancies between Mediabase and Nielsen BDS (I remember Demons being #2 on Mediabase on a Tuesday and Counting Stars being #3 but Demons ended up being #3 on radio songs that week with Counting Stars at #2), Happy will be #1 on radio this week (by tomorrow)

^ exactly. This is positively lining up to be the BL/GL scenario from last summer. Two mega smash songs that just happened to take off at the same time but one of them is the rare mega, mega smash (Happy right now/ BL last summer). Just like GL, AOM (during a typical/average week) easily would be #1.

kinda random, but I remember when Sinead O'Connor was #1 with 'Nothing Compares 2 U', and the #2 song - 'Don't Wanna Fall In Love' by Jane Child, and #3 - All Around The World by Lisa Stansfield were both huge. It was the rare time Billboard mentioned percentages back then. They said any other time during that year, both the #2 song and #3 song would have been #1, except the 4 weeks Sinead was #1. Always thought their timing sucked.

I know "Happy" is absolutely massive but I'd love AOM to sneak just a week at #1 for John Legend's sake. Maybe when airplay is getting close to peaking, he could perform on SNL or something.

I don't know if it will reign that long, but, eventually, something probably will. I want Katy Perry's Birthday to follow Happy but I would imagine new singles from Adele, Taylor and maybe Rihanna in the next few months will prevent something close to 16 weeks from happening. MARIAH CAREY – You’re Mine (Eternal): 8.854 (+ 0.213) My poor Mimi :'( If it wasnt for the 200+million sold and 18 #1's already id be having a breakdown....how do the girls without THAT RESUME handle their flop divas. ;) Did anyone shade Mariah? It sounds like this is your coping mechanism for her flopping and it's quite sad really. Mariah would want her lambchops to be transparent in a good way and joyous and effervescent. ^ You sound hurting boo, u maad?, its okay sweety online trivialities are not that serious xoxo So you are going to throw the rock then hide your hand... How do these things get so messy? Radio updates and then the drama ensues...I don't get it. I know "Happy" is absolutely massive but I'd love AOM to sneak just a week at #1 for John Legend's sake. Maybe when airplay is getting close to peaking, he could perform on SNL or something. Yeah, that would be smart.

We'll have to wait and see if Robin Thicke, Daft Punk, or John Legend ever return to the top ten. All three songs are later career fluke hits for established artists not used to making the top ten.

^ lol radioactive is at #15. Why is happy so low at #25? I would at least think it would be in the top 10....weird.
I see it at #8 as well, I hope they combine the 2 "versions". Combined it is at #2 with 2,194,676 plays. ^and none of them would ever hit the top 10 again. EDIT: Ooooh, my 1111th post. And now it's time once again for our weekly look back at the Billboard top 10 singles charts of exactly 55, 50, 45, and 40 years ago this week.
When rock and roll historians talk about the period of time beginning in the late 50's and lasting through the early 60's when rock and roll music almost became too "tame," and seemed to lose a lot of the energy of its early rebellious spirit, they are talking about songs like Frankie Avalon's "Venus" and others of its ilk. Elvis was in the army; Little Richard had found religion; Chuck Barry had gotten into trouble with the law, and Buddy Holly was dead. And sometimes it seemed as if rock and roll's early spirit had possibly died along with him. In their place were a number of manufactured, clean cut, well dressed, young male singers who didn't really threaten the adults too much with their image or their sound.
Most rock and roll historians also agree that this situation remained until early 1964 when a rock and roll group from England (of all places) seemed to re-discover that early spirit of rock and roll and how to bring it back to the masses, but that's another story for another time.
March 9, 1959 (for week ending March 15, 1959)
TW LW WK 01 07 05 Venus - Frankie Avalon (1 week at #1) 11th song to hit #1 on the Hot 100 02 03 06 Charlie Brown - The Coasters 03 01 14 Stagger Lee - Lloyd Price 04 02 16 Donna - Ritchie Valens 05 10 04 Alvin's Harmonica - David Seville And The Chipmunks 06 13 07 I've Had It - The Bell Notes 07 15 07 It's Just A Matter Of Time - Brook Benton 08 05 09 Petite Fleur (Little Flower) - Chris Barber's Jazz Band 09 06 14 I Cried A Tear - LaVern Baker 10 04 16 16 Candles - The Crests
For the week ending March 14th, 1964, the Beatles made Billboard chart history again when for the first time an artist occupied the first 3 spots on the top 10 chart. This happened when "Please Please Me" moved up from #4 to #3, joining "She Loves You" still at #2 and "I Want To Hold Your Hand" holding in at #1 for a seventh consecutive week. Again, nobody, not even Elvis, had ever accomplished anything even close to this on the Hot 100 ever before. And nobody has done it since.
March 14, 1964
TW LW WK 01 01 09 I Want To Hold Your Hand - The Beatles (7 weeks at #1) 02 02 08 She Loves You - The Beatles 03 04 07 Please Please Me - The Beatles 04 03 07 Dawn (Go Away) - The Four Seasons 05 05 11 Java - Al Hirt 06 07 08 Navy Blue - Diane Renay 07 09 05 Fun, Fun, Fun - The Beach Boys 08 06 08 California Sun - The Rivieras 09 10 10 See The Funny Little Clown - Bobby Goldsboro 10 11 07 I Love You More and More Every Day - Al Martino
Certain hit songs are destined to hit #1, while others are seemingly destined to stall or be held back at #2 or lower. And a number of times in the history of the Hot 100, the song that never made it any higher than #2, has turned out to be the much more memorable one in the end. Such is widely considered the case with Tommy Roe's "Dizzy" and Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Proud Mary". Most people, critics and fans alike, consider the latter song to be the superior one; a classic example of late 60's rock, while the former one is largely considered a forgettable piece of late 60's bubblegum pop. Nevertheless, the fact still remains that it is "Dizzy" that made it to #1 on the Hot 100 for the week ending March 15th, 1969.
March 15, 1969
