Happy is going to be #1 for a long time, perhaps 10 weeks or more. The next #1 might not even be on the Hot 100 yet, or at least is pretty far down there. 55 New 1 #SELFIE - The Chainsmokers - Dim Mak | Republic 68 88 2 Glory And Gore - Lorde - Lava | Republic 85 98 2 La La La - Naughty Boy Featuring Sam Smith - Naughty Boy/Relentless/Virgin | Capitol 89 New 1 Wild Wild Love - Pitbull Featuring G.R.L. - Mr. 305/Polo Grounds | RCA future hits None of those will hit #1 imo. La La La is a masterpiece and deserves to be a #1, but if it was heading for #1 it would be a lot higher with this airplay it's got atm. Glory and Gore will probably do similar to Team at best imo (which is still great obviously). Not sure about Wild Wild Love, but unlikely to be #1. I still don't understand how Timber got there. Counting Stars was a MUCH bigger hit. Selfie is nowhere near popular enough to be a #1. Posh Republican middle-aged women alone can't carry a song to the top of the charts.

Well Happy for f**king sure! (duh) Dark Horse might be able to stick around long enough to be #9 or #10 or something. All of Me looks like it's rising enough to be a summer hit. Maybe Talk Dirty #8 or something. Team might have a chance too. Kinda hard to tell at this point...charts for the songs of the summer start with the May 17th or 24th issue or something right? Anyway the only one we can be absolutely sure about is Happy. It might even be the #1 song of the summer (possible but not 100%). Last year's #1 song of the summer was Blurred Lines which hadn't even come out yet at this point of the year so for all we know this year's #1 song of the summer might not even be out yet.

So what artists that haven't dropped records yet do you think will have songs of the summer and do you think Partition will be one of them?

I think that' Mmm yeah' could be this year's Bye Bye Bye. I see that many people don't believe in the tremendous potential of this song, but don't forget that Mmm yeah went number 2 on iTunes a day before the Grammys and stayed in the top 5 during the Grammys night! That's huge for a song by a teen, because usually teen songs don't have too much longevity on ITunes. Currently' Mmm yeah' is almost top 60 on ITunes without an official video. It's outselling songs that double its 9.5 m AI! That's promising because once radio starts giving this 1 million AI daily, this might explode in the summer.

The Timbaland/Pharrell/Justin Timberlake collab will hopefully be big this summer. Sounds like it'll be a real summer tune!

Also Clean Bandit - Rather Be will probably be big in the summer. Maybe will.i.am - Feelin' Myself or Chris Brown - Loyal. Hopefully the latter can blow up like Show Me did. Also Trevor Jackson - Drop It if it gets sent to pop radio. Whatever Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj have out in the summer will probably do well too. Wait, what? Sick. When is it dropping? It's on Pharrell's new album G I R L, it's called "Brand New" It's not Brand New (although that's a great summer-sounding song as well). I heard a clip of it a while ago. Timbaland has a lot of vocals in it, and the beat is very 2008-sounding (think songs like Bust It Baby Part II, Sexual Eruption, Take You There, Sexy Can I, Whatever You Like, etc.). At least that's the impression I got from the clip, but it was very low quality.

^ Rather Be is a nice song, but I've heard it too much now. :( It's already getting spins on pop radio, so that's promising at least for the song. It has potential to be a huge crossover hit. Such a wide variety of radio stations in the UK played the song.

I personally hope Usher and T.I. drop some hot records for the summer. T.I. should release another song like Why You Wanna. People are loving the hip hop songs with house synths (see: Show Me, Paranoid), so Why You Wanna would fit in perfectly today!

Birthday ready to receive Happy's baton. Yeah, I wouldn't be so sure about that. Unless another song comes between the future #1 birthday...I want the corny Happy Birthday jokes to continue...

It honestly hasn't wowed me yet even though I haven't heard the version with Justin and Pharrell yet. Hopefully it get another change like Blow from Beyonce.

#Selfie is now number 8 on itunes. Looks like this is moving up fast. If the video becomes more viral maybe this does have a chance at the next #1.

Those songs are way too old. They'll never make it unless Pharell free falls down the charts at some point. they're not old...their chart runs are just beginning (except AOM but that one's increasing a lot) They will be old by the time they get a chance to challenge for #1. That's exactly what happened with Counting Stars. Those other songs are getting all their big sales weeks in now while being bested easily by Pharell. Pharell has at least 4 more weeks at #1 at this point in time barring any change in the status quo.

Radioactive and Get Lucky didn't get to #1 yet they were both in the top 3 songs of the summer last year!
