Really sad. Sucks so many marriages end in divorce. I still kind of ship her and Tony Kanal though.

Sad that it didn't work out. I wish them well with co-parenting their children.

No shocker there given how many negative songs she has written about Gavin, even when they were supposedly happily married. I have ZERO faith in celebrity marriages. It could be 10, 20, or even 30 years; doesn't matter. But yeah, I expect even more Gavin songs to come out of this now.

Gwen performed the track "Used to Love You" at her MasterCard #PricelessMoments showcase today and it's allegedly her new single.

She's trying the Don't Speak route again.
I liked the song anyway :) I just hope the album COMES OUT this time.I'm not here for The Voice season singles. I want an album.

Sometimes it's best to start fresh. It happens to the best of artists.

...because no one ever wants to say "I thought I had hits but they weren't hits after all so I figured no one would buy the album and I decided to stick with what I know instead of chasing what I thought were obvious hits."

I was going to go the cynical route as well but I think Gwen was smart to scrap that album if she realizes it wasn't who she really is as an artist. She admitted to trying to let others steer the ship (with some subtle shade at Adam Levine, who let Benny Blanco and friends steer basically an entire album) but realized it's not what fans want from her. I approve this message, Gwen. I haven't heard the new song yet but I think she has the inspiration she needs. From the "Nobody taught you how to love" line it sounds like it's a continuation of Dreaming The Same Dream from Push & Shove ("Who taught you how to love?")

Its great to hear something so honest from an artist as established as Gwen. A lot of artists her age would have just kept releasing the music, lying, and pretending that it was really good. She had the humility to throw all that time and money away because she knew that something was missing. I really respect her for that.

Yeah...the key was that she admitted it, like you said. If it was just about flopping singles and going back to the drawing board due to that reason, I think she would have put a different spin on it, if she cared to. I feel like No Doubt's music is so quirky and Gwen is such an eccentric vocalist that they never actually set out to make music that does really well commercially, now that I think about it. I think it just happens when the music is that good and the interest is there or it's a specific time and place where people really connect.

I definitely there's genuine sentiment in her statement but I highly doubt an entire album's worth of material would've been scrapped had Baby Don't Lie or Start the Fire reached the upper ranks of the Hot 100. I'm excited for her next album regardless; I ride for her hardcore.

Gwen, Adele, Ariana... I cannot handle this fall.
I actually liked both of her singles, and I know I'm in the extreme minority on that. I just think Gwen could sing anything and her voice is so interesting and she has tried so many different things that she just works for me.
And of course I like this song too. <3

"Used to Love You" has been holding steady at #2 on iTunes for several hours now :) I'm hoping we get the full album by the end of Q1 2016 at the latest. A February release could be nice.
