Hopefully "All Of Me" sneaks in a week or two at #1. Looks like it'll overtake "Happy" in airplay this week.

Happy could lose #1 next week On the Hot 100? I don't think it's likely. Have you seen how far ahead "Happy" still is compared to "All Of Me" in sales(whose sales I think are falling now). I think "Happy" gets a 9th week at #1, but probably not a 10th.

With the Oprah interview with Pharrell going viral, Happy has been seeing a steady increase on iTunes. It should be #1 for at least 1 to 2 more weeks.

Would Happy see an uptick of streaming due to that Pharrell video?

Would Happy see an uptick of streaming due to that Pharrell video? Who knows. Billboard does what they want. It still baffles me that they didn't include the streaming for "Let Her Go," which was prominently used in that commercial, but included the streaming for that random song that you could barely understand in that first kiss video...

what's the Pharrell video? It was a segment during his interview with Oprah where she showed a compilation video of Happy from people all around the world... and he cried. It has been making the rounds all over social media sites.

Wow, Story of My Life is finally out of the Top 20 - didn't think it would have that much longevity - 23 weeks in the top 20! That'll probably be one of the longer runs we've seen so far.

From a chart standpoint? Nah, just because the Mediabase numbers are high doesn't mean anything historically because those have clearly been inflated as we've seen over the years. Sales? No. Is it a significant hit? Absolutely. Is it a song that will be a part of the history of the "10s" - almost certainly. However, Blurred Lines has a better case for everything.

Blurred Lines was lifted from a Marvin Gaye song. I'm talking sales, airplay, chart standing, worldwide appeal, and overall awesome of song. All of those factors and It's a timeless song. I'm just saying a case could be made. Especially if it stands the test of time.

I'm just saying a case could be made. Especially if it stands the test of time. With the way the Hot 100 is structured now (very little chart movement week to week), I'm guessing we'll have another 10 week #1 song this year alone. Sales/airplay are strong for sure, but timeless? It's way too early to tell how the song will stand up. I'm not a huge fan of the song like I was some of the big songs from previous years, but I don't dislike it. I just don't like posters who claim xyz song is the best of all time based on their preference without hard empirical data. There have been lots of songs that have sold more, played more per station per week, and so forth. It's a good song and I don't want to disagree with everything you say, but let's take a wait and see approach :)

A song being "Timeless" has nothing to do with chart runs in its initial life. A song being "timeless" would mean that it has multiple lives.
Lots of classics out there that did not come anywhere near #1 on initial release but have held up well

Demi could hit the airplay top 10 and I love that! Although the huge gap between #10 and #9 is a bit wtf...
