There was a random subplot on last week's A.P. Bio series on NBC involving the main character's nemesis dating Lisa Loeb: ...so he makes his class help plot a way to break them up, of which one student ended up photoshopping the nemesis kissing Alanis: ...which the tabloids picked up at the end of the episode making Loeb furious: ...but the nemesis calmed her down and thus "Stay" began playing:

I would be so happy if she returns soon Spring is great season for Alanis comeback!
But as I follow her on FB, I see she is more into spiritual things than making music

Is she involved in this musical? I believe so since she did express support for it last year and mentioned being excited to dive back into the music and rediscovering how it can be used for the musical as it was to incorporate more from her catalog outside of JLP. She also did an interview with People last year that mentioned her recording new music as she was recovering from a crippling bout of postpartum depression. My heart really went out to her and hope she’s doing better now. people.com/babies/alanis-morissette-reveals-postpartum-depression-battle/

She has an amazing podcast, btw. Not really about music - more psychology-related. But she and her guests are crazy intelligent and it's well intended in raising awareness about mental health, different types of conditions, trauma, etc. alanis.com/podcasts/

Though she is def in my top 5 artists I am never interested in things she does outside albums/music
This is why I am surprised about musical but I think I might read about it but just forgot as it was not an interesting news to me
I know she gave advices in some magazine or elsewhere but I read couple and they were ... I do agree she is one of the most inteligent artists outhere.

I came here in hopes of new album news and was sorely disappointed.
Girl. I have waited for you and adjusted for you and I am done. *wink*

Bent For You is such a good song! Alanis has some strong b-sides.

She left so many good ones off of that. Maybe because they were too old? Before Feast On Scraps was announced, I put together a B-side collection that I called Unsurrounded By The Pawn, featuring a lot of FoS songs plus gems like Symptoms and Awakening Americans, and a version of Superstar Wonderful Weirdos that I found.

Her album tracks are strong too. I never skip a track when playing an album of hers, except Havoc and Bright Lights.
The title track from So-Called Chaos is great when I'm in an angry or rebellious mood.

Yeah, Havoc has about 4 or 5 good songs on it. The others I usually listen to straight through.
And praise the love for So Called Chaos the song. That should have been a single from the album.

That whole album campaign was terribly mishandled. Someone should've put the smackdown on "Everything" being the first single.

You think? While not her strongest album by far, I enjoy all but a few songs on the deluxe version. Which songs do you use?

Empathy and Receive are perfect (despite the insanely strong compression on her vocals) and Lens is great too, and I think Numb too. Is it Celebrity that is essentially a slowed down version of So Called Chaos? If so, not that one.

How do you feel about Spiral, Magical Child, and Edge of Evolution? And then there's Havoc which is one of my favorite tracks.

Man, I can not believe that it took me so so long to 'discover' Are you still mad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It took me years and some turbulent times with my boyfriend to appreciate it and now it is on repeat for days...
This is Ununvited part 2 actually
Plus, Front row ...
I will not mention the songs I already adore: That I would be good (my fav probably from Alanis) - Joining you - I was hoping - Unsent - So pure - Thank U and Simpathetic C

Still Mad was a standout for me after first listen. Front Row was a lot to digest at first with its insane wordiness, but once I got a handle on it, I was in love. So much fun. Front to back, Junkie is my favorite Alanis album to listen to. I won't say it's her best, because Pill may be, but much of that album burned on me from being so popular. I was lowkey elated when Junkie didn't score big pop hits because 20 years later, I'm not tired of any of it. And her stellar Unplugged album gave new life to a few of the tracks, too. I think I may even prefer Joining You unplugged over the album version.

Joining you, That I would be Good, I was hoping sound great live
I can not really say what is my fav Alanis album To be honest none of them have majority of songs that I really like
JUnkie would be perfect with 11 songs: Front row Baba Thank U Are you still mad S C That I would be good The couch I was hoping Unsent So pure Joining you to be honest, other songs I generally skip
I do like a lot Under rug swept (Precious Illusions - my top 3 song from her) and Havoc too

It is a tough call when playing favorites, I love and feel connected to all her albums. They all have songs I live for. I just think Junkie does the most for me, song per song, beginning to end.

I get you except, in my case, only album I do not feel connected at all to any song to is SoCC (not counting 2 albums before Pill)

The Chaos album did have a poppier influence that sounded more cookie-cutter than her others, but I only dislike a couple songs. This Grudge is right up there with her best ballads for me.

Other than Jagged Little Pill, So Called Chaos is my favourite Alanis album. Every spring I put it on and it takes me back to the spring of 2004 and that's why I love it! My one initial beef with the album was the production though. John Shanks produced it, and it sounds okay but I always felt the songs should have had more of a rockier edge. He also did Michelle Branch's Hotel Paper the year before and that album is perfect as it, but songs like Out Is Through and Excuses should have been grittier. Plus the perfection that is the title track. But despite that, I do love the album.
SFIJ is a solid album too that I've probably grown to love more over the years, particular the ones I didn't care for in the beginning. It's a very uneven album for me and really really weird, especially coming off of the perfectly consistent Jagged Little Pill album. But I think SFIJ is more in tune with Alanis as a human than JLP ever was.
