Another chart at the top of a page, that's something I thought I'd never do. I'll see how long that streak can keep up. Words As Weapons spends a third week at #1 with no nearby challengers, but there are a few songs charging up below that could give it a run for its money next week. These Days remains at its #2 peak for the second week, ready to sacrifice its position for Bridge Burning to make its Top 10 run in a few weeks. Sleep Forever continues its trek upwards, moving to #3 in its tenth week charting. I'm Only Joking remains at #4 and its bullet has most likely slipped into the negative range. Tongues is the first song to lose position this week, dropping down two places to #5. Trojans makes an impressive move to #6 and is the closest song to #1 that still has a realistic shot at grabbing the chart's most coveted position. Jealous sneaks up a position but it's doubtful that it will make a Top 5 appearance. Dangerous extends its record-breaking Top 10 run, falling to #8 this week. Spiderhead appears to be finished rising, but it made a nice dent in the rankings. Cigarette Daydreams might have a similar impact a month or two down the line. My Demons from Starset is the lone Top 10 entry this week, charging all the way from #25 up 15 spots. If there ever was a song ready to take the helm of the chart, this song has it. Either this or Trojans will probably be the next #1, and that fight should be interesting to see to its conclusion. Either way, Starset is doing a quicker job moving up on my chart compared to its radio run.
Hot Shot Debut is Down The Road, an unpredictable jam from C2C. It had its peak in 2013 on Alternative radio but I just discovered it recently so it was still eligible for a run on my chart. Its entry at #45 is the T-8th highest ever, and that bodes well for its future considering 6 of the 8 other songs with an equal or higher debut position reached the Top 10 eventually (Every Other Freckle is still rising at #18 so that statistic could quickly become 7/8. Also for full disclosure's sake, the only song from that group other than alt-J not to hit Top 10 was Milky Chance's Flashed Junk Mind, peaking at #17.) Little Monster from Royal Blood becomes their third song to debut, joining at #55. I finally listened to the full album this week and it was fantastic. Expect several entries over the next few months as I squeeze all I can out of the LP. Came Back Haunted continues the 2013-peaking Alternative song trend, appearing at #69. The eerie track will probably make some big jumps in the coming weeks and take a shot at Top 10 placement. Theory of a Deadman's Drown follows the slightly heavier turn my chart has taken in past weeks and becomes another Active-only song to make the list. Entering at #81, it can do some damage if it gets out of the crowded bottom half. Your Woman, White Town's 90's hit was a song I debated about charting due to familiarity but I had never really been into the song, only vaguely aware of its existence so it earns a charting spot and a potential run. Soft Serve graduates from Bubbling Under #1 last week to a real chart slot this week. At #85 it has a little to climb before making an impact. Room To Breathe from You Me At Six debuts at #87, a late week listen that grabbed me on first listen. Big Data's follow-up chart hit has finally been decided on, as Stroke of Return is the second song on his 1.0 EP to make an appearance on my chart. It enters at #94 and it's unclear how high it will peak. Doubtful it will do as well as Dangerous but it could scratch out a decent peak. Finally, an album I'm surprised I never really listened to until this week, St. Vincent's Digital Witness climbs in at #96. It could fight a little and make it out of the bottom ranks, or get stuck there as some songs have in the past. I'm leaning towards a higher peak but that could change.
Say Goodbye is the most notable dropout this week, a former #1 chart hit that previously held the record for longest climb to the chart's top at 8 weeks (now T-3rd in that category). It bows out one week before tying The Walker for the chart's longevity record, falling off at 27 weeks. It should end up with a solid Year-End position though, so it made its mark on the chart. Portugal. The Man's The Sun becomes their third BU #1 hit, tying Cage the Elephant with that mark. It should make its entry in a week or two, just in time to continue the infinite revolving door of PtM songs. Holding On For Life holds off Stolen Dance for the Recurrent #1. I almost expanded the recurrent chart to 15 or even 25 spots this week, but figured it was too much work for a segment of the chart that wasn't critically important. So it remains at 10 slots. Other than that, no big news this week. Enjoy reading! It's nice seeing "Words As Weapons", "Dangerous", "Jealous", and "My Demons" so high.
I've noticed in your drop outs section it says Alex Clare - "War Rages On". Thanks for bringing it back to my attention! I had forgotten that he was even releasing lol.
Nice chart! :)

Nice chart! :) I found out about the lead single (if you can call it that since it had no US promotion ) from the Album Tracks/World Hits section. Haven't had a chance to listen to the full album yet though, I enjoyed most of The Lateness Of The Hour as well as the few songs I've heard off of Three Hearts, so hopefully the sophmore album is solid. Thanks for following the chart!

Starset makes it two Active-leaning #1's in a row, as My Demons jumps from #10 to grab the #1 slot. It still has momentum behind it so this one could end up with some of the chart legends in terms of #1 runs. We'll see how that shakes out. Words As Weapons descends to #2, though Same Damn Life is on its way up the chart so shouldn't be too long without a high charting Seether single. Trojans moves to #3, but may join the club with She Knows as songs that get blocked from #1 due to Starset's strong bullet. These Days was one of those songs as well, falling to #4 after four week's as the chart's highest placed song to never hit #1. Sleep Forever follows a similar path of descent, dropping two spots to make room for the next PtM Top 10 hit. Jealous continues to rise despite me saying it won't move up anymore. It's at #6 this week, and several songs are falling above it, so I'm not saying anything about it's spot next week. I'm Only Joking finally starts its drop, falling three spots to #7. The only new entry to the Top 10 is Gotta Get Away from the Black Keys. It entered right around when Turn Blue was released and had an initial chart peak of #24 the week of July 30th. It fell for a few weeks before having a strong rebound when being announced as the second radio single. That caused me to listen to the song again and it's been in heavy rotation ever since. It will likely outpeak Fever (#8) and become The Black Keys' strongest chart hit. Tongues falls four places, and Dangerous hangs on to the Top 10 for a 17th week. Probably going to be a while before that record gets beaten, an instance of a song that peaked on my chart right around the time it had just started its peak on radio, lengthening its descent. Spiderhead is dumped from the Top 10 this week, the only song to get ejected. Expect several new Top 10 entries next week, this week was a little slow in that regard.
Recovery is the Hot Shot Debut; Frank Turner continuing the 2013 Alternative hit trend from last week. It marks its place at #62, which is low for a HSD, but it has room to grow in the coming weeks. Calvin Harris and John Newman's Blame slots in at #68 after a week Bubbling Under. I would have charted it last week but I only heard it about a half hour before I finalized that chart, so if it was even a day later it would have earned a spot. Would You Fight For My Love? is the fourth single from Lazaretto to chart, and the second Alt radio single. I didn't think anything of it a few months ago but a full listen of the album made the song grow on me so here it is at #75. Joywave's follow-up Somebody New enters at #82 after three weeks Bubbling Under. Expect another slow climb and high peak from this one. Salt from Bad Suns joins at #87, closely following the entry of Cardiac Arrest, which is still storming upwards at #38 this week. I was going to leave it to the Bubbling Under chart this week but a last listen convinced me. Supernova, a former #1 AAA single that I got into kind of late debuts at #91. Not sure where that one's headed. Police, one of the few good songs from SomeKindaWonderful's self-titled debut starts off at #92. Doubt it will have the Top 10 success of Reverse. Finally, another Active track, Darker Side Of The Moon, falls into place at #96.
No huge dropouts this week, mostly clearing the lower reaches of the chart from the tracks that didn't really belong there anymore. Big news, at least for my weekly Pulse post, is I decided to include my Bubbling Under and Recurrent charts in the post. The Bubbling Under chart is 25 songs, and the Recurrent chart is a recently expanded 15, but I'm only listing the Top 10 of each since it's just supposed to be a quicker summary of the two charts. The Recurrent chart is on its way to 25 songs, but I wanted to expand it slowly week to week as I found more older songs that fit the Recurrent criteria. The Sun remains Bubbling Under at #1, though that should change soon. No One Knows is the recurrent #1 this week, the first song that never charted to hold that title. Expect that to be the norm as the Recurrent chart shifts to a combination of old chart hits and non-charting classic songs fighting for space. That's all I've got. WHOA @ "My Demons"... Hope "Don't", "ta fête", "Animals" and "Trainwreck 1979" keep moving and YAAAAAAS at the "Blame" and "Somebody New" debuts!!! I'd expect all of those songs except probably Don't to continue a strong upward charge. Blame has a pretty good shot at Top 10, and Joywave needs a little more time to grow but could be a solid follow-up to Tongues' #1 peak. So happy to see Animals rising!!!! After a quick listen of the album, either this track or It Was Only You is my favorite, sadly not that great of a Maroon 5 album imo. Animals should continue to rise and will probably grab at least a Top 20 peak. Thanks for checking out my chart this week! :)

Starset remains atop the chart; My Demons logging its second week at the summit. Trojans is around 3.5 years old but that doesn't stop it from hitting #2 on my chart. I doubt it's grabbing the #1 slot with a few challengers racing up the ranks but it should hang in the 2-5 range for a while. Words As Weapons surrenders a place but has a nice, slow coast down the table. Sleep Forever recovers a place without a bullet by virtue of no huge moves from songs below. Gotta Get Away claims the title of highest-peaking Black Keys song, earning them their first Top 5 hit. Jealous finally fulfills the prediction I made a while ago and starts to stall out at #6. These Days starts its descent, and with Bridge Burning struggling to hit the Top 10 it might take the new album (which is taking way too long to release anything) for the Foos to hit the Top 10 once more. Super Bon Bon moves to #8 and has a serious shot at #1 (and becoming the first non-current song to hit that peak) soon. I've been getting really into Soul Coughing recently, had no idea how awesome they were after just knowing Mike Doughty's solo stuff. Every Other Freckle earns a small boost to #9, partially due to This Is All Yours dropping, and partially because it's a fantastic song. Finally, Inhaler from Foals is the third song to enter the Top 10 this week after sitting above #15 for the last 3 weeks. Of note is Dangerous being absent after 17 weeks in the Top 10, destroying the old record by 4 weeks. With the Pop crossover hanging in the balance, it probably won't re-enter the top group but will have a very sluggish ride down the chart. Nevermind from Foster the People is the fifth and almost assuredly final song from Supermodel to chart (though I've been wrong before, maybe Fire Escape will get a shot). It's the Hot Shot at #71, second lowest HSD ever, only ahead of Kanye's Jesus Walks (#74 on the week of 2/19/14). It has a healthy bullet and should make some noise in the middle regions of the chart. Rent I Pay, follow-up to Spoon's Do You (currently sitting at #16), enters at #79. After a listen of the full album there will probably be a few singles in the future. Mike Doughty's bitterness about Soul Coughing doing well on my chart can hopefully be tempered by the fact that his new solo lead single Light Will Keep You Heart Beating In The Future joins at #81. Probably breaks some record about song title length in the process; I have no idea. Suspended Animation is the 3rd single from Max Frost's Low High Low EP, succeeding smash White Lies (#2) and relative flop Nice and Slow (#43). Probably will peak somewhere between the two. I had no idea Paolo Nutini had a new album coming, probably should have suspected something with the Iron Sky EP (which provided one strong multi-week Bubbler in the title track). Either way, Scream (Funk My Life Up) debuts at #87 with at least one other track on the way in the future. Continuing the Active trend as of recent, Crobot's Nowhere To Hide slots in at #91, and End Of Me from A Day To Remember joins at #94. Both have a shot to make a decent impact with the edge going to ADTR. Finally, after eight long weeks Bubbling Under, Miracle Mile from the Cold War Kids enters at #97. This probably won't peak highly, but it deserved a main chart entry. It's the second longest BU run to result in a main chart placing (John Newman's Losing Sleep is in the lead with 9 weeks). Also excited for new material from these guys though the lead single didn't leave a fantastic impression. Nico & Vinz have the only big dropoff of the week, Am I Wrong bows out after 24 weeks and a #3 peak. It enters the expanded 20-place recurrent chart at #14 and should have a few weeks there. Portugal. The Man's The Sun spends a rare third week at #1 on the Bubbling Under chart. It's only the fourth song to have that long grasp on this chart. (2 of the 3 others also happen to be PtM songs) Recurrent #1 goes to Swing Life Away from Rise Against, a song I've been listening to a lot lately and that deserves that peak. Next week is the final growth of that chart, bringing it to equal the Bubbling Under chart at 25 positions. Don't expect either of those to grow since I need time to not chart. Also two songs tie the all-time charting weeks record, with both After the Disco (#73) and Best Friend (#100) earning their 28th chart weeks. Only one of the two is likely to extend that mark, probably past 30 weeks. How long until the mark is broken again? Probably whenever Dangerous falls off, but that's much later down the road. Late writeup, but these are really only for my personal records anyway so whatever. Enjoy! Trojans is 3 years old why are you charting it... Most of these songs are old. That Soul Coughing song is from 1996. This chart isn't based on what radio defines as currents it seems.

Quick Rules (these are the base rules, I have some more written out but these three are really the main chart rules)1. ANY SONG can enter the Main/Bubbling Under charts, provided it hasn't been scrobbled on last.fm three times more than 12 months ago.
This means the song could be from any year and doesn't have to be recent, it just has to be new to me. This requires some personal discretion; I won't chart songs that I obviously knew about but hadn't happened to scrobble until recently. Songs also aren't required to be released as a single, album tracks and any other cuts can enter. In short, doesn't matter how old the song is, I just had to be unfamiliar with it before I heard it. Outside of a few bands that I was a huge fan of, I didn't have major exposure to new music or the wide spectrum of music until 2011ish at the earliest, just wasn't on my personal radar. I listened to the same handful of bands for ~6 years before branching out. Didn't start following the charts until early 2013, and didn't start following Alt charts until late 2013 so I've missed quite a bit and I'm catching up on it as fast as I can. I prefer my chart to be the 100 songs I currently enjoy the most and so if I find an older song I like it will chart. Different than how most people run their music charts but imposing random artificial rules on how new a song has to be to chart seems stupid to me, since release dates are across the board between countries and genres. I wouldn't be able to decide where that deadline should be, so I just decided to make the rule relative to when I listened to the songs through my last.fm.

My Demons stays atop the chart a third time in a relatively quiet week. Super Bon Bon is really the only song to make waves in the top frame, moving up six slots to #2. It's going to be a very close race to see who claims the #1 slot on October 8th. Trojans slips a position but remains solidly entrenched with a flat bullet. Gotta Get Away moves to #4, but with the battle at the top and a few new songs charging beneath its chances at reaching the peak are slim. Words As Weapons drops to #5, its chart run over but still holding heavy airplay. Every Other Freckle from alt-J continues its run bolstered by their new album. It climbs to #6 with a Top 5 peak easily in reach. Jealous is sort of stuck in a not-really-wanting-to-drop-but-clearly-not-going-any-higher-on-the-chart limbo so sticks around at #7. Sleep Forever and These Days flush out a few positions, and Inhaler holds at #10. Pretty boring Top 10, with no new entries and no huge surprises.
Circles continues the Soul Coughing craze that seems to have taken over the Portugal. The Man addiction from a few months ago. It debuts at #65 and might hinder Soft Serve's progress in the same way that Holding On For Life was blocked from its maybe true peak by After the Disco. New Politics dropped a new single that most people hated but after a few listens it grew on me. Everywhere I Go (Kings and Queens) slots in at #76. Outside of the semi-asinine lyrics, the music is solid and it should do well on my chart. Maybe not beating their highest peak (Dignity, #11) but still make a good run of it. How Many Cans is the fourth Soul Coughing track to debut, and probably has to fight a little harder to not be overshadowed by the other three. Follow Me Down, The Pretty Reckless' 2nd single (I skipped over f**ked/Messed Up World since it wasn't good) makes a strong entry at #84. Maybe a radio edit removing the excessively lengthy intro could help it charge up the ranks. All The Rage Back Home is a sleeper pick to be a Top 10 hit in the future. I passed over it for I guess a few months before coming back just recently and now it might be in the highest rotation of any song right now (outside of maybe Little Monster). Can't get the hook out of my head. The Sun might be the final Portugal. The Man track to debut for a while, I'm still heavily invested in listening to their discography but the singles are finally slowing down on the chart, maybe due to fatigue. Might wait for the next album to chart them again unless something really grabs me. Kendrick Lamar's much-anticipated return with i enters at #93. It's not anything like I was expecting but the track is catchy and might need a little time to grow on me as a "Kendrick track". Still excited to see how it fits into his 3rd album though. This Is The Time (Ballast) finally pushes in at #94 after seven weeks Bubbling Under. The heavier shift my chart has taken recently has probably helped. Finally, another really old song that managed to enter just before losing eligibility, Miss Jackson, lead single from Panic! At The Disco's last effort joins at #99. Really heavy play out of nowhere caused its entry this week.
Best Friend meets its end at 28 weeks, one short of breaking the longevity record from The Walker. Doesn't really matter though since After the Disco is still around and managed to push ahead at 29 weeks. At #83 it probably has a few more chartings to extend the record. After twelve long weeks on the recurrent chart, the Arctic Monkeys' R U Mine? finally ascends to the top. It's never slipped below #4 on the now-25 position chart, and should probably hold that title for a few more weeks. Come On Over from Royal Blood is the Bubbling Under champion, surely debuting next week after some of the lower position logjam is fixed. Kind of a late writeup, but who cares, the chart's up. Enjoy! Super Bon Bon emerges victorious in a very close battle for top billing. It's the first song to hit #1 on my chart that would be considered a Gold track (rather than current or recurrent), being released in 1996 as a part of Soul Coughing's second record, Irresistible Bliss. The deciding factor was My Demons falling in weekly plays just a bit compared to Super Bon Bon's heavy rotation. Starset's 3-week #1 is still far ahead of the rest of the field though, and only one or two songs stand a chance at passing it for the next few weeks. Gotta Get Away sneaks up to #3 in its 21st week charting, and though it won't reach #1 it will easily end with one of the five longest chart runs in history thanks to its slow build to the Top 10. Trojans sacrifices a spot to #4 and will begin a slow journey down the chart. Every Other Freckle moves to #5, now within striking distance of Fitzpleasure's #3 peak, alt-J's best to date. Little Monster is the big story this week, with heavy airplay it moves into the Top 10 and stands a serious chance at hitting #1 in the coming weeks, or at least matching Out Of The Black's #2 run. Words As Weapons is down to #7, but with Same Damn Life on the rise at #17 Seether won't have long to wait before another strong chart hit emerges. Trainwreck 1979 jumps into the ring at #8, but may get caught up chasing some songs with stronger bullets. Jealous is at #9 and nearing its Top 10 tenure. Still no sign of a follow-up single for Chromeo, maybe they'll be relegated to the rare one-hit wonder status on my chart. Down The Road is the final entry to the Top 10 after making waves a few weeks ago as a high Hot Shot Debut. Beggin For Thread from solo artist Banks is the Hot Shot this week at #67, proving I don't hate all of the solo Alt females charting now, just dislike most of their single attempts. Diane Young is Vampire Weekend's first chart entry, taking this long to chart because I hadn't heard it before (late to the chartwatching party, especially on Alt if you remember), and I really don't like Unbelievers after all of the recurrent play it's had in past months. Maybe I'll turn around my opinion on the band, though Step didn't thrill me. Kids These Days is the fifth song from Lunatic to chart, already outpeaking two of them. Probably won't hit Top 10 but will stake its claim much higher up on the chart than Escape and I Want To Know. Intro is the first non-single track from This Is All Yours to make an appearance. Despite annoying me since last.fm can't make the distinction between the two same-named tracks leading off both alt-J albums, it's earned a shot at chart fame. As their lead single hits Top 10, Right On, Frankenstein emerges as DFA1979's follow-up single at #85. Royal Blood and Soul Coughing have taken the reins from Portugal. The Man as the current most popular artist on the chart, and Come On Over tries to shift the balance in Royal Blood's favor. Back Seat is the third song from Atlas Genius to debut, after a ridiculous 14 weeks Bubbling Under. To put that in perspective, it started its BU run before Trojans even entered the main chart. It's the longest run on the chart, even including songs that didn't make the jump to the main chart. To add to the list of accomplishments it breaks the record of longest run on the Bubbling Under to make the main chart by five weeks (previously held by John Newman's Losing Sleep). Happy Idiot is a low-charting Alternative discovery from TV On The Radio that should do well after it builds a little momentum. Finally, Sir Sly adds Where I'm Going to its list of charted songs, though I can't see anything else from the album doing as well as Gold and You Haunt Me.
In dropout news this week, three Top 10 veterans are gone. Also Superheroes from The Script claims a record that no song really wants, which is biggest fall off of the chart at #61. (previous holders include Parade of Lights' Golden and Ed Sheeran's Sing). R U Mine holds the recurrent title, facing stiff competition from Alice In Chains' Down In A Hole. Bubbling Under leader is Soul Coughing's Screenwriter's Blues, which is almost a stream-of-consciousness poem rather than a song, but it will certainly make its dent on the chart next week. In chart housekeeping news, I've hosted most of the Top 10 single banner pictures on imgur so they won't disappear in the near future (Chromeo's link being broken was what spurred on the changes). That's it for this week, and the writeup happened to be timely too. It's great that "My Demons" hit number one. It's a shame that "Dangerous" and "Jealous" are falling, but at least they've had nice runs so far. I hope "You Haunt Me", "Animals", and "Blame", and "Get Hurt" can keep rising. I love your chart, as usual.

Little Monster ascends to the #1 position, beating Royal Blood's previous best song (Out Of The Black peaked at #2 for 2 weeks a few months ago) and looks set to have a solid run at the top. Super Bon Bon and My Demons continue their duel for position, though it's not for the top slot anymore. For now Soul Coughing remains at the top but Starset might flip above them soon. alt-J's Every Other Freckle makes a move for the Top 3. Had my second listen of This Is All Yours recently and the album grew on me, mostly because I wasn't looking for another An Awesome Wave this time. Gotta Get Away might be getting away from its peak, slipping to #5. Trojans follows suit, falling from #4 - #6. Down The Road is a new Top 10 entry that is already making moves. With several falling songs above, a Top 5 peak seems likely. Trainwreck 1979 stays at #8 with maybe a little upward momentum left. From Eden makes Hozier's second Top 10 single on the chart, following three week #1 Take Me To Church. Hozier's full album is filled with potential chart singles, so expect a long life on my chart. Words As Weapons rounds out the Top 10 in what appears to be its last week in the group.
Finally Starset has a followup single. As My Demons starts is descending but long Top 10 residency, Carnivore enters at #69. The orchestral sections of the strong really make the track, and I should probably get around to listening to the full album at some point. George Ezra's Budapest is the next entry, a track I looked over after hearing a few months ago. It just clicked with me this week, and heavy airplay gave it its high debut position. Songs with similar history (Twenty One Pilots - Holding On To You for example) have risen quickly but fallen quicker, so this may have a similar fate. Hell And Back enters, as not the new lead single from The Airborne Toxic Event, but as an older track that I just got into after forgetting about it when I heard it on the radio some time back. After a quick one week stint in the Bubbling Under chart, Shut Up And Dance from Walk The Moon enters at #88. It's challenging to get through the lower regions of the chart, so this song might get held up there. If it can break out it probably has a decent run ahead of it. Screenwriter's Blues is another Soul Coughing song advancing into the main chart with Top 40 aspirations that it can probably reach. Thousand Foot Krutch's lead single Born This Way has some parts I really don't like (the bridge/breakdown that vaguely sounds like a squaredance, for example) but it's been stuck in my head all week after coming to my attention recently so earned a slot. Finally, Way Down from the Foo Fighter's drummer side project band that has wormed its way into my chart this week. Unsure of its future prospects.
Biggest dropout news this week is Modern Jesus from Portugal. The Man. The song that started the craze, it bows out with 29 weeks under its belt and the knowledge that it was the track that helped me discover one of my favorite current bands. Bubbling Under #1 goes to Romantic Rights from Death From Above 1979's first album, stuck behind the new album's two charting singles. R U Mine? remains atop the recurrent chart with no major challengers. Nothing in terms of chart news, so enjoy!

Little Monster remains at #1. I think that outside of two songs that debuted this week, there aren't any immediate challengers to its top position. It could possibly challenge for the most weeks at #1 record despite maybe not being as heavily played as Dangerous. My Demons and Super Bon Bon swapped positions but still stay in the Top 3. Every Other Freckle and Gotta Get Away stay in the Top 5 and don't swap positions. Both songs might struggle to go any higher, though alt-J has a much better shot at peaking at #2 or higher. Down The Road is the first song to make a legitimate push upwards. It moves from #7 to #6, and Hozier is close behind with From Eden moving from #9 to #7. Trainwreck 1979 is stuck at #8 for the third straight week, though its decline appears imminent due to Right On, Frankenstein flying up the chart from below. Trojans nears its Top 10 closure, slipping to #9. Same Damn Life moves into the top 10 just as Words As Weapons exits, Seether keeping a 10 week tenure in the Top 10 positions. (Dangerous had a 17 week stay, so even the single song record is far off).
In Hot Shot Debut news, Something From Nothing from the Foo Fighters surprises no one and makes a strong entry at #37. It's the second highest debut ever (only trailing Broken Bells' After the Disco at #29) and will make a quick climb into the Top 10. #1 slot is easily in the conversation but I'll have to see how the song grows on me with time. Second debut isn't a huge shocker either, as Big Data's second single The Business Of Emotion, featuring White Sea enters at #66. This won't hit #1 for five weeks, but it will pretty easily snatch a Top 10 peak. I really want to see it do well on Alternative Radio, but I fear it won't do much. Next up is one of two debuts I'll probably get some s**t for, as Only from Nine Inch Nails starts its life at #80. I had absolutely no familiarity with NIN until a few weeks ago (as I've said before, my past self has very selective musical knowledge). So being as I'd never heard anything other than Head Like A Hole (which I recognized upon hearing but wouldn't have known it was NIN), a quick listen of their biggest songs allowed two to debut, the other song being The Hand That Feeds at #86. Hopefully that precludes any future questions those debuts might get. Back to more current entries, Hozier's Angel Of Small Death and the Codeine Scene charts at #83. I'm trying not to use up all of Hozier's singles right away, and there are at least two more in the Bubbling Under or future charting pipeline ready at some point. All This Could Be Yours was a Cold War Kids song I didn't immediately enjoy but it has grown on me. Maroon 5's probable last single from V enters as Coming Back For You. Doubt it's getting out of the lower regions of the chart but who knows. Finally, St. Vincent's followup to Digital Witness, Birth In Reverse is the last song to enter at #99. Unsure of where that one is going.
Arguably the chart's most dominant song so far, After the Disco, finally leaves at 31 weeks charted. It's the only song to make it over 30 (for now), and was the first to reach more than three weeks at the chart's peak. Romantic Rights is the top Bubbler again, and might struggle to make a main chart appearance. R U Mine? obtains a fourth straight week at the #1 recurrent slot, and is only one week away from tying Stolen Dance's non-consecutive 5 weeks at the top there. That's it for the news this week.

Didn't know you liked the Starset track! It's finished with it's run at the top, but should spend a lot of time in the Top 10. Blame should hit Top 10 in a few weeks. Thanks for checking out the chart!

Top of the chart is sort of boring, as Little Monster and My Demons continue to dominate the first two positions. Every Other Freckle continues its slow climb through the top 10, moving to #3 and tying the highest alt-J peak (Fitzpleasure). It might sneak into the Top 2 by virtue of the two older songs starting to drop slightly. From Eden fights to #4, claiming Hozier's second Top 5 chart hit (behind 3-week #1 Take Me To Church). Super Bon Bon begins a descent as it falls two positions, though another Soul Coughing song (or at least a Mike Doughty track) should join the Top 10 soon. Down The Road's upward momentum is slowed by the Top 5 roadblock, but it should be able to reach that coveted placing in the next few weeks. Same Damn Life joins From Eden as a #1 follow-up reaching the Top 10. It might struggle to hit Top 5 with other strong tracks with a little more momentum. Recovery is Frank Turner's first Top 10 chart single and the first new track in the prestigious group. Trainwreck 1979 stalls out at #8 (hey, it's better than #11 like on Mediabase) but their second single should, as said in past weeks, break that barrier. Came Back Haunted is a bit of a late entry, coming on the heels of C2C and Frank Turner with an early 2013 Alternative explosion on my chart. It's the song that made me look back at Nine Inch Nails' discography and found some great future chart hits. In a bit of a slow week for debuts, Pop Evil's third chart single grabs the hot shot title with Deal With The Devil at #71. It has a shot to go near Torn To Pieces' peak (#18) but will probably end up in the 30s range if I had to make a prediction now. Up next in the series of "how could you follow the charts and completely miss this" songs, A Light That Never Comes, the Steve Aoki and Linkin Park collaboration, etners at #74. With this week's debuts on the weak side, it could snatch some momentum and become the strongest of this week's fresh entries. Loose Change continues the steady but smothering grip Royal Blood has on the chart, joining at #84. Cecelia and the Satellite probably should have entered a week or two ago but it's here now and has room to grow. The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone) was a song I wrote off as elevator music filler, but after a few more listens it grew on me and I gave it a shot on the chart. Waves enters at #91 and might be a dark horse candidate for a Top 10 peak in the future. Finally, one of those songs that I have no idea where it will end up, Parked Outside from The Afghan Whigs claims the #98 slot. Bubbling Under #1 goes to The Feast and the Famine, it probably would have debuted this week but I heard it a little to late in the window for it to sneak in. Expect a high (maybe Hot Shot contending) debut next week. R U Mine? spends a fifth straight week at the #1 Recurrent slot, maybe a sign of what its dominance could have been if I had started my chart a little earlier. If it holds on next week it claims the most weeks atop the recurrent chart alone. There were several notable dropouts, four former Top 10 hits among them. Two ex-#2 hits ( White Lies and Out Of The Black), along with another titan of the Portugal. The Man summer domination in Creep In A T-Shirt, and 3005, Childish Gambino's earworm that just couldn't muster enough strength for a Top 3 peak. That's it for this week's chart, less than 10 until the end of the year, happy to say I haven't missed a week yet and don't plan to for quite some time. Thanks for reading! It's nice to see "My Demons" holding at number two. I would say I enjoy your number one, but I'll have to check it out first.
Anyways, I'm glad to see alt-J and Hozier rising within the top ten. Hopefully "Blame", "Beggin' For Thread", "Budapest", "I", and St. Vincent can keep rising.
Great chart as usual, Webinator! :)

Honestly only know a handful or so of the songs on your chart, but just wanted to say your layout is beautiful! Lol

Blame will easily hit Top 10, maybe Top 5 if it gets lucky. I have no idea where Waves is headed but it will probably hit Top 25 and has a shot at a nice Top 10 run. Too early to tell though, thanks for reading as always! :) Most of the songs you listed have pretty strong bullets, except for maybe "I" since I haven't decided if I like it yet or not. It's such a departure from the GKMC sound that it's really hard to get used to. St. Vincent might get caught in the bottom slots of the chart but other than that the rest should enjoy a strong chart life. Thanks again for your weekly comments! Honestly only know a handful or so of the songs on your chart, but just wanted to say your layout is beautiful! Lol Thanks! Took a lot of trial and error on Excel but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out so far.

Little Monster makes it four weeks at the top, which breaks it out of a large group of 3-weekers and tied for the second longest stint at #1 of all time. If it hangs on one more week it ties Dangerous for that record. Every Other Freckle sneaks to its likely final peak, #2. Not just sure what the next single will be, the album probably needs a relisten. My Demons gives up a spot, but remains in the Top 10 for its 9th week. From Eden doesn't really do anything this week and might have reached its peak as well, though there are a bunch of Hozier singles waiting in the wings to become the next primary focus. Recovery is up to a top 5 peak this week, and Frank Turners second single is already on the rise. Super Bon Bon slides down to make room for Mike Doughty's single Light Will Keep Your Heart Beating In The Future in the Top 10 soon. Room To Breathe is the only new Top 10 track this week, and one with a very strong, renewed bullet in the past few weeks. It might have a shot at the #1 slot once Royal Blood cools down. Down The Road and Same Damn Life slide a little but both have bullets. They might get caught up with the faster rising songs and might get blocked from higher peaks. Came Back Haunted stays at #10, with room for a new peak in a few weeks. As projected last week (which is sort of unfair for anyone betting since I control the result anyway), The Feast and the Famine grabs the hot shot title with an entry at the 66th position. Expect most of the Foo Fighter's upcoming LP to chart over the next few months. The Way I Tend To Be enters at #81 after a week Bubbling Under, Frank Turner's second charting single attempting to follow up the Top 5 (and still rising) hit Recovery. In at #85 is Balance from Opus Orange. A track going for Alternative airplay that might not reach any level of prominence, but I've been digging the smooth bassline this past week. Yelawolf's offering to Alternative radio, Till It's Gone debuts at #88. It had to grow on me after a listen or two but I'm enjoying it now. WTF? from OK GO is a retro track that I stumbled upon after listening to some of OK Go's more prominent hits. Not sure where it's headed. Next up is The Voice alum Jamar Rogers, my favorite contestant on the one season of the Voice I watched, with a single Drink Of You. Childish Gambino's third charting track, Crawl, enters at #96. It follows #4-peaking 3005, and #46 peaking Sweatpants. Probably won't hit Top 10 but remains to be seen if it can get second place. Finally, Kathleen from Catfish and the Bottlemen is rumbling around in the bottom reaches of the Alt Top 50, and is trying to do the same on my chart. After five weeks at #1, R U Mine concedes the #1 recurrent slot to Cage the Elephant's Come A Little Closer. Melophobia is such a great album and I can't get enough of some of the tracks, especially Spiderhead. Bubbling Under #1 is Hands Up from Vince Staples. Probably will debut in the next few weeks. No big name dropouts this week, though Gold is nearing the bottom of the chart and the all-time weeks charted record. If it hangs around one more chart it ties After the Disco at 31 weeks charted. Finally, in chart housekeeping, I did away with the Mac & Cheese colored Bubbling Under and replaced it with the same blue I use for the Hot Shot Debut label. I'm not sure where that color even came from, it's a hex code experiment gone horribly wrong. Thanks for reading the chart, only a few weeks until the end of the year and my Year End Top 100 countdown!
