Them perfect harmonies still in tact! Gosh, I'm still so in love with Irish.
Are they adding more dates?

I'm so pumped for their Unsung episode, the previews look good. It seems like it was really healing for them to share their story.

I don't miss an Unsung and am excited for the 702 one, but that show is the worst when it comes to hyperbole. Every damn singer or group featured was like nothing else on the radio, doing things that hadn't been done, didn't sound like anyone else, etc. It's like Donald Trump writes for the show.

Lol, I agree with you. But I do think 702 had a unique sound, and on their first album all of them sang lead unlike other groups where only one singer sang lead (Destiny Child)

They have always sounded horrible live and this was no exception. I’m interested in hearing their story because it’s never been clear what ended them.

I wish Meelah would release her solo album.

Even in the studio, their vocals weren't it. In the 90s, it was all about beats and hip-hip fusion (thanks Mariah!) So many vocally inferior groups (male and female) got passes.

The hyperbole in their episode was killing me but I enjoyed hearing their story in their own words. Star deserved so much better!!

I'm glad they're back together doing stuff, maybe we'll get some music out of them?
Woof at those performances, Irish and Misha always sounded a mess, but Meelah usually sounded better than that. She's definitely seen some vocal wear and tear.

I don’t understand why they didn’t do a different take for “Get It Togeher” considering it was pre recorded.

As usual the show really oversold the importance of the group, but there was a lot more drama within the group that I ever knew. Solid overall.

As usual the show really oversold the importance of the group, but there was a lot more drama within the group that I ever knew. Solid overall. In what way was their importance oversold? I really didn't get that feeling watching the episode. Some quotes were that "When you think of the 90s you think of 702" (nah, I think of 50 other acts first) and something about how they didn't sound like anything else on the radio. Also just a general vibe that they accomplished more than they did; the reality is they only had like 3 hits with their own music. "Beep Me 911" got a segment in the show, and it's a feature credit that wasn't even a big hit. It isn't just this episode, though. The show does this on every artist. I get that they want to highlight artists who are maybe a bit forgotten or unheralded, but they go overboard. For me it's like a drinking game now where I can take a drink when they give some overpraise.

It was sad to see how devastated Amelia still is, being told to leave the group. Some quotes were that "When you think of the 90s you think of 702" (nah, I think of 50 other acts first) lol 50!

It was sad to see how devastated Amelia still is, being told to leave the group. Agreed, and all of that information was interesting. And I loved the singles from their first album, so revisiting it was nice (though we couldn't hear "Steelo"). Once you run through all of the divas, the big R&B groups, the alt-rock groups, the country/pop stars, the Latin stars, and the teen pop acts, I get to 702. That isn't shade, it's just that there were a ton of big acts in the 90s, and 702 was not one of them.

I agree that quote was a bit of a stretch but let's be real though they did outlast a lot other countless R&B female groups (Brownstone, Kut Klose, Mokenstef, etc) and made a lasting impression.
