I think Ronnie's best bet is for them to try to put out a B&D single. I don't know if that'll be possible since Kix is kind of doing his thing on his label right now but the key behind all this is money. A new B&D single would sell like crazy and may be able to get up the charts as well.

But guess what songs have been on power rotation in the past month on Nash Icons? Burnin It Down, Leave The Night On, Dirt, etc. They also had Chase Rice on power in the past. The ratings will go way down if they ever refuse to play popular "bro" songs on Nash Icon. Right now, it's called a balanced playlist for Nash Icon. If they get rid of Jason/Sam/FGL, then they have a skewed playlist and lose the young demo that they were bragging about. Looking solely at the currents/recurrents on the WSM-FM playlist this week, the top-10 includes "Leave the Night On," "Burnin' It Down" and "Dirt" alongside Glen Campbell's "I'm Not Gonna Miss You," and the #1 current (with 46 spins) is Keith Urban's "Somewhere in My Car." With the top-10 songs on the WSM playlist receiving 30-46 spins as opposed to 46-71 spins for the WSIX top-10, there's a lot more room for recurrent play on that playlist. And this somewhat more balanced playlist appears to have taken another bite out of Nashville's Clear Channel country station WSIX in October, having outperformed that station to take a second consecutive month as the top country station in the market. The thing is, if the "balanced" Nash Icons playlist is outperforming the more current WSIX playlist, then it's a strong endorsement of the diversity that a number of us here have been arguing for, as opposed to playlists that are almost exclusively female-objectifying corporate rock/pop amalgams with hip-hop pretensions. On the other hand, based on that current playlist, the gender (im)balance on WSM-FM doesn't look any better than the national country radio charts at the moment, and that's deflating to see.

A dedicated NASH-TV category will make available original country artist interviews filmed at the NASH campus in Nashville along with Music Choice music videos. Content from "America's Morning Show" and "NASH Night's Live" will be utilized to form content as well as the addition of a new cooking show entitled "NASH Grits & Hits" (lol), a style show called "NASH Lash" (double lol) and an event show entitled "Red Carpet Radio". The current Music Choice "Today's Country" and "Country Hits" will now include NASH and NASH ICON programming blocks from 6p-9p ET daily. NASH brand facts and photos will appear on screen to compliment the music selection and enhance the experience for listeners. The "Today's Country" video channel on MUSICCHOICE.com will also be co-branded as "Today's Country: NASH TV" and will feature programming originated from the NASH campus alongside Music Choice videos. Cumulus will launch NashTV programming on January 26th. Thus far NashTV involves 12 programs, including content from radio programs America's Morning Show, Nash Nights Live, and Kickin' It With Kix. Other programs include style Nash Lash (still lol @ that), cooking shows BBQ Tricks, and Grits & Hits, as well as American Music Overseas and Real Live Performances, Proud: Everyday American Heroes and sporting programming Hick Xtreme and Picks From The Sticks. The programming will be available on-demand via musicchoice.com, as well as Music Choice's iOS and Android Apps. Music Row

Very interesting article on Nash Icon Records in tonight's Country Aircheck Weekly. I bolded some of the parts that I found most interesting.
Iconography Discography
So apparently the Nash Icons imprint doesn't actually have its own radio promo team (like Big Machine, Valory, Republic, and Dot do). Reba's single is listed as "Valory/Nash Icon" but the Valory team is still the one promoting it to radio. If Martina has a single go to radio, she would need one of the other labels to promote it (most likely Republic, since she was signed there for a brief stint anyway). It'll be interesting to see if that happens, and to also see if one of the BMLG imprints would promote a Ronnie Dunn single should he decide to cater to mainstream country radio.
Actually, come to think of it, since the Nash Icon label is co-owned by Cumulus, any singles released to mainstream country radio by Nash Icon artists will probably get added to the Cumulus block anyway, even if there is no radio promo team behind those singles.

Martina McBride On Building Brand with NASH Icon:Martina McBride took time to discuss with MusicRow her recent projects including a new deal with Nash Icon. The move marked her rejoining the Big Machine Label Group fold after stepping away to independently release her Everlasting soul and R&B cover album. “I learned you have a lot of responsibility in releasing your own album,” McBride said on the red carpet of the Music Biz awards in Nashville last Thursday (May 14). “It’s important to surround yourself with great people and I’m super excited about the Nash Icon deal because of that—being surrounded by the best in the business. They think outside the box, have passion and positive energy. That’s half the battle and feels really good. “There are quite a few differences between this Nash Icon deal and my old deal with Republic Nashville. Nash Icon has a string of radio stations with Cumulus. They’ve signed us to make new music for that format. So it’s a great opportunity to create and have a place for our fans to hear our music. And to be apart of something innovative, groundbreaking and a whole new format in country music.” The first release on the label, headed by Jim Weatherson and Scott Borchetta, was Reba McEntire’s Love Somebody. Ronnie Dunn, McBride and most recently Hank Williams Jr. have been tapped to record new music for the Cumulus partnership of 26-operating Nash Icon radio stations, which is also distributed to stations nationwide through Westwood One. McBride also discussed building her brand outside of music. In October of last year she released a book about hosting and entertaining titled, Around the Table (William Morrow/HarperCollins Publishing). “The most successful way to build your brand is to be yourself,” McBride continued. “I love to cook and entertain and really wanted to write a book that made it easy for people who are overwhelmed or have never done it before.” Another way McBride spends her time is with philanthropic efforts. Those include countless domestic violence projects, such as work with the National Domestic Violence Hotline, National Network to End Domestic Violence, Tulsa Domestic Violence as well as Loveisrespect and the National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline to create the “My Time to Shine.” She also lends support to Middle Tennessee’s annual YWCA Celebrity Auction, Kids Wish Network, and Stand Up 2 Cancer Telethon. “Philanthropy for me is all about using this platform to do some good and raise awareness and make a difference,” McBride summed of her efforts that earned her the Music Biz’s Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award last week. McBride has sold over 18 million albums, which have included 20 Top 10 singles and six No. 1 hits. As she preps her next project, she recently invited songwriters to the Big Machine Label Group offices to discuss her upcoming work. Music Row

Also look for a certain reunited 80's group with Marty Raybon on lead vocals to sign with them. Supposedly another big group on the roster has recorded a duet with them.....

You must be speaking of Shenandoah! And do you mean another "big group" as in another artist on Nash Icon, or some other artist within the overall BMLG roster?
