Well, it was her first chart entry, didn't have a video, etc. It, like "Borderline," though, has endured as an ultimate classic.

I'm assuming Problem's lyric video did better since the official was just released, or is it because people can't understand what Ariana is saying? Lol

www.billboard.com/articles/news/6106516/coldplay-chills-for-second-week-at-no-1-mariah-carey-debuts-at-no-3Over on the Digital Songs chart, Azalea's "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX, holds at No. 1 with 283,000 downloads sold (down 14 percent). Azalea is also in the No. 2 slot as a featured artist on Ariana Grande's "Problem," which sells 243,000 (down 15 percent). Nico & Vinz's "Am I Wrong" is also stationary as it sits at No. 3 for another week, selling 149,000 (down 5 percent). MAGIC!'s "Rude" jumps 9-4 with 141,000 (up 25 percent), while DJ Snake & Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What" is steady at No. 5 with 137,000 (down less than 1 percent). Jason Derulo's "Wiggle," featuring Snoop Dogg, rises 7-6 with 133,000 (up 7 percent), and John Legend's "All of Me" slides 4-7 with 123,000 (down 16 percent). 5 Seconds of Summer earns the chart's highest debut, as "Good Girls" climbs in at No. 8 with 121,000. It's the biggest sales week yet for the pop/rock band, surpassing the 91,000 start of "Don't Stop." Both songs are featured on the band's self-titled full-length album, due for release on July 22. Pharrell's "Happy" moves 6-9 with 113,000 (down 15 percent), and Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" vaults 18-10 with 103,000 (up 28 percent). It's the first visit to the top 10 for Smith, who has three songs in the top 40 this week. He's also at No. 17 on Disclosure's "Latch" and at No. 36 on Naughty Boy's "La La La." Digital track sales this past week totaled 20.8 million downloads, down 6 percent compared with last week (22.1 million) and down 14 percent stacked next to the comparable week of 2013 (24.2 million). Year-to-date track sales are at 508.4 million, down 12 percent compared with the same total at this point last year (579.9 million).

When does Billboard generally release their mid-year sales? It's definitely past the 6 month mark now.

^ so you're just saying I'm wrong and that there are many people over 30 that like Fancy? And on what grounds to you come to that conclusion? Mine is at least reasonable as I use the idea of target audience to back up my prediction. my point is that neither of us could ever come close to surveying even half of the 30 year old's in the US, so neither of us can make any conclusive statements about what "most"/"the majority" of 30+ year old's like. it's better to refrain from making assumptions and generalizations. it's just as obnoxious as when people say things like: "well, you know how the gays love ________" "all dudes are fans of _________" "women can't get enough of _______" stats shouldn't be used to further stereotypes. Surveys are portions of populations though. It's what they are because it's impossible to question an entire population. The reliability of a survey depends on how diverse the portion of the population is in relation to the diversity of the population that portion is supposed to represent. So when it comes to a radio format audience, for example, that's a much more specific population than a general one or even an age one. Pop radio, for example, is a specific age range of something like 16-34 or 16-28 or whatever it is, while Hot AC is an older range (26-45?). Both also skew toward females and I'm sure there's ethnicity and annual income in there as well that determine relevance. I think to say something like "Fancy doesn't appeal to people over 30" is an empty statement based on an assumption using personal perspective but it's not completely whack. It's a hypothesis and it's where something like a survey would come in handy to determine if the statement is true or not. I'm sure the label asked that very same question when deciding whether to push the song at Hot AC radio or not. If they did, their research probably suggested that enough people over 30 probably do like the song, in which case the original statement is null.

Iggy Azalea Remains Atop Hot 100 With 'Fancy'; MAGIC!, Calvin Harris Hit Top 10The Australian rapper holds at No. 1 with 'Fancy' and No. 2 as a featured act on Ariana Grande's 'Problem.' Plus, MAGIC! and Calvin Harris reach the top 10 Iggy Azalea spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX, and remains at No. 2 as a guest on Ariana Grande's "Problem," which soars with top Streaming and Airplay Gainer honors. Meanwhile, two songs reach the top 10: MAGIC!'s "Rude" and Calvin Harris' "Summer." As we do each Wednesday, let's run down all the action in the Hot 100's top 10 and more. Azalea continues her record-tying run at the chart's top two spots: last week, when "Fancy" and "Problem" rose 2-1 and 3-2, respectively, she joined the Beatles as the only acts to rank at Nos. 1 and 2 simultaneously with their first two Hot 100 entries; On the Feb. 22, 1964, chart, the Fab Four's "I Want to Hold Your Hand" held at No. 1 and "She Loves You" pushed 3-2. Azalea also becomes just the second woman to rank at Nos. 1 and 2 concurrently for multiple weeks, following Ashanti, who doubled up for five frames in 2002. (One other female soloist has claimed the top two ranks for one week: Mariah Carey [who enters this week's Billboard 200 at No. 3] on Sept. 10, 2005.) (And, as noted last week, Azalea will celebrate her birthday with the No. 1 song in the U.S.: the Australian rapper turns 24 this coming Saturday, June 7.) "Fancy" maintains is Hot 100 command despite dips in sales and streaming. The track jumps 5-3 on the Radio Songs chart with a 16 percent gain to 81 million all-format audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS. As previously reported, it lands its first perches atop airplay charts, as it rises 2-1 on both Rhythmic Songs and Rap Airplay; it also charges 4-2 on Pop Songs and jumps 36-28 in its second week on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay. "Fancy" crowns Digital Songs for a second week but decreases by 14 percent to 289,000 downloads sold in the tracking week ending on June 1, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It racks a third week at No. 1 on Streaming Songs, down by 3 percent to 13.5 million U.S. streams. (The song had soared last week by 44 and 66 percent in sales and streaming, respectively, after Azalea and Charli XCX performed it on the Billboard Music Awards on May 18). Still, "Fancy" holds off "Problem" for the Hot 100's top rank, although the latter song surges following the premiere of its official video, boasting top Streaming and Airplay Gainer kudos. "Problem" returns to its No. 2 peak on Streaming Songs, up 25 by percent to 13 million after its official clip arrived on May 30. (It, thus, misses the top spot on Streaming Songs by approximately 500,000 streams.) On Radio Songs, "Problem" pounces 10-7 (94 million, up 29 percent.) "Problem" ranks at No. 2 on Digital Songs for a second week, after spending its first three weeks at No. 1, down by 15 percent to 243,000. Grande likewise sang the song on the Billboard Music Awards, with Azalea. With "Fancy" down by 5 percent in overall Hot 100 points and "Problem" up by 6 percent, the former claims 15 percent more chart points than the latter. "Problem" nearly halves its deficit, however: last week, "Fancy" won by a 28 percent margin. "Fancy" additionally leads the sales/airplay/streaming-based Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts for a second and seventh week, respectively. John Legend's "All of Me" places at No. 3 on the Hot 100 for a second week after logging three weeks at No. 1. Still, it tallies a sixth week at No. 1 on Radio Songs (158 million, down 2 percent). It rebounds 5-4 on Streaming Songs (6.6 million, down 8 percent) and drops 4-7 on Digital Songs (123,000, down 16 percent); Legend also performed "All" on the BBMAs. Rounding out the Hot 100's top five, DJ Snake and Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What" (5-4) swaps spots with Pharrell Williams' former 10-week No. 1 "Happy" (4-5). "What" tops the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for a 10th week, becoming just the third song to reign for 10 weeks or more since the list's launch last year; Avicii's "Wake Me Up!" ruled for a record 26 weeks and Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," featuring Williams, led for 13. Norwegian pop duo Nico & Vinz pushes 8-6 with its first Hot 100 hit, "Am I Wrong." The track holds at No. 3 on Digital Songs (149,000, down 5 percent), rises 16-14 on Streaming Songs (3.3 million, up 5 percent) and bounds 20-14 on Radio Songs with a hefty 30 percent blast to 68 million. Pop radio is championing "Wrong," which jumps 15-12 on Pop Songs and 16-11 as the Greatest Gainer on Adult Pop Songs. Katy Perry's former four-week Hot 100 No. 1 "Dark Horse," featuring Juicy J, dips 6-7. The song continues Perry's longest top 10 run, as it spends a 22nd frame in the top tier. Last week, it passed "E.T.," featuring Kanye West, which logged 20 weeks in the top 10 in 2011. (Notably, both songs represent Perry's more experimental, trap-leaning forays; meanwhile, current single "Birthday," which showcases her more core pure-pop sound, holds at its No. 17 highpoint.) Below Perry, two titles freshen the Hot 100's top 10. Canadian pop/reggae quartet MAGIC! climbs 15-8 with its debut entry "Rude." The song wins top Digital Gainer honors as it grows by 25 percent to 141,000 and rises 9-4 on Digital Songs. It also rockets into the Streaming Songs top 10 (23-10; 4.1 million, up 49 percent) and lifts 25-18 on Radio Songs (57 million, up 32 percent). While "Rude" marks MAGIC!'s first Hot 100 top 10 (after reaching No. 6 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 last month), it's the fourth top 10 as a writer for frontman Nasri Atweh. He previously reached the region as a writer on Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never," featuring Jaden Smith (No. 8, 2011); Bieber's "As Long as You Love Me," featuring Big Sean (No. 6, 2012); and Pitbull's "Feel This Moment," featuring Christina Aguilera (No. 8, 2013). Calvin Harris' "Summer" likewise enters the Hot 100's top 10, coasting 12-9. It makes an identical 12-9 advance on Radio Songs (81 million, up 16 percent), enters the Streaming Songs top 10 (15-9; 4.2 million, up 13 percent) and pushes 13-11 on Digital Songs (97,000, up 13 percent). Harris claims his third Hot 100 top 10, following his guest turn on Rihanna's 10-week 2011-12 No. 1 "We Found Love" (which he wrote and produced) and his own "Sweet Nothing," featuring Florence Welch (No. 10, 2013). Speaking of summer, this week brings the return of Billboard's Songs of the Summer chart. Stay tuned for the first ranking, and an analysis of this summer's top hits so far, on Billboard.com tomorrow. (The 10-position Songs of the Summer running tally tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly Hot 100 from Memorial Day through Labor Day. At the end of the season, the top song of summer 2014 will be crowned.) Wrapping the Hot 100's top 10, Jason Derulo's "Wiggle," featuring Snoop Dogg, bullets for a second week at No. 10. The song (which Derulo sang as part of a medley with previous single "Talk Dirty" on the BBMAs, with Snoop Dogg and 2 Chainz) rises 7-6 on Digital Songs (133,000, up 14 percent) and 8-7 on Streaming Songs (5.9 million, up 11 percent), while approaching Radio Songs (26 million, up 35 percent). Two songs depart the Hot 100's top 10: Derulo's No. 3-peaking "Talk Dirty" (7-13) and Justin Timberlake's No. 8 hit "Not a Bad Thing" (9-11); still, the latter holds at No. 2 on Radio Songs with 126 million (up 2 percent). As previously reported, "Thing" climbs 2-1 on the Adult Pop Songs radio airplay chart while spending a second week at No. 1 on Pop Songs. Visit Billboard.com tomorrow (June 5), when all rankings, including the Hot 100 in its entirety and Digital Songs, Radio Songs and Streaming Songs, will refresh, as they do each Thursday. The latest charts will also appear in the next issue of Billboard magazine (on sale on Friday, June 6). www.billboard.com/articles/news/6106532/iggy-azalea-hot-100-fancy-magic-calvin-harris

"Fancy"'s airplay and sales info is wrong. The Billboard data or another post? Billboard has been error-prone today (made a mistake with Brantley Gilbert's album sales). I think the publication is pissed that Iggy Azalea reported the #1 last week - which meant that virtually every entertainment publication was able to beat Billboard in posting a story about its own chart. So it rushed this week.

"JUST" the 3rd song to spend 10+ weeks at No. 1 in a year's time, when 1 of the three songs was there for 26 weeks? really, Billboard? just how slow do you expect turnover to be? Wrapping the Hot 100's top 10, Jason Derulo's "Wiggle," featuring Snoop Dogg, bullets for a second week at No. 10. No. 7 -> No. 6 on Digital Songs No. 8 -> No. 7 on Streaming Songs but not enough airplay to even crack the Radio Songs Top 50? time to get with the program radio, and "wiggle wiggle wigggle...". this ain't some Disney soundtrack song, it's a jam from a prior airplay hit-maker!

"JUST" the 3rd song to spend 10+ weeks at No. 1 in a year's time, when 1 of the three songs was there for 26 weeks? really, Billboard? just how slow do you expect turnover to be? I thought that was pretty hilarious too. When 49 weeks since last year have been taken up by three songs it's not impressive to be "just the third" to accomplish ten weeks on top.
