For me, All For You has its moments, but this album as a whole is FAR from perfection.

#40 Make Me 2009, Number Ones (i guess i had "Janet" album in mind, wrongly credited it to that album in a previous post, stay tuned for more Coco messy errors!)
Classic Janet, playful, uptempo and makes you wanna squirm in your seat. This song received some critical acclaim for capturing the essence of who Janet is as a musical artist. One of those songs that have a little bit of everything, disco, pop and funk all blended into a presentation only Janet can serve.
Just like a recent song of, Mariah's album its just one of those songs you wanna blast in the summer, be it in your car or wearing booty shorts and rollerblades while licking a lollipop to seduce the boys, boys!

There aren't many in the business who can rival this stretch of album perfection: Control - Rhythm Nation 1814 - janet. - The Velvet Rope - All For You @spiritanimal and @antigonerising can confirm that I was just talking about that a few days ago via PM. ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif) #41 Escapade 1989, Rhythm Nation 1814 JAM!! #40 Make Me 2009, Number Ones JAM!! if it were almost any other poster or almost any other artist i would be so pissed right now at how long it took Firefox to load all these images. but it's Coco and it's Janet, so all is forgiven ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif) even the bonus tracks slay :'( (just to be technical though, Vienna is in Austria - not live from Swiss land b/c Pentecost is this weekend and Switzerland all but shuts down for all holidays. you think my heathen ass was gonna sit in my room with no wifi and nothing to do? hell no) "Where Are You Now" is perfection. It got tons of radio airplay without even being a single. Great for album sales, I guess. This was an amazing era for Janet. I know it did, but just imagine what wonders it would do for Janet if it was properly released with video and several live performences... It's the worst case of a hit that run away from her discography maybe along with Lonely for me. Such a wasted opportunity. quoting this out of pure joy...I almost talked about Lonely b/c I hardly ever see or hear anyone mention it. So glad someone else loves it as much as I do! Very soothing, lush harmonies (also what Mario and I were talking about a few days ago, as he mentioned). Sometimes when i can't go to sleep I choose that song to play.

Very soothing, lush harmonies (also what Mario and I were talking about a few days ago, as he mentioned). Sometimes when i can't go to sleep I choose that song to play. Well, Lonely is for me way more than just a Lullaby. It's been THE song from Rhythm Nation for years. It got me through a lot. Very uplifting message combined with one of the most beautiful melodies in her discography makes this song her little masterpiece, people little know about. Doubtful that Janet even remember about this song. RR1814 made history, but it's also a very strong record as a whole, one of her most cohesive to date. (TVR stays unbothered tho) But I think some of the songs are underesvingly neglected due to so many smashes on the same LP. For me: Lonely > The Knowledge > *Someday Is Tonight >>>> The Singles (apart from Alright). *Why wasn't this a single? it's a continuation from Let's Wait a While and maybe if it was released people weren't so surprised with the amount of sexuality on Janet.

#40 Make Me was a really big surprise for me after Feedback. I love it since the first listen, but it also reminds me that it's a JAM from a disco album we deserved, but never got from her. :'( #39 Throb It's a club-banger that just doesn't get old.

#38 Miss You Much 1989, Rhythm Nation 1814
A GET YA LIFE TYPE OF VIDEO. #iconic A major hit for Janet and its one of her biggest #1 songs on the Billboard Charts but the video was just iconic and inspiring. This song based on the video would have gone much higher but its one of those fun, pop songs that with the visual just turns into a epic song. There has been a few notable artists who were inspired by this song and used it or parts of it through their career, Britney Spears has referenced the chair routine numerous times, 50 cent references in one of his raps, Backstreet Boys and during her MTV Icon tribute, Pink, Usher and Mya performed this and lastly a remix of this was used by Madonna in ''Vogue". I just want people to realize what a impact this song has made.
It's a straight up, simple by the numbers pop song, while the song is good its unremarkable compared with most of her discography but the music video makes this more than it is. The technicality on display and groundbreaking routines were almost unheard of back then and paved the way for other entertainers. It's what we girls call a bop.
"I'll tell your mama I'll tell your friends I'll tell anyone whose heart can comprehend Send it in a letter baby Tell you on the phone I'm not the kinda girl certainlet Who likes to be alone I miss ya much (boy-oh-I miss you much)"

*HINT* Next song to come tonight at #38, is a cute, very bubbly song that was a top 5 hit on Billboard but was a little too bubbly and pop for me to finish higher on my chart.

Miss You Much has one of the most iconic dance routines we ever got from Janet. The hook is just E V E R Y T H I N G. It's my 2nd favorite single from RR1814.

Love "Miss You Much"!
I'm thinking the bubbly song is "Let's Wait Awhile".

#37 Runaway 1995, Design of a Decade: 1986-1996
I call this my bubbly pop feel good go to when I'm in that mood, however that is over simplifying it. This is just beyond a pop diddy, it combines African and Asian influences in its instrumentation and it has a distinct and strong hook, pretty clever if I say so. The way she coos over the beat and overall message is just so cute and gorgeous.
This song was actually kinda major for Janet as it made her the first female to debut in the top 10 of Billboard and overall peaked at #3. This time period for me in the mid 90's will always be my foundation of my musical experience along with this , there was so much great music out at that time. We were truly blessed and took it for granted!
Now it seems every other song on radio is by a new artist, someone who you never heard from before nor probably will hear again, come today, gone tomorrow.
Janet was one of my foundations, staples.
what did you guys think of the music video?

Kreesha Turner who is a Canadian only artist has a cute song called "I Could Stay" back in 2010 that straight up steals when she says " I could stay here with u" and sings it in a very Janet/Runaway style and BITCH NEVER gave credit, bye. I know I'm not the only one who heard it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cc6JGXXvLvs
