I believe Iggy would be the first woman to ever replace herself at #1 if Problem could get to #1. lol if Iggy becomes a 2 hit wonder, it would make the people at billboard seem like fools (which they are) for giving her so much attention and comparing her to bugs The Beatles. If you listen to the Pop Shop Podcast from that week, you'll hear that they went out of their way to not compare her to the Beatles. The chart feat was matched only by The Beatles, but Billboard recognizes that there's no comparison. |

Yeah but on the Hot 100 Happy is falling harder in overall points than DH and DH is the YTD #1 (since it had more weeks in 2914 than Happy) so if Happy doesn't gain enough points on DH then it won't be able to pass DH in the year-end chart. Surely Happy is selling much more than DH, but that's just one of three Hot 100 chart components.

Well, you never know, the music industry might be completely dead by 2914, so all Katy needs to do is have her great-great(x30)-great-grandchild buy, stream, YouTube, or (whatever format exists is by then) 1 copy of the song per week, and "Dark Horse" will be #1 forever.

Historically, the eventual year-end #1 has peaked or is peaking by this point in the year.
So it is valid to consider Happy vs DH for #1 at this point in the year.

My opinion on the Happy Dark Horse. Not convinced the race for #1 is so close that if Happy falls below Dark Horse on the daily radio update while both are on the decline that it will cause Dark Horse to take the lead.
Dark Horse may indeed be #1 for the year but it might also be #2 or lower. It is probably a Dark Horse candidate for winning but not a sure thing
Happy had 10 weeks at #1 and just missed 12 weeks. Either way, it is still top 5, 5 weeks removed from #1. Not disappearing quite so quickly

I'm just hoping that once they both decline enough to reach the point where they're both at like 70 or 80 million MediaBase AI and they somewhat stabilize and stop getting decrease updates more than 1 million at which point it will be kinda like the Royals/Wake Me Up situation where WMU took over and then on their way down Royals briefly rose back above it and then WMU returned to lead R. And I hope Happy stays destroying DH in sales as it is for the last few months.
