What country singers have you met? What were they like? Who would you say was the nicest/friendliest and the rudest? Who was more outgoing and who seemed more reserved/shy?
Unfortunately I haven't met any yet, but was curious on who has and what some of these people are really like behind the scenes.

I have met many over the past ten years, and not one has ever been rude. I followed Canadian country artists heavily back then, and met Michelle Wright, Crystal Shawanda, The Wilkinsons, Johnny Reid, and Terri Clark through festivals and fan clubs. They were incredibly warm, kind, genuine, and thankful. Michelle and Amanda were probably the most thankful and talkative, but the rest were very nice too. Terri Clark had more than one hundred fans to meet then, and she also had to go to the next city, so she had less time.
I have also met Reba McEntire, Lee Ann Womack, Shania Twain, and Kelly Clarkson. I have met Kelly four times now, and she has to be the best one. She was extremely relaxing, talkative, hilarious, natural, genuine, and the like. She can make anybody feel welcome. I met Shania through the Toronto signing when she released her book three years ago now. I told her, "It's so nice to meet you!" and she said "And you too! I just wish I could spend more time with you all." It sounded very genuine.
Lee Ann was super great, too. I had ran another website and tweeted Lee Ann's assistant, wondering whether I could possibly interview Lee Ann. I already had the meet-and-greet pass, and would only need four minutes from them. They said yes, and they took me to Lee Ann's room backstage. I don't want to brag but, I mean, how often can you say that?! On the way to the room and on the way out, she made small talk about where I drove from, whether I ever visited Nashville, and so on. Very, very nice lady.
I have been able to meet Reba twice over the past six years. She was very kind, but the process does feel more "business-like" with her. That said, she was never short nor rude. She has an extremely outgoing attitude, was genuine and thankful, etc. but you just spend less time with her than you want (though, really, would any amount of time ever be enough?). I don't mean to complain, because I know many have never been able to meet her. I would never trade those experiences, and I love her. I just wish they were less "business-y."

I've never had a bad experience, everyone that I've met has been nice....
Chuck Wicks Josh Thompson Rodney Atkins Thompson Square Chase Rice Sam Hunt Charlie Worsham Kip Moore Thomas Rhett Dan + Shay Love & Theft
Chuck Wicks, Charlie Worsham, and Thompson Square were the most outgoing, making jokes & talking to everyone around. Josh Thompson seemed a little reserved, but wasn't rude or anything.

I've met Carrie Underwood 3 times. Two of those were Meet & Greets I won through her Fan Club, and one of them was during her Blown Away Listening Party in Nashville that I was randomly selected to attend (also through her Fan Club).
The meet & greets are a little rushed, but there always a lot of fans selected for those so I guess that's the way it has to be, unfortunately. However, Carrie herself never makes you feel rushed and has been nothing but sweet and kind. Everything you'd expect her to be. The first time I met her I was really nervous, but I managed to make small talk and I think it went well.
My 2nd time meeting her was by far my best experience, which was the Blown Away Listening Party. There was about 30 of us at most, and we got to go to Starstruck Studios in Nashville and basically sit in front of Carrie while she played her album for us (before it was released), and talked to us about the album and what not. She had a table set up in the back of the room with food and beverages, and told us to make ourselves comfortable and help ourselves at any time, and to feel free if we had to get up and leave to use the bathroom, etc. We got a small tour of the studio and after we listened to the album, Carrie gave all of us a gift certificate to the Opry Backstage Grill and tickets to the Opry that night, which happened to be Keith Urban's induction. The best part was that at the end, we all got to line up and meet her and take a photo with her and get her autograph. This was a much more relaxed environment, so nothing was rushed and I had a nice small chat with Carrie. When I approached her as it was my turn, she reached out to hug me and said "Hi!" almost as if she recognized me (or maybe she was just genuinely happy to meet me lol).
I don't know if this counts as another time meeting her, but later that year I attended Carrie's VH1 Unplugged taping in NYC, and between songs she stared at me in the audience (there was a small audience of maybe 50 people in the studio and I was in the 2nd row maybe 20 feet from her) as if she recognized me. All of a sudden, she said "Hi" and I waved back to her as she told the crowd "I recognize some faces in the crowd" or something to that extent. It was so amazing to be acknowledged by her, and she truly does remember her fans.
Finally, my last time meeting her was a meet & greet during the Blown Away tour. It was a little rushed like the usual meet & greet, but Carrie remembered me and said it was nice to see me again. I wore a shirt I had made that said "Chicks Dig Dudes Who Listen to Carrie Underwood" and Carrie asked me about the shirt. During the show, I had floor seats and during the part of the show where Carrie is on the floating stage/platform above the audience, she pointed me out in the crowd, waved and winked at me while pinching her shirt as a way of acknowledging me. Everyone around me was so jealous and I felt really special lol. She really makes her fans feel appreciated.

The nicest country singer I've ever met was Mel McDaniel, hands down. I met him outside his bus after he performed a show a number of years ago. He was very gracious and a class act both on and off stage.

I've met Carrie Underwood once. She's a sweetheart, but you can tell she's a naturally shy person. At least that was my impression... She was very welcoming, and did her best to make "small talk" - as did I, but I could tell meeting new people is not her thing.

I've actually met and talked with Scotty McCreery several times, latest time being 2 weeks ago. He knows me by name and that's a cool thing. In person he is just like he on TV. A normal down to earth Carolina guy. He loves talking Sports and real Country music. He grew up loving the older artists. He wore a Waylon Jennings shirt at the show a couple weeks ago! Anyway my impression of him as always been great. His feet are firm on the ground and his whole family who I've always got to know a bit are every bit as great as he is.
I met Reba back when I was 15 backstage at one of her mega-arena 90's shows. She was very sweet. I actually haven't met any singer that I've had bad impressions of. I've also met Kellie Picker, Tanya Tucker, Wynonna, Leann Times, Jimmy Dickens, Pam Tillis, Mindy McCreedy (in 98), Trace Adkins, Toby Keith (at his restaurant in Vegas), Hunter Hayes (Very nice person!), and probably a few others I can't think of right now. I went to Fan Fair in 1998 and met quite a few!

I met The Kentucky Headhunters at a concert a few years ago. I had just e-mailed them asking if they would help me get a free picture of them for their Wikipedia article, and they agreed to send one to OTRS (the system to which you can donate an image for free use if you own its rights). They were playing near me a few days later, and they said I could come backstage with them after the show, so I did. I've had e-mail conversations with them a few times before, so they said they were glad to see me updating their Wikipedia article (it's now a "Good Article"). One of them, I think it was Richard, said "I don't know anything about that computer s**t." I also met quite a few artists when rsmatto let me work the booth at CMA Music Fest in 2010. Judging from my Flickr gallery, our booth had Thompson Square, Jerrod Niemann, O'Shea, Trent Tomlinson, Burns & Poe, Brady Seals, Marty Raybon, Veronica Ballestrini, James Wesley, Mishavonna, The Roys, Billy Yates, Mallary Hope, Ash Bowers, Carter's Chord, and Bryan White. I got to meet all but Bryan White in person (there was too much of a line around him). Most of them were very nice, but Brady seemed a bit distant even when I said that I was a big fan of Little Texas growing up, and that my sister and I both loved the Hot Apple Pie album. Trent was very laid-back and asked one of the other guys working our booth to buy him a beer.

I met Brantley Gilbert last year. He was standing next to me in line at the airport and I introduced myself and we chatted for several minutes. He was very nice and gracious.

Hunter Hayes: Sweetest guy I've ever met. He really goes the distance to make fans feel welcome and I can't say enough good things about this boy! (Good hugger, too.)
Love & Theft: These guys are really nice too. Eric was a little bit drunk, but he was still really patient with us. Stephen was really sweet! Hoping to meet them again in July.
Parmalee: Did a pretty long meet&greet/autograph session after their show. Pretty nice guys too.
Dan & Shay: They're a lot like Hunter! They're charismatic and energetic even in M&G.
Kip Moore: Security was rushing everyone through the line, so I didn't really get to talk, but he's a really nice genuine guy.

I've been fortunate enough to attend alot of concerts and met a lot of people. I can't remember ever a bad experience. here are some of mine - Met Jason Michael Carroll in 2006 at a county fair, before his debut album came out. Alyssa Lies was just picking up steam at radio. He was eating Reese's Pieces after the show, and I commented how they remind of the movie E.T. He thought that was pretty funny and we chatted for a few minutes. Really humble guy. - Had the pleasure of meeting Mel Tillis after a county fair one time. He was very funny and nice. I asked him what it was like to know/work with the greats like Waylon, Johnny, Willie, Merle etc. He said "those guys are my friends, and it meant so much to me". - Was at a bluegrass festival in Virginia one time where Rhonda Vincent was playing, about 10 years ago. I was in my beach chair towards the back of the place, out in the open. There was a bus parked on the road behind me, honestly looked like an RV. Well, wouldn't you know, Rhonda Vincent comes out holding her high heels and hiking up her dress (it had just rained). I held out my hand and helped her walk across the grass. She told me "Thanks, darlin enjoy the show" . She was very entertaining on stage, talked to the crowd alot - Had a NEAR hit with George Jones. Saw him at a county fair in 2005, i bought tickets for my parents and grandmother. THEY showed up early and were walking around, and George and Nancy were buying food at a concession!!! They were like 2 people behind them. Lucky me was running late and missed that opportunity. I showed up 15 minutes later and my parents were ecstatic about being that close to a legend. - I saw George Jones again a few years later, and this time Nancy was behind me at a concession getting a bottle of water. No one knew who she was, but I recognized her and said Hi. She was very kind.

• I met Carrie Underwood last year in March at the Blown Away Tour. We chatted for a solid 3 minutes (which is pretty extensive for a meet-and-greet), she gave me two hugs, and I didn't even pass out. • I met Bo Bice at the 2010 CMA Fest because his line was short and I didn't need a ticket to meet him. He was super nice (and short), he gave me his autograph (pre-signed), and I told him I voted for him on Idol (I didn't). Really genuine guy! • I met Cassadee Pope at the 2013 CMA Fest. We talked about tattoos. Really sweet girl, and really, really tiny.

Living in Nashville , I've had several opportunities to meet country celebrities . But I'm super paranoid of finding out artists I look up to are butt-holes so I very rarely approach anyone as I can be a a little stand offish with strangers. And the majority of the ones I did were either upcoming acts or no hit hit wonders , who I figure would be less "bothered" by being noticed. Most of you probably won't even notice most of the names.
Becky Hobbs : three times and at really odd places. I was starting to worry she may think I was stalking her. Joy Lynn White: Really sweet , and gave me a signed CD. Tony Toliver: I think he was more excited to meet someone that had actually bought his record. Super talented guy Brothers Phelps: I met them at Fan Fair ...was quick but they were nice enough Great Plaines: I met them at Fan Fair ...only cause they had a super short line. Dawn Sears: She did some harmony vocals on a low budget album recorded at my dads studio Trent Tomlinsen: I met Trent at Pawn shop. I wasn't gonna approach him til he caught me looking at him like 4 times & I felt like a weirdo. He was super cool and even gave me a copy of an upcoming album that never came out. He wouldn't even let me pay him. Marty Brown: He and his band rehearsed at my dads studio, and after wards he went out drinking with us. Carl Perkins: I "met" Carl at an industry block party/show on music row. And by met I mean I stood there slack jawed and couldn't even speak, while he shook my hand and moved on. Larry Boone: Much like Trent , Larry caught me looking at him an uncomfortable amount of times in the concession stand at the movies. Really nice guy Carlene Carter: I met Carlene at the height of her fame at outdoor Marty Stuart concert on Lower Broadway.

I've only met a handful, but both James Wesley and Keith Anderson were two of the nicest and most down to earth individuals I've ever met period.
Keith was really big boned, as it was really obvious he was a former body builder and athlete. We just chatted about food and sports, we didn't even really talk about music. The only time we talked about music is when I said that I think his new single "I Still Miss You" would go top 5 for him, and he said thanks man, I sure hop you're right. I take full credit for that. ;)
James was great. He didn't even seem like the kind of person that was a professional singer. More like the guy that stops to help you with your flat tire on the thruway. To this day I've rooted for him a little more than most other artists because of what a classy and genuinely nice person he was.

Met many but the one that stands out is Walker Hayes. May not have had a ton of radio success and was dropped from the label but the thing that struck me most was his talking about how awesome his wife and at the time two kids he had were (third was on the way---think they are up to 5 now). In a business where you don't see a lot of the "family" I do believe his love of his wife and family contributed to him not having a ton of success.
What an awesome guy though.

I met Adam Gregory during his only US tour in 2009. What a great guy. He used to write a lot with Lee Brice. It's a shame Lee made it but Adam didn't, in the US anyway. I don't think he is even active in Canada anymore. Last I heard he got married and started a family.

I've met several artists over the years. Never once was there a bad experience. The first country star I met was Chuck Wicks in 2008 when he opened for Brad Paisley. Since then I've met Lee Ann Womack, The Judds, Terri Clark, Lady Antebellum, Easton Corbin, Emerson Drive, Diamond Rio, and a few others. Though not a singer, I did meet Melissa Peterman from Reba at CMA Fest in 2010. She had us take a prom picture and a picture of us making silly faces. Definitely the best experience I've had.

Um, well, I've met Dierks a few (14) times... I can honestly say that I was a fan of his since I saw him in 2004 opening for George Strait, but I was not the fan I am today until I met him in 2008. He is so gracious, so kind, and I really appreciate how in the moment he is during his meet & greets. He really takes time for everybody, talks, and listens. At my last m&g a few weeks ago, he greeted me with a hug, signed my poster made out to my twitter name (I was like "um, you know that?" and he was like, "of course I know my peeps"), and then said "please thank all "the girls" from the fan club for being in the front row on opening night of the tour. It meant so much to me to see you all out there." All of that was unsolicited. Prior to the one-on-one m&g, he'd done two songs acoustic, and mentioned the DOAP video (it was the weekend before its debut) and said "well, some of us saw it last night" and pointed at me. So he KNOWS his fans and he CARES and it's made a lasting impression. My first m&g was the same way, and 13 meetings later... he's pretty wonderful. What you see is what you get. I Hold On is HIM.
I've also met Easton Corbin 3 times, and he is a total sweetheart with an accent that will make anybody melt.
I met James Young and Chris Thompson from Eli Young Band and they were totally awesome and took some fun pics with my friends and I (and the following night Chris pointed to us when Mike Eli said "are there any Crazy Girls out there tonight?" Ha.)
And I've met Will Hoge who is one of the nicest, honest, down to earth guys you will ever meet. I think I've met him 5 times now. He's wonderful. I really can't say enough about him.

Rascal Flatts: On the Kenny Chesney tour (2004?). Gary was a bit stand offish and uninterested. He seemed bothered that I was a little flustered. Jay and Joe Don were sweet as can be and very patient with me. Joe Don hugged me really close during the picture and rubbed my back when I was talking to them. Before I walked out he gave me an extra hug and Jay gave me one and told me to have great show. Gary couldn't be bothered with that - saying anything or offering a hug like the other two did.
Sara Evans: She was nine months pregnant with Audrey in 2004. It was one of the last shows she did before maternity leave. She was running late due to Olivia having a dirty diaper and making a mess of it and her bunk. I know this because she mentioned it when she apologize for the fact she was 15 minutes late. It was a bit rushed due to her being late and the show needing to start on time - it was a fair show. She was sweet and patient in those few short minutes. I gave her a gift and she opened it - it was two handmade beaded bracelets, one was made in her favorite color and the other in the colors of her children and her birthstones. She thanked me and said she loved them and knew Kaelin (her assistant/stylist/sister in law) would probably steal them for herself. My mom was with me for the meet and greet, she came after me and Sara was like "Wait, are you related? Sisters maybe?" When my mom told her that she was my mom Sara joked she hoped she looked as young as my mom did when her daughters were my age.
Billy Currington: Extremely sweet. This was during his debut album era - prior to Party for Two. He did an acoustic radio show and I won two passes in. He seemed blown away by the fact I knew all the words to his songs because no one else seemed to. He brought it up when it was my turn to meet him. Besides that he seemed surprised I got his set list from the stage.
Little Big Town: I met them in November 2005 on the first show they opened for Keith Urban. It was one of those come meet us after the set type of situation so no pictures were taken. Just signing items at a table. Their street team officially had started up and I had a laminate from it for them to sign. Karen freaked out over it and kept telling the others loudly about it. Mainly because it was a fan run street team and I was the first they'd seem with it. When I told them I'd been a fan since Don't Waste My Time they were blown away. They thanked me repeatedly as they signed my items as well as my mom's and little brothers. I got more chat time with Kimberly, Phillip and Karen than Jimi because he was first at the table. Karen wouldn't really let me move because she was freaking out. They were honestly some of the sweetest people I met in my life. Kimberly "flirted" with my little brother and kept telling him how cute he was. During that Phillip asked if he had a girlfriend because Kimberly could be his. He was only 8 mind you, completely small for his age. But it was cute and sweet. I should say too, Karen made it a point to mention me to others after I left. I remember going on the messageboard they had and people mentioning she kept bringing me up by name because of the street team laminate. I wish I could meet them again.
Gloriana: Fearless Tour. Cheyenne was sick so it was just Rachel, Mike and Tom. Rachel seemed so disconnected from everything. I assume because illness was working it's way through the band and they had been going nonstop. She barely said anything and signed my stuff before sliding it over to the boys. Mike and Tom though were really nice. They made an effort to have a conversation - asking how I was, did I enjoy the show, etc. I had them sign a birthday card for my little brother. They asked about him - how old, was he there and everything. Then told me to tell him happy birthday and to have a great rest of the night.
There are a few smaller acts I'd gladly share if anyone wanted to hear them - Jimmy Wayne, Jessica Andrews, Joe Nichols, Warren Brothers and Shooter Jennings.

The first country artist I got to meet was Aaron Tippin at a county fair in Nebraska. I was with a friend of mine who has cerebral palsy and in a wheelchair...she loves country music just as much as me although she isn't quite a George fan (but that's ok haha). Anyways, Aaron must have seen her during the show and at the end of the concert one of his managers came up to us saying Aaron requested us to come backstage. We got to do a little meet & greet and it just made her night. He is truly a class act.
The only other time I got to meet any other artists was during a "Tribute to Heroes" event in Fort Hood back in 2004. I got to meet Jeff Bates and Tracy Byrd during a regular cd signing promo event and both were kind and courteous (especially Jeff). I also got to attend another meet & greet/cd signing with Randy Travis and John Michael Montgomery. I had a lot of cd covers for Randy to sign and he was quite accommodating; JMM was nice but very shy and quiet. At that same event I also got to observe Randy's then wife Lib Hatcher for quite some time, and all I can say is cold. She just doesn't come across as someone I would want to cross.
Of all the times I've seen George in concert I've never met him, although I've had the pleasure of meeting some of his band members who have always been super nice (Rick McCrae and most recently Terry Hale who seemed surprised I recognized him out of nowhere when we walked by each other). I've only had one close encounter with George while being escorted backstage to exit (again with my same friend from the Aaron Tippin concert) at his Kansas City show in 1996. We couldn't get the wheelchair back up the steps so they graciously and very cautiously escorted us backstage. All of a sudden I remember walking by a room where a lot of people were gathered and sure enough I saw George with his crew and Terri Clark. My mom walks by, stops dead in her tracks and says, "OMG, that's George!" Unfortunately we never got to meet him :/. And every time I've attempted to try and get close to the stage it just never worked out in my favor...this one guy in Vegas yelled at me because he thought I was going to spill something on his wife (they were sitting the entire show in the 5th row and just seemed annoyed with everyone trying to get close...it's George!). Anyways, I don't even know what I'd say to him if I met him.

And I met Greg Bates, too. :) And Jon Pardi. They were both pretty quiet, but nice.

I've met Carrie Underwood twice, Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, Kacey Musgraves, and Kellie Pickler. I haven't met any artists from other genres, but I feel pretty confident in saying that country artists have got to be the nicest bunch of people out there. I've yet to have a bad experience.
Both Carrie and Kacey were a little shy, but both absolute sweethearts, and even tinier (and prettier) in person than I thought they would be. As gorgeous as these two are in photos, the camera doesn't do them justice.
Lady A were all awesome (and giants - seriously, I might as well not have bothered wearing heels, because it didn't make a difference. I'm 5'2", so I looked tiny next to them).
Kellie was so sweet and kind, that one was a bit rushed because there were a lot of people there (it was during CMA Fest week in 2012), but she gave me a hug and was adorable.
Meeting The Band Perry was a lot of fun because it was right around the time "If I Die Young" was taking off, so they were becoming more popular but they hadn't blown up yet. They were playing this little country club here in town, and it just so happened to be the night they got nominated for their first Grammy, so it was great to be able to congratulate them in person.
I also met Miranda Lambert's mom once, if that counts. She was just wandering around Miranda's fan club party in 2012 saying hello to everyone and taking pictures. Such a sweetheart. Miranda was supposed to do m&gs that day, but she was sick so she didn't. We were told we'd all automatically get a m&g for a show of our choice any time over the next year, but unfortunately I never got to use mine as Miranda didn't come anywhere near my area during that year.

Ty Herndon (4-5 times) The Kinleys (4-5 times....they started to know me by name after the 3rd time) Allison Moorer 3 times Lady Antebellum 2 times Sugarland (when they were a trio and I got my pic taken with Jennifer and her and Kristian signed Twice the Speed of Life) Sara Evans Regina Regina Shelly Fairchild Chris Cagle Mila Mason (the most BEAUTIFUL handwriting I've ever seen) Rissi Palmer Trisha Yearwood (interesting story that goes with that one)
That's all I can think of for now....I'd have to dig around and find all of my signed CD's to find the ones that I'm missing.

I met Aaron Tippin recently. I asked if I could get a picture of just him (so I could use it on Wikipedia), and he said "naw, I want to get it with you." Otherwise he was very friendly for the 45 seconds or so. Should've told him that he inspired my username, but I forgot.
His opening act was Morgan Frazier, and she was incredibly sweet too. In fact, he closed his show with "Kiss This" and she came out to do the female vocals on it. She also did "Dirt Road Anthem" as part of a string of covers in her set and absolutely nailed it. I hope Morgan goes somewhere...

Hopefully she has another single out soon.
