I went and saw both the matinee and evening Chicago performances yesterday, and met Jennifer Nettles following the evening performance. She was absolutely incredible, gracious, and outgoing. She willingly chatted, signed, and took photos with everyone. The person before mentioned how they only came into New York here for the day and, when they were done and walking away, she yelled out "Safe trip home!" I went next and said that I saw both the matinee and evening performances and asked for her autograph, and she went "Of course! What's your name?" When I said my name, she went "Oh, I saw on Twitter you were coming!" because I had tweeted her earlier that day. What? I died. I also brought one of her Jennifer Nettles Band albums and asked whether she would sign that, because I know some performers only sign Playbills and not unrelated memorabilia. She said "Absolutely! Your name again?" and signed the album. She saw my camera and we took our picture, then I totally forgot she had taken my marker and she handed that back. I thanked her and said, for the millionth time, that she was incredible, and I went on my way. There were about thirty others waiting, and I know she was just as nice to everyone who had gathered. Meeting her was amazing, fantastic, incredible, wonderful, perfect, everything. Let me say that I'm glad you had a great time. I think I can safely say that everyone in the Country Forum is jealous of you for meeting Jennifer Nettles. Glad to hear she's down to earth. Now, if she can only get a solo hit at country radio.

Brandy Clark (June 2016), she was nice but her manager wasn't. When you have an all ages show, you don't tell people, you can't get a picture with the artist. That is what this manager did. I was in the front of the line, so maybe something changed afterwards, but I can't imagine trying to explain to a child that may never see that artist again, you can't get a picture with that artist.
Most of the ones I have met are independent artists that are not signed.

I met John Moreland after he played a free show at a local park this past summer. He seemed like a really relaxed and awesome guy to be around. He signed my poster and many others' records and posters as well. It was great to chat with him about his amazing songwriting for a few minutes. It was obvious he cares about his dedicated fans.

I got to interview LoCash right around the time "I Love This Life" was peaking. Really laid-back, friendly, funny guys. They were really impressed with how well I conducted an interview considering I had only ever done it once before. I took the picture that's on their Wikipedia article right after the interview.
My only other interview to date was Razzy Bailey, done at CMA Music Fest 2010. (Sadly, neither interview got posted, but I've saved both.)
I've also met some other old 70s and 80s artists who've performed locally in my part of Michigan over the years, including Dickey Lee, T. Graham Brown, Sylvia, and Billy Joe Royal. Royal was probably the most impromptu of the bunch. My mom picked me up after work and said "Do you want to see Billy Joe Royal?" I said sure even though I knew only two of his songs. He was doing a concert at a local high school, and I'm glad I went, because he died only a couple months later.

Figured we dust off this thread lol.
I've met quite a few artists over the past year.
Scotty McCreery David Lee Murphy Carly Pearce Michael Ray Tyler Rich Adam Hambrick Stephanie Quayle Rodney Atkins Maddie & Tae Mitchell Tenpenny
Wasn't impressed by Rodney or his crew. Pretty off-putting tbh. Quayle was amazing, loved her personality. David Lee Murphy was fantastic too, great story-teller.
I didn't know what to expect from Tyler Rich but I was pretty blown away. Super guy. He talked with anyone and everyone. He came to an after party and he was in the middle of the crowd at the bar. Fans didn't even know it was the same guy that was on stage an hour prior, they thought he was just another regular Joe who was having fun lol. Even sang karaoke.

I'm not a fan of his social media antics, but is he at least somewhat nice in person?

I wouldn't say he went above and beyond but he was pretty nice. His social media spat with Wheeler Walker Jr. is still fresh in the mind lol but he was nice in person.

Hmmmm since I last posted I think I've only met Maddie and Tae (twice, and the second time, they recognized me from the Dierks tour), Tucker Beatherd, and Brandy Clark. Oh and Dierks again. Hee.

One of my favorite guys was Ty Herndon. This was before a lot of his problems went mainstream back in maybe 1996-97 and he was a sweet as could be. We were just fans backstage and no joke he talked to us for about 15 minutes about our lives and challenges we were facing as college kids. Pretty cool moment and we left really surprised that he seemed to care.
I've also met George Strait several times in the supermarket on the west side of San Antonio and got to golf 18 holes with him due to a co-worker being friends with Bubba. George is down to earth and is really the "aww shucks" southern guy instead of the pompous millionaire you'd probably expect. I have no idea what I shot that day, but it was the most fun round I ever had :) Bubba was actually extremely fun and made me feel comfortable.

Met Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd in Minneapolis the weekend of the Super Bowl last year. My girlfriend won a Meet & Greet with Maren through Bose at a club downtown, so it was only us and maybe 15 or so other people that got to meet Maren before she performed a private concert at this venue that was only open to NFL personnel. Maren was so sweet and kind, signed autographs and took pictures. Ryan was absolutely awesome. He was just in the crowd of Maren's private concert and my girlfriend spotted him. My girlfriend asked him for a photo, they took it on her Polaroid, then she realized she forgot a Sharpie for him to sign it. So Ryan told her he'd be right back... Ryan walked through the bar to find a marker, came back, found my girlfriend and autographed the picture. Plus, he was wearing an awesome Waylon Jennings t-shirt which I told him was quite awesome. Two of the sweetest people ever.

I met Maddie and Tae last year (they were on the side stage as part of the Lady A show), and complimented my shirt which was a Lady A one.

Now that I have met some at CMA fest, I can add to this now!
Randy Travis: You could tell he was exhausted. Couldnât say a whole lot but did nod and sounded like thanks when I told him it was an honor to meet him. He was frail and it was said to see him like that tbh. But at least he is still with us. Could only shake hands with his left hand.
Cale Dodds: Super nice guy. Introduced himself and asked my name. He was smaller than I pictured him (although he was still taller than me).
Matt Stell: Very down to earth. He is somebody you would want to have a beer with. I felt like it was talking to an old friend. Canât wait to see his career take off. Very tall too.
Travis Denning: Another nice guy (sense a theme here?). Very humble and personable.
Riley Green: They had us kinda rushing through the line so that everybody could meet him but those were still some awesome 15 or so seconds. Talked to me like an old friend and told me he appreciated me coming to meet him. Told him I loved his music and he really seemed genuinely appreciative.
