I have the Lost Trailers version of Chicken Fried somewhere, but I don't know how I got it. Probably some random audio sharing site.

Montgomery Gentry: Die Just Fine ^ I actually got this song on my old iPod but I don't think I ever listened to it after I downloaded it. It is on iTunes though. Hometown News' "Minivan" and "Wheels" are two songs I have somewhere along with their debut album but can't locate it. I've moved a couple times so perhaps its gone. This song is not on iTunes or YouTube.

Like Phil said, Eric Church- Come Together. I jumped through a lot of hoops to obtain the vinyl version of "The Outsiders" so i treasure that song.
Aside from that i have a James Wesley song called "Shake It Off" from an old compilation CD thats really good. Of course all of James singles are rare favorites.
I also have Randy Montana's debut album which i think is rare

Another one I've been looking for is "Singing To The Scarecrow" by Kristin Garner. A great Dennis Linde song. It actually got to #53 on R&R in late 2001.

I have the Hometown News album somewhere. It came out right before VFR closed, didn't it? (Coincidentally, "Minivan" cued up on iTunes as I was posting this!)
Another VFR release I have is Trent Summar's excellent cover of "It Never Rains in Southern California". I think this actually came out before Mark McGuinn.
I also have a single from an early 90s Curb artist named Keith Perry who did a great rendition of David Allan Coe's "I'm Gonna Hurt Her on the Radio". Hard to believe there was a time when Curb would let you put out an album if your lead single didn't even chart…
Another rare single I have is Rodney Atkins' "In a Heartbeat". Admittedly, I ripped it from YouTube, but that seems to be the only way to get it. It's amazing how different Rodney has managed to sound over the years. I once had a 1997 issue of Country America that showed him with a cowboy hat and mustache, and I just about fell on the floor laughing when I saw him like that. Can't find the issue now, though.
I also have T. Graham Brown's debut single "Drowning in Memories", which was never put on a studio album. A few years ago, he got the rights to all of his old Capitol Records masters, and put the original recordings of all of his singles, including that one, on an independent album which I own.

^ The image was one that the magazine itself took of him, but that's how he looked overall. I think he was wearing a blue shirt in the magazine's image though.

I have Hometown News album, I think it's an advance copy. Also have the Sumnar and Atkins singles. I have Perry's album and saw him on a free stage at the Minnesota State Fair maybe the year after it came out. I know he put out at least one inspirational album at some point after that too.

I've acquired alot of rare albums/songs over the years after searching feverishly. I wish I had some of the albums listed above, one's that didnt get released by the label etc. Below are some good albums/songs I have come across
- Alan Jackson "New Traditional" album from 1987: Bought it on Ebay for $25. Alan tries singing with a deeper voice here. I read in an interview somewhere where Keith Stegall told him to "stop trying to sound like Merle Haggard". After that, the Alan we now know came out. Album was nothing special really, not great writing. - Brad Paisley "Ode de Toilet" song. Itunes only on the Icon album. Pretty funny song, while traditional sounding. - A bunch of Brooks & Dunn bonus songs : "Cowboy, Cowboy", "Gotta Get Me One Of Those", and "Walk Away Slow" (from Cowboy Town album), and "Sunday Money" a good Dale Earnhardt tribute song from a NASCAR soundtrack from mid-90s - Chris Young "I Wish I Was Lyin" , from his debut album - Dierks Bentley "Don't Leave me In Love" album from 2001. Small label, found it in record store in Nashville a few years back. Actually really good. It's very stripped down, and the songwriting is great. Very deep songs, similar to Riser. - Easton Corbin songs "A Better Man" and "I'm Not A Highway" , demo's from this first album. Also a song called "Miracles Happen" - Some rare Eric Church songs ; "There Are Those", "Woke Up This Morning", "Lovin' Me Anyway" - The Garrett Hedlund songs from the Country Strong soundtrack are great. - Jake Owen song called "Kiss You Good Morning" from Easy Does It sessions. - Jamey Johnson "They Call Me Country" album, self-produced. Again, found on ebay for $12! - Joe Diffie song called "What About Denver", from Twice Upon A Time album bonus track - Joe Nichols song "When I'm Hurtin", Best Buy bonus track from Real Things album. Fantastic song - "Too Country" song from Josh Thompson, demo - Josh Turner demo from first album era "To Be Loved By You" - "Dress Down" and "Country Boy" outtakes from Justin moore first album - I found Kacey Musgraves first album online somewhere, can't find it. It was all western-type Cowboy songs - Some amazing Keith Whitley lost songs. "High Steel and Memories" is eery, "It Sure Is Drunk Out Tonight", " I Did Everything Hank Did But Die", "A Little Unfair", "Miss You Like I Do" and "Just One Drink Away" - "5 o clock Angel" and "Chevrolet" demos from Luke Bryan. Sound like his debut album - I have Miranda Lambert self-titled album from like 2001. A lot of Texas sassy there, country-girl type songs. - Randy Montana album is good. - I have some rare B-sides from Travis Tritt and Randy Travis, sent out with early singles but never made albums. Really good songs

and "Sunday Money" a good Dale Earnhardt tribute song from a NASCAR soundtrack from mid-90s They actually sang it at an awards banquet and put it out on promotional discs at Mobil stations in the late 1990s. The version I have is one of the Mobil promotional discs that hasn't even been opened!

The version I have is one of the Mobil promotional discs that hasn't even been opened! Believe it or not, I think the first time I got Sunday Money was from a little known music server named Napster! LOL. I remember searching Napster and finding all these unreleased songs, it was great. I had mixed CDs out the ying-yang full of rare, hard to find songs. There was something that came after Napster that was short lived that was also good for unreleased songs, but I can't remember the name of it. Kazaam maybe?? Anyone remember? Even though I know pirating music is bad, I still buy plenty of music. If I stream an album on Spotify and like it, I will go right to Itunes and download it. Still spend hundreds of dollars a year on music LOL

The Jenkins - Getaway Car and Caitlin & Will - Address In The Stars would definitely fit here for me.

Wasn't Caitlin & Will's EP digital only? I downloaded Born Again because I couldn't find who wrote it anywhere (smart move). I still think it's weird how they came and went so fast.
Also, I have a slight preference for 4 Runner's version of Getaway Car, but the Jenkins' version is great too.

Speaking of "rare" songs - Someone was kind enough to finally put Carolina Rain's "I Ain't Scared" on YouTube last week. So I have it in the Random Video thread. :) That's now just three of their songs that you can find on YouTube ("Get Outta My Way", "Isn't She", "I Ain't Scared"). Unfortunately their music has been off iTunes for a while. I luckily bought the album the day it came out in 2006. I also own "Louisiana Love", "Let's Get It On", "American Radio" and "Weight Of The World".

I thought they released it when digital was not the go to, but I could be wrong.

This isn't a favorite of mine and this might not be the thread for this, but i remember in 2011 when i saw Chuck Wicks, he announced "now i'm gonna play you my new song" he said it was called "Shes The Whole Damn Thing". It was a slow song. Anyway it never saw radio or really anything

There is a live version off her It's Time album from 6 years ago on iTunes but no studio version. :(

Dierks has done some great songs in concert that he hasn't put out on record. Wish I remembered the names...

I agree, I love the song he does on his Live and Loud At The Filmore DVD called "Where The Wind Don't Blow". I wish he would put that along with his cover of Waylon's "Ain't Living Long Like This" on a CD. :)

- I have some rare B-sides from Travis Tritt and Randy Travis, sent out with early singles but never made albums. Really good songs Just curious what Tritt songs do you have? The only one I can recall & own is "All I'll Ever Be" which was a great song and the B-side to either "Help Me Hold On" or " Country Club"...

I definately know All I'll Ever Be, good song actually. Kind of surprised it was not on his debut album. I think I only have 2 or 3 more, probably compilation songs from a long-forgotten soundtrack or TV movie. I'll let you know

I was able to get some Reba demos and songs recorded never made it to an album. The demos sound rough not polished up. Others are polished but never made it to an album. I UPLOADED the files online for anyone to listen. "After You" DEMO LISTEN"I'm not Your Plaything" DEMO LISTEN"Take A Chance On Me" (ABBA Cover) LISTEN"Prove Me Wrong" LISTEN "Head Held High" LISTEN"That's Love To Me" (outstanding vocals should've been put on an album. Classic Reba ballad) LISTEN"You're Never Gonna Leave Him" LISTEN

I got a couple treasures on a Maxwell House sampler called The Taste of Country that I found at a now closed thrift shop in Alpena. It had "What You Don't Know" by Jon Randall (as I mentioned upthread, I also have the single of "She Don't Believe in Fairy Tales") and "Remember When" by Ray Vega, the latter of which was never put on an album.
I should've bought the CD single of "Comin' Around" when I saw Josh Thompson live a couple years back, because it had a B-side called "Rust" that not even Google has heard of.
