Over on the Digital Songs chart, we have a new No. 1, as Magic's "Rude" bumps Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" (featuring Charli XCX) from the top slot. "Rude" sold 210,000 downloads (up 1 percent), while "Fancy," which falls to No. 2, shifted 195,000 (down 14 percent).

Ariana Grande's "Problem," featuring Azalea, holds at No. 3 with 162,000 (down 13%). Smith's "Stay With Me" is also a non-mover at No. 4 with 148,000 (down 10 percent), and Nico & Vinz's "Am I Wrong" is stationary at No. 5 with 140,000 (down 3 percent).

Maroon 5's "Maps" finds its way to a No. 6 debut with 138,000. It's the first single from the group's upcoming album, "V," which will be released Sept. 2. The group's last album, "Overexposed," was ushered in by the single "Payphone," which sold 493,000 downloads in its first week and debuted at No. 1 on Digital Songs.

Right behind Maroon 5 is another debut, from 5 Seconds of Summer, as their "Kiss Me Kiss Me" enters at No. 7. It's the latest in a string of preview tracks from the band's upcoming full-length self-titled debut. It previously released "She Looks So Perfect" (No. 14 peak), "Don't Stop" (No. 9) and "Good Girls" (No. 8).

Jason Derulo's "Wiggle," featuring Snoop Dogg, falls 6-8 with 128,000 (down 9 percent), and DJ Snake & Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What" erodes 8-9 with 98,000 (down 16 percent). Charli XCX's "Boom Clap" closes out the top 10, as it drops 9-10 with 97,000 (down 16 percent).

Digital track sales this past week totaled 21 million downloads, down 3 percent compared with last week (21.5 million) and down 21 percent stacked next to the comparable week of 2013 (26.5 million). Year-to-date track sales are at 572.1 million, down 13 percent compared with the same total at this point last year (657 million).

No kidding - I forgot it sold nearly 500K and still only peaked at #2 on H100. Part of it was that it was the "follow-up" to MLJ. I think the hold back here may be that Maps is merely a derivative of the past five singles - it's completely in the same vein - nothing groundbreaking.

Iggy Azalea Leads Hot 100 For Fifth Week, Maroon 5 Debuts In Top 20

The Australian rapper reigns again with 'Fancy,' while staying at No. 2 as featured on Ariana Grande's 'Problem.' Plus, MAGIC!'s 'Rude' rules Digital Songs and Maroon 5 debuts.

Iggy Azalea notches a fifth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX, and holds at No. 2 as a featured act on Ariana Grande's "Problem." Meanwhile, MAGIC! tops Digital Songs with "Rude," which stays at No. 3 on the Hot 100, and Maroon 5 makes its way to the Hot 100, as "Maps" debuts at No. 14.

As we do each Wednesday, let's look at the numbers behind the Hot 100's top 10 and more.

Azalea continues her record-tying run in the Hot 100's top two spots, as, for a fifth week, "Fancy" and "Problem" rank at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. How rare is it for Azalea to have logged five weeks at Nos. 1 and 2 simultaneously? For one, she ties Ashanti for the longest such run by a woman; Ashanti locked up Nos. 1 and 2 from April 20 through May 18, 2002, with her own "Foolish" and as a guest on Fat Joe's "What's Luv?" (Only one other woman has doubled up at Nos. 1 and 2 in the same week: Mariah Carey, with "We Belong Together" and "Shake It Off" on Sept. 10, 2005.)

Azalea also matches Pharrell Williams, who tallied a five-week stranglehold on the top two last year as featured on Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" (with T.I.) and Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," and T.I. ("Whatever You Like," "Live Your Life," featuring Rihanna) in 2008 for the longest duopoly at Nos. 1 and 2 since OutKast held the ranks for eight straight weeks in 2003-04 with "Hey Ya!" and "The Way You Move" (featuring Sleepy Brown). The only other acts to have strung together at least five weeks at Nos. 1 and 2 at the same time are the Bee Gees (five, 1978) and the Beatles, who hold the record with 10 in a row in 1964.

"Fancy" continues its Hot 100 domination with a second week at No. 1 on Radio Songs, growing by 3 percent to 150 million in all-format audience, according to Nielsen BDS. It logs a sixth week at No. 1 on Streaming Songs, down by 5 percent to 11.6 million U.S. streams, according to BDS. On Digital Songs, "Fancy" drops 1-2 after four weeks on top (195,000 downloads sold, down 14 percent, in the tracking week ending on June 22, according to Nielsen SoundScan).

"Fancy" again fights off "Problem" for the Hot 100's top rank, with the latter also gaining at radio but slipping in sales and streaming. "Problem" pushes 3-2 on Radio Songs, up by 12 percent to 142 million. It holds at its No. 2 peak on Streaming Songs (9.4 million, down 11 percent) and No. 3 on Digital Songs (162,000, down 13 percent), which it led for three frames.

With "Fancy" and "Problem" down by 6 and 5 percent, respectively, in overall Hot 100 points, the former claims 16 percent more points than the latter, a margin in line with the difference between the two titles the past three weeks.

"Fancy" leads the sales/airplay/streaming-based Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts for a fifth and 10th week, respectively. It tops the Songs of the Summer ranking for a fourth week, remaining the only song that has held the No. 1 spot since the summer-y summary returned after Memorial Day.

Below "Fancy" and "Problem," Canadian pop/reggae quartet MAGIC! bullets for a second week at its No. 3 Hot 100 highpoint with its debut hit "Rude," which takes over atop Digital Songs (2-1), gaining by 1 percent to 210,000. Quick quiz: Of the 163 prior Digital Songs No. 1s since the chart began contributing to the Hot 100 the week of Feb. 12, 2005, only one previous leader was also a reggae song. Can you name it? Answer at the end of this story.

"Rude" also rises in streaming and airplay. It roars 9-4 on Streaming Songs, up by 15 percent to 6.8 million, and 8-5 on Radio Songs (108 million, up 22 percent). With the song up by 10 percent in overall Hot 100 points, it could threaten to break up the "Fancy"/"Problem" logjam in the top two perhaps as soon as next week.

Two songs enter the Hot 100's top five, led by Norwegian pop duo Nico & Vinz, whose "Am I Wrong" jumps 7-4 (after reaching No. 6 three weeks ago) with top Airplay Gainer honors. The pair's debut hit climbs 5-3 on Radio Songs (125 million, up 23 percent). It holds at No. 5 on Digital Songs (140,000, down 3 percent), after rising to No. 3 three weeks ago, and rebounds 15-12 (a new peak) on Streaming Songs with a 3 percent advance to 4.4 million.

As he debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with his debut full-length album "In the Lonely Hour," Sam Smith soars 10-5 on the Hot 100 with "Stay With Me." The U.K. pop singer/songwriter's ballad keeps at No. 4 on Digital Songs (148,000, down 10 percent), reaches the Radio Songs top 10 (14-9; 79 million, up 19 percent) and bounds 33-20 on Streaming Songs (2.8 million, up 26 percent). (The song's sales slide is owed to iTunes customers who opted to "complete" their purchase of Smith's album by upgrading their earlier purchases of "Stay" to the entire album. Effectively, consumers who completed the set were returning the song, thus translating to its sales chart slip. For the purposes of the Hot 100, however, aggregate sales contribute to the song's overall point total.)

"Stay" is fast becoming a multi-format radio hit, crowning Adult Alternative Songs (2-1) and jumping 10-8 on Adult Pop Songs, 15-14 on Pop Songs, 21-15 on Adult Contemporary and 21-20 on Adult R&B Songs, while debuting at No. 35 on Rhythmic Songs.

Smith concurrently climbs 14-12 with his third top 20 Hot 100 hit, Disclosure's "Latch," on which he's featured. (In his first visit, as featured on Naughty Boy's "La La La," he reached No. 19.)

Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10, Jason Derulo's "Wiggle," featuring Snoop Dogg, retreats to No. 6 from its No. 5 highpoint; John Legend's former three-week No. 1 "All of Me" drops 4-7; Calvin Harris' "Summer" ascends to a new peak (9-8) and dethrones DJ Snake and Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What" (6-9) on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, which the latter had led for 12 weeks; and Pharrell Williams' former 10-week Hot 100 No. 1 "Happy" falls 8-10.

Just outside the Hot 100's top 10, Maroon 5 makes its way to a lofty No. 14 debut with "Maps" (marking the highest start by a group this year). It enters Digital Songs at No. 6 with 138,000 first-week downloads sold and Radio Songs at No. 32 with 40 million impressions in its first full-week of availability, while adding 1.3 million opening-week streams. "Maps" made instant waves on Twitter following its release on June 16, when it propelled to No. 1 on Billboard's Trending 140 real-time chart; it led again the following day. The song enters at No. 1 on the weekly Billboard Twitter Top Tracks chart, ranking as the most-shared song on Twitter during the list's tracking week.

"Maps" is the lead single from Maroon 5's fifth studio album, "V," due Sept. 2. The band's last set, 2012's "Overexposed," produced four Hot 100 top 10s, including the No. 2-peaking lead cut "Payphone" (featuring Wiz Khalifa) and the nine-week No. 1 "One More Night." ("Payphone" debuted at No. 3 on the Hot 100 and No. 1 on Digital Songs with 493,000 sold in its first week.)

Quiz answer: Until MAGIC!'s "Rude" this week, the only reggae tune to top Digital Songs was Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls" in 2007. Both songs have topped the Reggae Digital Songs list, where "Rude" reigns for a third week this week.

I can't believe Payphone only debuted at #3 with those amazing sales.

Interesting fact: Payphone (and Wide Awake) were blocked by Call Me Maybe from #1 in the US, but in Canada, Call Me Maybe already peaked at #1 months earlier, so Payphone & Wide Awake easily hit #1 for multiple weeks (8 and 3 weeks respectively).

Yup, and Call Me Maybe blocked a lot of songs from #1 in the US, but because it peaked earlier in Canada, it also blocked Set Fire to the Rain from #1. #pooradele

Chart Watch: Maroon 5 Beats Coldplay

Maroon 5's "Maps," the first single from the group's upcoming album, V, is off to a good start—though not as good as "Payphone," the first single from the group's last studio album, Overexposed.

"Maps" is the week's top new entry on the Hot 100 at #14. That's the highest entry for a song by a group so far this year, topping Coldplay's "Magic" and "A Sky Full Of Stars," both of which opened at #24. It's also the week's top new entry on Hot Digital Songs at #6, based on first-week sales of 138K. That's a pretty big drop from the first-week sales of "Payphone," which sold 493K copies in its first week in April 2012. It entered Hot Digital Songs at #1 (interrupting Gotye's run in the top spot with "Somebody That I Used To Know") and the Hot 100 at #3. (It wound up peaking at #2 on the big chart.)

"Maps" is vying to become the group's ninth top 10 hit; its sixth A-side single in a row to crack the top 10. Maroon 5 is so squarely in the pop mainstream (which is also occupied by such other groups as OneRepublic, fun. and Train) that it will probably come through.

Now we'll see how observant you are. Did you notice that Maroon 5's new single and upcoming album both have one-word titles (or one-character, in the case of V). What's more, the group also went with a one-word title for its previous studio album, Overexposed, and its lead-off single, "Payphone." The group likes to keep it short and sweet. The group has had two other singles with one-word titles, "Misery" and "Daylight."

Azalea is only the second female artist to hold down the top two spots simultaneously for five weeks. Ashanti did the same thing in April and May 2002 with her own smash "Foolish" and as a featured artist on Fat Joe's "What's Luv?"

"Problem" tops the 2M mark in digital sales this week, one week after "Fancy" reached that level. Azalea is the first artist to top 2M with two different songs in 2014.

"Fancy" is also #1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for the fifth straight week.

MAGIC!'S "Rude" holds at #3 for the second week and may move up to at least #2 as early as next week (busting up Iggy's 1-2 act). "Rude" jumps to #1 on Hot Digital Songs. "Rude" is the second reggae song to top that chart since early 2005 (when the chart started feeding the Hot 100). It follows following Sean Kingston's 2007 smash "Beautiful Girls" (which also topped the Hot 100).

Nico & Vinz's "Am I Wrong" jumps from #7 to #4. It's the first song by a Norwegian act to crack the top five since a-ha's "Take On Me" logged five weeks in the top five in October and November 1985. (In case you're wondering, Ylvis's "The Fox" logged three weeks at #6 in October.) All three of these songs have sold 1 million more digital copies. "Take On Me" has sold 1,463,000. "The Fox" has sold 1,367,000. "Am I Wrong" tops the 1M mark this week.

Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" jumps from #10 to #5. The song tops the 1M mark in digital sales this week, as does Disclosure's "Latch," on which Smith is featured. (That song jumps from #14 to #12 this week.) These are his first two million-sellers. Smith's In The Lonely Hour enters The Billboard 200 at #2 this week.

Calvin Harris's "Summer" jumps from #9 to #8. It also moves up to #1 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, displacing "Turn Down For What" by DJ Snake & Lil Jon.

Pharrell Williams's "Happy" drops from #8 to #10. As of this week. the song has sold 5,565,000 copies so far this year. That's more than any other song has sold in the first six months of the year in digital history. The feel-good smash tops "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz, which sold 5,558,000 copies in the first six months of 2013. And there's still one week to go in the first half, which will allow Pharrell to fatten his total. This is the fourth year in a row that the best-selling song of the first six months sold more than the song that took that title the previous year.

Let's keep an eye on two other songs (besides "Maps") that are already in the top 10 on Hot Digital Songs. 5 Seconds of Summer's "Kiss Me Kiss Me" debuts at #7 (135K). Charli XCX's "Boom Clap" dips from #9 to #10 (97K). "Boom Clap," which vaulted from #62 to #29 on last week's Hot 100, is featured to great effect in The Fault In Our Stars. It's the musical backdrop to the most joyous scene in a sad (but excellent) movie.

Luke Bryan's "That's My Kind Of Night" tops the 2M mark in digital sales this week. It's his fourth song to reach this level, following "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" (3,089,000), "Drunk On You" (2,847,000) and "I Don't Want This Night To End" (2,552,000). This puts Bryan in a tie with Jason Aldean as the only male solo country artists to amass four 2M sellers. "That's My Kind Of Night" was #1 on Hot Country Songs for 12 weeks last year.

"Remind Me," a Brad Paisley duet with Carrie Underwood, tops the 2M mark in digital sales this week. It's Paisley's first song to reach this level; Underwood's fifth. It's the fourth country collabo to sell 2M or more copies in digital history. It follows "Boys 'Round Here" by Blake Shelton featuring Pistol Annies & Friends (2,559,000), "Don't You Wanna Stay" by Jason Aldean with Kelly Clarkson (2,479,000) and "Knee Deep" by Zac Brown Band featuring Jimmy Buffett (2,181,000). (Note: I'm not counting "Cruise" by Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly (6,858,000), on the grounds that country stations mostly played the original version, not the pop remix.)

"That's My Kind Of Night" and "Remind Me" are the 49th and 50th country songs to sell 2 million digital copies. What was the first? Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats," which crossed the 2M mark the week ending Dec. 30, 2007.
