Exactly the same kind of bubbly fluff every other 20something girl in Nashville was releasing in 2000. But for some reason I really dig it. Probably because it was one of my "Alpena songs". I also really like the flanger effect on the steel guitar solo. God i love that song! This must have been one of this random CMT hits bc I don't think I heard it on the radio. CMT was awesome for creating their own hits! Shana Petrone HEAVENBOUND waa a big fav of mine. Chelene Tenniseean (sp) JUST BECAUSE SHE LIVES THERE waa another one. CMT also played Crystal Bernard non stop!

Guilty pleasures for me are from the era when I first got into country music, which was the early 80s 'Urban Cowboy' period. In particular I love the female pop country which was produced then. Random examples being
Barbara Mandrell Happy Birthday Dear Heartache Shelly West Flight 309 To Tennessee Anne Murray Another Sleepless Night Reba You Lift Me Up to Heaven Charly McClain Radio Heart Crystal Gayle The Sound Of Goodbye Janie Fricke It Ain't Easy Being Easy Louise Mandrell Save Me Marie Osmond There's No Stopping Your Heart Sylvia Nobody

I think this one counts (from 1993):

A few more for me:
* "Trailerhood" by Toby Keith (cute song, but admittedly a horrible single choice. I think if he'd led off with "Bullets in the Gun", that would've been a different story)
* "Feel Like a Rock Star" by Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw (still baffled as to why radio nope'd this one so fast...)
* "Gonna Wanna Tonight" by Chase Rice (just felt a lot more intimate and subdued than "Ready Set Roll")
* "Fix" by Chris Lane (this one grew on me)
* As linked above, "Romeo" by Dolly Parton et al (it's really just a bunch of girls getting horny over Billy Ray, but I kinda dig it for its unabashed cheese)
* "Chicken in Black" by Johnny Cash (totally dumb, but you can tell he's in on the joke -- also the use of chickens and AABCCB rhyme pattern make me wonder if Ray Stevens ghost-wrote this...)
* "Tennessee Bird Walk" by Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan (this is so obviously the product of way too many drugs; both of them nearly sound stoned as they're recording it)

Craig Morgan - "Little Bit Of Life" I love it lol. Such a great sing-a-long. Ah yes, the song where Craig Morgan started developing that "Hey, wouldn't it be great if I SHOUTED EVERY WORD TO EVERY SONG and overexaggerated my twang to the point that I sound like a drunk Aaron Tippin?" Seriously, if you make the word "you" have more syllables than letters, you might want to dial down the twang a little. Unless maybe you wanna call Deeeeeeeyubs on something. (disclaimer: that song's a guilty pleasure of mine too)

Craig Morgan - "Little Bit Of Life" I love it lol. Such a great sing-a-long. For a good stretch in my teenage years, Craig was pretty much one of my favorite artists for some reason. Almost all of his songs have a lot of nostalgic value to me and I still like pretty much all of them, including this one and the much-maligned "International Harvester". I also kind of admire "Bonfire" in a "so bad it's good" kind of way. Speaking of Aaron Tippin, "The Call of the Wild" is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.

I sometimes nearly blow out my vocal cords trying to scream along to that one.

Her voice isn't very strong but I can't help but like this one because of its melody.

Luke Bryan - "One Margarita"
While not a 'great' song by any means, I find myself really enjoying it these days.

Tyler Farr "Only Truck In Town" - I know this is not popular with many Pulse members, but I have always loved Tyler's voice.
Hot Country Knights "Pick Her Up" - While this didn't chart very high nationally, this is one of my favorite songs released this year.

Kameron Marlowe - "Giving You Up" if this doesn't become a single it will be a shame. It went into my favorites playlist immediately after hearing it once.

Shania Twain and Billy Currington - Party For Two
Like, it's completely stupid. But it's as if everyone involved is aware of that and leans into it to great effect. Corny, but tons of fun.
