Well, her team is certainly good at addressing the issues fans had w/ the previous album/era. One of the main complaints of BJ is that it was an obvious rush job and now they're supposedly taking their time. I wouldn't be surprised if the album just happened to be ready around the time they're ready to announce the renewal of the residency (though I obviously wouldn't mind being wrong).

I guess it means that both Iggy and Moroder tracks will see single releases sometime in 2015.

They seriously need to consider removing Iggy. Nothing is popping about her right now.

I would so much rather a Nicki verse TBH.

I would so much rather a Nicki verse TBH. I would too, but that changes every time Iggy talks about the collab. Iggy's enthusiasm alone just gets me pumped up.

Britney's pretty enthusiastic about working with Iggy too. I'm... not, but I have a feeling that collab is going to stay intact.

I view it as a plus. I didn't like it at first, but:
A: Unlike the past era, she's being honest that an album isn't her top priority, and is taking her time to make a great album rather than rush to put one together last minute.
B: Promoting singles is easier, and if they don't have a whole album to focus on, they can use this as a chance to regain her precense as a force on pop radio.
C: Sort of goes hand and hand with my "A" point, but rushing to release an album when she doesn't really care to focus on the process will just lead to another failure chart wise and quality wise. This will give her time to get it right.
I actually think it's pretty generous of her to release singles for the fans while we are waiting. Even though we want an album, a few quality singles sounds much more appealing than some bullshit album that she has no say in.

how would this be a terrible idea that might ruin her career? On the contrary this is a GREAT idea and would make people very interested in a new album from her if the singles turn out to be pretty amazing!
I would definitely have 1 or 2 perfect smash singles rather than a full shitty album

Yeah, it's not something to get too worked up about. It's best not to take what they say at face value. They always say what they think fans want to hear. We complained about the dancing, so they have people talk about how she is back to her old self and dancing better than ever. We complained about how her music is so impersonal, we get bombarded w/ messages about how BJ is her most personal album ever. People complained about how BJ seemed rushed and now she's supposedly taking her time. We'll see how this whole thing pans out. We may end up getting the album sooner than we think.
The main thing I'm hoping for is more promo. We've heard from Britney and whispers hear and there that she's taking her time and putting in more effort than she did for BJ but nothing in regards to promo. If they're supposedly not going to rush an album, hopefully we'll get more promo from Britney this time.

I don't think it's fair to impose the bulls**t marketing that Britney Jean received on this album too. It was her team's first real offense, but in their defense it was more of a marketing platform for Vegas than anything-- they said what they had to. I'm a little more hopeful, if only because Britney never seemed half as excited and wasn't nearly as vocal about Britney Jean as she has been for this one. I think that says something.

It definitely wasn't the first time they did something like this. They did something similar towards the beginning of the FF era as well. For example, that was the first time we started hearing about how Britney was back to form as a dancer. They even had Brian Friedman talk about it to hype up the HIAM video. That's why many fans came into the BJ era cautiously optimistic. The things we were hearing were the same kind of stuff they were feeding us during the FF era. That said, even if I am skeptical about the time frame, I don't think it necessarily reflects the quality of the music or the amount of effort Britney will be putting into it. We could still get an album sooner than we think and still get amazing music. I just think they said that to alleviate any worry that it would come off as rushed, which was complaint about BJ.

That's fair, and I had forgotten about the Femme Fatale thing. I don't consider that to be the same degree of deception that was the Britney Jean marketing platform, though. The key difference to me here is that, unlike BJ and FF, Britney seems really into it. So far, anyway, so that's why I'm a bit more optimistic about this.

I think what britney is doing is what other artists have done as of late. You don't announce an album with the first single. You release a single and say it's coming off a future album but wait a few months to actually give details on the album (or EP) IF THAT SINGLE BECOMES A HUGE HIT. If not, release another single and wait for that to become a hit. Then announce the album release date which has that monster single. No problem with that!

I'm so happy to hear she has primary custody again. Those kids are everything to her. She deserves it.

Kinda shocked this was a recent development, although I guess we wouldn't know either way when she got it. It's been so long since she's done a proper, published interview and sounded this candid.

Dear Lord, they really are ruining her career bit by bit. How is that ruining her career? Why rush another album just for it to be another BJ?

I agree, and I think a lot of fans took what Larry said out of context. He said albums aren't AS important in this digital age and he's right. Let's be real, we all know albums just don't sell like the used to back in 1999-2000. The main money is the singles on iTunes (and other digital retailers) as well as concert tickets. So, instead of creating a standard album campaign with 1-4 single releases, I think they are making the right move by just releasing singles for now and seeing how they perform on the charts. It's a different approach than we are used to, but it's not out of the norm for most artists today.

I agree. To me, this makes it a lot more interesting & exciting considering we have no clue what Brit will released next! I say bring on the singles!

Apparently the new single is called "Pretty Girls" and is written by Little Mix. Sounds like it'll be something cute tbh.

I would be more concerned about this strategy if Britney ever released singles that I hated, but being honest with myself, she always brings the fire with single releases. I'm excited for some hot new tracks and an artsy-fartsy album at some point.

The Sun (lol) but apparently the song is also registered and the insider on PJ is saying that it's also true: Take it with a grain of salt!

You putting both of these pieces of information looks like the second has anything to do with the first.

I think Britney at some point got joint custody. Then, in some instances, like when she toured, she worked something out w/ him so that she can have primary custody for a period of time and be able to take them on the road. So at times, it seemed like she had primary custody. Plus, we don't really see her kids w/ him b/c nobody really cares about him and doesn't get much media coverage. I wonder if her getting primary custody is the reason why he recently decided to be a DJ, lol, instead of doing nothing for a living.
