Britney should use Super Bowl 50 as a platform to launch Album 9. :)

After the last 3 SB performers I must say this is a STEP OR TWO UP. I'm glad we are going back to musical legends being the SB halftime act. The last three were dreadful to me. I'm surprised that she is a possibility or rumored the most logical act to follow the last three performers seems to be Taylor Swift.
EDIT - WAIT NO BRUNO MARS WAS AMAZING. I mean the bitches.

With her recent tour crisis and lack of ticket sales she could use a little help from the charity house of Britney Spears Inc ( Yes you earn the inc. part after you sell out arena's and stadiums, clearly some are finding its hard to do so)

I was relieved when some articles from a few days ago reported that the song would be Iggy's single but then some bloggers said that's not true and it'll indeed be Brit's. I like Iggy a lot and would welcome a Brit-assisted chorus on her track but I don't think Brit needs anyone on her own song to make it a hit.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6509510/ask-billboard-britney-spearss-career-salesAsk Billboard: Britney Spears's Career SalesIn anticipation of Britney Spears's ninth studio album (and yes, the possessive of "Britney Spears" is "Britney Spears's," as weird as that seems), do you think you could update the Nielsen Music totals for her albums and singles? Thanks, Caleb Bender St. Louis, Missouri Hi Caleb, A rare Internet moment: attention to good grammar! That is much appreciated here. And, yes, you are correct. Per Oxford Dictionary's (another correct usage of " 's" …) website, "With personal names that end in 's': add an apostrophe plus 's' when you would naturally pronounce an extra 's' if you said the word out loud: Dickens's novels provide a wonderful insight into Victorian England." So, because you would say what sounds like "Spears's album," not "Spears' album," the former is correct. Now that we've started this "Ask Billboard" in the most entertaining way possible (no chewing gum, and there might be a quiz, too), let's get right to answering the question. Here's an updated look at Spears's (…one more time!) best-selling albums in the U.S. and her top-selling downloads: Albums: …Baby One More Time (1999), 10.6 million; Oops!...I Did It Again (2000), 9.2 million; Britney (2001), 4.4 million; In the Zone (2003), 3 million; Circus (2008), 1.7 million; Greatest Hits: My Prerogative (2004), 1.5 million; Blackout (2007), 1 million; Femme Fatale (2011), 788,000; Britney Jean (2013), 265,000; The Singles Collection (2009), 250,000.
With 33.1 million albums sold in the U.S., Spears is the 17th-best-selling album artist since Nielsen began tracking sales in 1991. Among women, she's fourth, after Mariah Carey (54.6 million), Celine Dion (52.4 million) and Shania Twain (34.5 million). After Spears, Reba McEntire ranks fifth among women at 30.4 million albums sold. And, here are Spears's (… I did it again) 10-best-selling downloads (and remembering that her career predates the dawn of the digital era by a few years): "Womanizer," 3.5 million; "Circus," 3.1 million; "Till the World Ends," 2.9 million; "3," 2.3 million; "Toxic," 2.2 million. "Piece of Me," 1.9 million; "Gimme More," 1.81 million; "I Wanna Go," 1.77 million; "Hold It Against Me," 1.6 million; "If U Seek Amy," 1.3 million. As for whether we'll get new Britney Spears music anytime soon? "I'm going to try to do my best to do an amazing album," she recently told Billboard. "But, it's not my full priority right now." Read Billboard's March 21 issue cover story, by Andrew Hampp, for more on Spears's (I'm in the zone …) latest plans, headlined by her Las Vegas residency and its potential renewal through 2017.

It's so strange to me how little "If U Seek Amy" sold digitally. I thought it was an amazing single. I think if the video was better and more shocking and if she had at least performed it once on TV that would have been a massive hit for her. Such a shame that the Circus album died so quickly, it really would have easily been able to go 3x platinum if they didn't pretty much halt promotion after December '08.

In the Zone sold around 7-8 million worldwide I think. It surprisingly didn't sell as many albums as I thought it did in the US.

Britney Jean's sales are embarrassing. Like how is it even possible for someone of her status to only sell half gold with an album released in December? Call it what you want; lack of promotion, no radio hit, etc. but it still was a total megaflop whose total sales are just above the previous album's debut week's numbers. The only good thing about Britney Jean's stats is that it was such a disaster that the only way to go from there is up. I'm ready for #B9 to slay me anytime it wants to.

Yeah it's strange how badly it flopped. Honestly we can all say no promo and blah blah blah but something else was to blame with that. Perfume was not the correct second single choice that's for sure.

Yeah it's strange how badly it flopped. Honestly we can all say no promo and blah blah blah but something else was to blame with that. Perfume was not the correct second single choice that's for sure. It is absolutely a no brainier as to why the album did so horribly. Promo did have a lot to do with it, considering the album got the least amount of promo of any of her records. In interviews around the time of release, she spoke more about Vegas than the album-- if she mentioned it at all (compare to her last two records, which had a handful of airtime devoted to them, at least). 'Work Bitch', good as it was, never clicked with radio listeners. Neither did the rest of the album, which was also critically panned. Point is, nobody even knew she had an album out, and those few that did probably didn't even bother to look it up because of how poor it was received. To be honest, the fact that it sold what it did is a good thing, all things considered.
