It's so weird that the 2 songs we got this year rank among her absolute best (Tom's Diner) and absolute worst (Pretty Girls). And by 'worst' I mean for her standards. Pretty Girls is still a solid little bop but definitely ranks low in her huge catalogue of pop diamonds.

I was listening to The Singles Collection last night, and ugh I just want some really good, solid, catchy pop music from her. Honestly, as much as I would love for her to work with underground and up-and-coming producers, I have my doubts of that happening, so I honestly wouldn't complain with an album of Max Martin and Bloodshy productions. I don't want Dr. Luke on the project because he's an awful person and I don't want him getting my money, but if he was on the project I'm sure he'd turn it out. I'm not expecting Blackout, but an album as good as Circus or Femme Fatale seems completely plausible and is honestly all I can ask for at this point in time.

Consider his stuff too "safe" or not, Max Martin and Britney make magic together. I'm sure they will work together in the near future again.

Max makes amazing tracks. I thought "If U Seek Amy" was one of the strongest tracks on the Circus album and actually didn't have a very "safe" sound. On a somewhat unrelated note, there are certain Britney tracks that have the potential to be these really genius and abstract songs- for example, "Amy" could have incorporated music box, circusy type sounds with orchestration and would have been really amazing. Similarly, "Alien" could have been a 5 minute space-odyssey epic.

My ideal Britney album would have her being genuinely confident in herself again. I don't mean performing or whatever, but in her music-- I get the feeling she hasn't really been into it for a good while.
'Tom's Diner' was a start. I was honestly floored when Moroder said that the record was entirely her idea, and it's the most promising thing I've heard from her in almost 10 years. We got glimpses of it post Britney Jean when some of the demos leaked and the rejected producers came forward saying the label cut the tracks due to cost. I don't know if she doesn't want that, or her team isn't interested in it, or what, but she's capable. I'm still holding out for the day that she reunites with Bloodshy.
I'm cool with her doing some fun stuff like 'Pretty Girls' too, but when it comes to the album, I want her to be a bit more mature and current. And please, no more collaborations. Part of what I love about her back catalogue is that it's pop gold, sure, but it's also progressive. We haven't had that in a while.

I got that feeling with "Alien", apart from the rest of Britney Jean which is cold and lifeless. Whether or not the final product of "Alien" reflects it is up for debate (the technically problems with the final version are just one of many proofs that NO effort was put into that album), but I really got the feeling that she really felt those lyrics. Her opening up that specific album with the lyric "There was a time I was one of a kind" is almost poetic and heartbreaking.

I instantly felt that it was the genuine Britney coming through in those lyrics and with that song; I crave for more material from her that has a bit more depth to it. The fact that Everytime got one of the strongest crowd reactions at her show proves fans appreciate the deeper material, too.

I want to see Britney album wise go the way of (shock) Mariah. Whatever you think of her Me Iam Mariah album it was still all her musicality and artistry than a finding a lane to appeal to younger audiences. I hate when icons/legends make music to hop on trends or popular acts, that's so..... Anyways I just want her to make music and focus on hooks and melodies and songwriting than charts and trending shit.

Alien could have been such an epic moment in her career, in my opinion. If the production had been amped up and the vocals had been re-arranged, with a killer visuals, I really think that song could have gone down as a gem in her discography. The Alien we got had that Eau de Demo that was all over Britney Jean but that song is one of a few post-2008 Britney songs that have stood out to me.

I'd honestly would like 1-2 songs from Max Martin at best. ITZ and Blackout are considered by many to be her artistic peaks, and they are Max Martin-free. The only reason she likely went back to him for the Circus era was b/c her team wanted a relatively safe album to help ensure a proper comeback. I appreciate the songs he and Britney have made throughout the years but at some point, she just has to move on and work w/ new people and experiment like she did w/ ITZ and Blackout. I don't particularly care for Iggy or the Invisible Men but I'm glad she's branching out and working w/ new people. Sometimes the results aren't so great (I personally like PG but I understand if others don't) but songs like "Tom's Diner" show that her reaching out and working w/ new people can have spectacular results. The only producers that I would really want to work w/ her again is B&A b/c I feel as if they've given her the most eclectic collection of songs and she could still really grow as an artist w/ them.

Britney is the most underrated artist of our time. Not just pre-circus Britney but even now today. She's brilliant. Fuck all the live vocals crap. Truth is when she does sing live most people can't tell the difference. She's obviously been working at improving her craft over the last few years to anyone that's bothered to pay attention. Mark my word when all is said and done Britney will undoubtedly known as a legend. I'm over all these critiques of her performances who else is even close to being on her level? Who???

This was the first time in a minute that she looked very 2003-circa Britney. The bubbly personality was THERE

That interview is the most lively and animated I've seen her in years!! I wouldn't mind her collaborating with Mariah. Maybe Mariah could write her a song.

I love the idea of her collaborating with Luda. Hell I'd even take a song from Brit sampling What's Your Fantasy?

The source is Radar Online, a trashy tabloid. At best it's a step above the National Enquirer so of course it's not true. Can we not post their trashy stories here?

Britney with Celine or Mariah... it would be a dream come true, but what would they be able to come together on? It would have to be something ala Touch My Body.

That new interview is great. She needs to continue being random and silly. I don't care if her people think she looks dumb or if she sticks her foot in her mouth. Its what makes her endearing.
