A) why is a Britney thread on the 2nd page.
B) that VMA vanguard performance. Aside from the lack of live vocals, she fucking slayed. Just played in on my big screen to a bunch of Britney doubters and they were stunned. She doesn’t get the credit when she delivers

A. Cause there is so much negativity as usual with her fanbase, so most just avoid talking about her right now cause it only cause more arguments...

Her Billboard icon performance probably. Which really would've been more effective as her 2011 vanguard performance.

VMA vanguard award for her was absolutely horrible. Everything about it. Billboard was good. Except she should have walked over to a podium and got the award and gave a speech!??!??

I hope that whenever the next album comes, it'll be full of quirky bops like Scary and basically all of the bonus tracks she has written. I don't wanna get into conspiracy theories but it's odd how almost none of these songs ever made their way into the standard editions. It's crazy that the gp has no idea of that side of Britney. Opinions about her artistry will change a lot if her label lets her do her thing now that she's way past her commercial peak, even if it flops harder than Becky Joan.

"Someday I Will Understand" "Let Go"

Her team missed a big opportunity with "Unusual You" as well.

"Someday I Will Understand" "Let Go" > Her team missed a big opportunity with "Unusual You" as well. All because they were obligated to release "Radar"... Circus was full of potential hits.

I agree 100% on all the bolded although I'd like to throw "Lonely" into the ring as a missed opportunity for the Britney album. If they were going for a "rock"-sounding single, she could have went with that instead of "ILRR". If she was in the right place mentally during the Blackout era and actually promoted the singles, "Toy Soldier" could have been a great single and video opportunity. "The Beat Goes On" as a single is an interesting idea. I would have NEVER considered that one.

Cinderella should have been a single over Boys tbh. Sadly I don't think anything from that album would have broken through with radio blacklisting her for a while, but there were a lot of good songs there (see also: Anticipating)

Happy October!
What was her last televised performance before Gimme More at the VMAs? Was it the Onyx Hotel Tour on TV?

The 100 Best Acting Performances by Musicians in Moviesby Billboard StaffRules: 1. The artist had to be well-known for music before they were well-known for film acting. (Apologies to Jamie Foxx, Lindsey Lohan and -- most painfully -- Jennifer Lopez.) 2. The artist couldn't be starring as themselves in the performance, even in a somewhat fictionalized rendering. (Further regrets to Alice Cooper, The Spice Girls, and The Beatles.) 3. Only one performance per musician-actor. 100. Britney Spears, Crossroads (2003)Crossroads remains Britney Spears’ only feature film starring role – a shame, because for a pop star’s (admittedly raw) first concentrated stab at acting, the 20-year-old held her own among Zoe Saldana, Dan Aykroyd and more. Remember, this came at a time when Spears was going for a slight rebrand to shed her teen pop skin; “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman” stars in Crossroads’ closing moments, and “Overprotected” pops up on the soundtrack. To that end, the film found Spears at a crossroads of her own, and though she didn’t stay on the thespian path, it remains an integral part of her pre-In the Zone era. -- KEVIN RUTHERFORD

I hope that instrumental will be a basis for her next album, that dark dance beat is giving me Blackout tees.

Britney was great in Crossroads. There was nothing bad or cringe worthy about her acting like people/critics made it seem like at the time. It was just the "cool" thing to always bash Britney and so they did.
