I just wonder when she's going to release something.... I have no idea why they thought it would be a good idea to start this new residency with no new music whatsoever.

Because the idea of a residency is that you’re a legacy act and people go for the hits/star & not the new album? If she put out a new record there would be maybe 3 songs worked into the show. The freshness of new music would potentially help people view this residency from a fresher perspective and fuel the hype, especially if the new music had an “urban vibe” to match the theme, as vague as it is, of the show. It’s not like she took an extended hiatus between residences to make people miss her. |

I love you Britney but wtf is that choreography? Honestly awful. I wonder how choreographers feel about working with her these days, knowing she’s gonna butcher their moves and basically do whatever she wants. Or is she doing all the choreography herself? Someone needs to tell her no.
Come on Britney, challenge yourself. This is so embarrassing for someone who used to be such a gifted performer.

That whole album was just botched to death. From the “Make Me” video scandal on, the campaign was a trainwreck. Inexcusable considering it was her strongest effort since Circus and had potential with the right push. It deserved so much more than it got.
I don’t even know what I want her next album to sound like. I’m a little lost on her lately, and I’ve given up hope that the music will return to the more creative directions she went in during the mid-late 00’s (now more than ever she could pull it off since she’s well past being a hitmaker). I really want to enjoy her these days because of how much her older work did and does for me, but she’s just not putting in the effort.

I wish she pushed the residency off by one more year. Spent the first half of 2019 recording a new album. Single announced in July. First single out in August. Album announced in September. Album out in October. Then have album release day announcing the residency to start in February 2020. Sigh.

Revisited Circus for the first time in a while and it actually holds up much better than it did for me a decade ago. I've always preferred the first half of the album up through "If U Seek Amy," but the second half actually resonates with me now too. The way she sings the lyric "I wonder how I've lived my life" on "My Baby" is packed with emotion and absolutely heartbreaking in the context of where she was at the time.

The idea of this new Vegas show was not the best though.
Hope she stays well and maybe she gets more inspiration to do new music rather than another similar show. Good to see her prioritizing family and wellbeing though.
